Re: Nintendo Restricting Some Image Sharing Features For Tomodachi Life: Living The Dream

Deemo37

I think this is a tricky road. On one hand yeah it’s an E title and both kids and adults will be playing. On the other hand I think innocent design sharing is a huge part of the appeal. I feel like being able to share through codes of some sort would be a good middle ground. Nintendo doesn’t have to monitor an in game sharing service as closely and people can still share designs freely in online communities. Kids shouldn’t be in those spaces anyhow so it’s not a huge concern.

Edit: also Miitopia for the switch had built in mii sharing and it was fine for the most part. I don’t see the big problem.

Re: Donkey Kong Bananza's First DLC In-Game Event Of 2026 Is Now Underway

@LastFootnote
To me the value the modes provide doesn’t seem worth the price. Maybe included in the base game is a little strong but comparing it to say Splatoon’s octo expansion for the same price… It feels like the type of side mode that’s unlockable after you beat the base game. This kind of thing used to be included like that and paid expansions were huge (like blizzard expansions for example).

Re: Talking Point: Metroid Prime 4 And The Burden Of Being 'Good Enough'

Deemo37

Just got prime 4 so in the opening hours but I feel the same way. This is my first prime game (although fusion and dread are some of my favorite metroidvanias) and really enjoying it. Yeah the NPCs are a whiff but it’s not enough to drag it down for me. Funnily enough this is how I feel about the new stranger things. It has things to criticize but the whole discourse just brought things down.

Re: Talking Point: Is Hollow Knight: Silksong Too Difficult?

Accessibility doesn’t necessarily mean making something easier. It means making it available so that everyone regardless of disabilities or other circumstances can play the game. Not necessarily making it easier. If it’s easier you’re not even playing the same game the developers wanted to be made so why bother. I personally usually drop souls esque games but I love metroidvanias so I’m sticking through this. It’s punishing and hard so there’s some bosses that got on my nerves but overall I’m really enjoying the experience. If you aren’t then maybe this genre or this game just isn’t for you and that’s fine. I’ve dropped Elden Ring three times and I don’t necessarily thing difficulty options would make it any better.

Re: Random: BAFTA's 'Iconic Game Characters' Poll Has Us Scratching Our Heads

Deemo37

This is probably skewed towards the audience of the BAFTA game awards. Ask any random guy off the street chances are they won’t know who Lara Croft is let alone Agent 42. Mario Sonic Pac-Man Pikachu and their ilk are 100% the most recognizable characters due to how well marketed they are. Like you aren’t going to casually see someone in Hitman or Tomb Raider merch but Mario merch is a daily occurrence.

Re: Don't Expect A Remake Of Final Fantasy 6 Soon, If Ever

Deemo37

FF7 was a franchise on its own by the time the remake came along and had much more lore to work on for a fully expanded remake like it got. FF6 does not have that and does not need it. It is one of the closest things to a perfect game that I know. HD 2D would be great but it doesn’t need it. A remake like FF7 would not work.
