Re: Talking Point: What Are You Playing This Weekend? (28th February)

Greetings, good people. Congratulations, we almost made it through the winter. (Looks at the piles of snow higher than my window outside) Almost...

Now onto the games, I'm sure many of you enjoy new Resident Evil while I wait for my physical copy. But even if I got it yesterday, I would still be playing WitchSpring R until I finish it. I mean, I heard it's good, but words won't do it justice. The game introduces you to the most charming, innocent, best daughter in the whole world... and then makes her life miserable very step of the way. Seriously, if in the end Pieberry won't find happiness, I swear I'll <redacted>. Ok, deep breaths...

And I also got true ending in MIO: Memories in Orbit. Very engaging, charming and beautiful metroidvania. Yeah, it's no Silksong. But what is? What's more surprising, that according to the achievements, only 3% of the players finished the game and 2% got the second ending. What is wrong with you people?!

Alright, that's all for today. Love each other and have a great weekend.

Re: Mini Review: Resident Evil Village Gold Edition (Switch 2) - A Solid First-Person Follow Up

I absolutely adored Village (on PS5). Reviewer said it took inspiration from RE4, but I disagree, 8 felt like "Greatest Hits" compilation. Castle is RE4, manor is RE7, swamp is RE5, factory is RE2. The only downside for me was fort and Chris segment, the felt more like Call of Duty, where you just walk in straight line and shoot hundreds of Village People ™. Still a great game and I wholeheartedly recommend it on any platform.

Greetings, good people.

This weekend is extremely cold here, so instead of usual going out to ice skating, ping-pong or such, I'm staying indoors, cleaning the house and playing games. And boy, I really stretched myself thin, despite usually avoiding doing so. Wuchang: Fallen Feathers on PS5, Trails beyond the Horizon and MIO on Steam Deck, Octopath Traveler and Super Mario Galaxy on Switch. I really should commit and finish something this weekend, and it will probably be MIO, very beautiful metroidvania with emphasis on platforming, highly recommend.

That's all for now, love each other and have a great weekend.

Greetings, good people.

Unlike great many of you, I'm still into holiday shopping and preparations. You see, here in Russia we have the same thing: decorated tree, presents, sparkling wine, drunk uncle under the table, but it all happens on New Year's night. So... yeah, besides preparing for that and ice skating, I didn't had lots of gaming time. I finished platinum in Diablo IV (had to kill my friend five times for that), some levels in Captain Toad Treasure Tracker and that was pretty much it.

That's all for now, stay safe, love each other and have a nice weekend.

Greetings, good people.

Like many of you, I bought and tried Metroid Prime 4. I played for about five hours and downloaded Prime remaster. Seriously, classical "You and the guy she tells you not to worry about" situation. Where has all the talent gone?

Other than that, I'm having a blast with Wuchang Fallen Feathers. This game has talent in spades. Seriously, I'm amazed how a debut game from a new developer nailed the soulslike combat, it feels better than the actual Souls games. Very excited to see future projects from these guys.

That's all for now, love each other and have a great weekend.

Greetings, good people.

This week I identify as a game boy. No, really, it only took eight years for Nintendo to add control mapping to game boy games on Switch so they are finally playable for me. So I've completed two Mario Land games. And while the first one is simple little game only good as a piece of history, the second one is actually great! Level design is superb and the variety of stages, enemies and bosses is off the charts. I've really enjoyed that game more than any so-called "new" Mario Bros.

I also started Metroid Prime... Hunters. No, really, I already bought Prime 4, but decided to finish the only Metroid game I didn't finish before starting it. I tried it on DS when it came out and found it awful. Now thanks to melonprime it's playable at least. Doubt I'll get much enjoyment out of it, but I need to close gestalt.

That's all for now, wish you a great weekend.
