Re: Talking Point: Do You Play Zelda Games For The Story?

Dalamar

I love story driven games, JRPGs and Visual Novels are my favourite genres. But let's be honest and turn off fanboyism, story isn't Zelda games' strongest suit, to put it mildly. So no, I don't play Zelda for the story, it would only lead to disappointment.

Re: Unsurprisingly, The Mario Galaxy Movie Is Already 2026's Biggest Box Office Hit

Dalamar

I finally watched it yesterday and sadly can't say that I enjoyed it. Now I didn't expect Casablanca, of course, but I wanted it to be on par with the first movie. But it was worse. Way to many chase and fight scenes, every reference screamed: THIS IS A REFERENCE, SEE?! and Fox inclusion looked like something that should've been blocked by adblock. I watched first movie three times, yet I can't see myself ever rewatching second.

Greetings, good people.
This weekend I'll be playing ping-pong! Oh wait, we're talking about video games. Actually right now I'm on my way to pick up Switch 2 version of Bravely Default, I specifically ordered Asian version with English localisation without censorship, so that's what I'll be playing today.
And earlier this week I tried Disaster Report 4 on PS5 before it left PS plus. Guys... I swear, 3/10 review on Pushsquare doesn't do it justice. The game is so f-ked up on every level, you have to try it yourself to believe it. I could write an essay on how utterly ridiculous every aspect is, but you better experience it yourself. Trust me bro™.
That's it for today, love each other and have a great weekend.

Greetings, good people.
The weather in Moscow took an unexpected turn for good, so this weekend I won't stay at home and play, good weather usually doesn't last here. In the beginning of the week my kitty finally got better, so I could properly focus on RE Requiem, now on my third playthrough on Insane and gathering missed collectibles. Also finished Octopath Traveller and started the sequel. Lovely games.
That's all for now, love each other and have a great weekend.

Re: Fatal Frame II: Crimson Butterfly Remake Switch 2 Demo Now Available

Dalamar

@Samalik Wii U version of Maiden of Black Water was censored like there is no tomorrow, to the point that one very important scene was butchered so bad it eas impossible to understand what happened without reading on it online. No idea if it was fixed in Switch version. Needless to say, I'm in no rush to buy remaster.

Greetings, good people. Congratulations, we almost made it through the winter. (Looks at the piles of snow higher than my window outside) Almost...

Now onto the games, I'm sure many of you enjoy new Resident Evil while I wait for my physical copy. But even if I got it yesterday, I would still be playing WitchSpring R until I finish it. I mean, I heard it's good, but words won't do it justice. The game introduces you to the most charming, innocent, best daughter in the whole world... and then makes her life miserable very step of the way. Seriously, if in the end Pieberry won't find happiness, I swear I'll <redacted>. Ok, deep breaths...

And I also got true ending in MIO: Memories in Orbit. Very engaging, charming and beautiful metroidvania. Yeah, it's no Silksong. But what is? What's more surprising, that according to the achievements, only 3% of the players finished the game and 2% got the second ending. What is wrong with you people?!

Alright, that's all for today. Love each other and have a great weekend.

Re: Mini Review: Resident Evil Village Gold Edition (Switch 2) - A Solid First-Person Follow Up

Dalamar

I absolutely adored Village (on PS5). Reviewer said it took inspiration from RE4, but I disagree, 8 felt like "Greatest Hits" compilation. Castle is RE4, manor is RE7, swamp is RE5, factory is RE2. The only downside for me was fort and Chris segment, the felt more like Call of Duty, where you just walk in straight line and shoot hundreds of Village People ™. Still a great game and I wholeheartedly recommend it on any platform.

Dalamar

Greetings, good people.

This weekend is extremely cold here, so instead of usual going out to ice skating, ping-pong or such, I'm staying indoors, cleaning the house and playing games. And boy, I really stretched myself thin, despite usually avoiding doing so. Wuchang: Fallen Feathers on PS5, Trails beyond the Horizon and MIO on Steam Deck, Octopath Traveler and Super Mario Galaxy on Switch. I really should commit and finish something this weekend, and it will probably be MIO, very beautiful metroidvania with emphasis on platforming, highly recommend.

That's all for now, love each other and have a great weekend.
