This is so dumb. But it's the right kind of dumb. I'd be all over this if I was a kid, and if I had a kid that was into hands-on science experiements, or legos, or anything you gotta build to use...Christmas/Birthday, filming it from opening the box to complete. Freakin' genius-levels of dumb!
I actually love the look & overall style of the game, but eh, the slow pace was evident even from the videos I've seen. It just seems like a game that won't hold my attention.
What can I say? It's SaGa. I'm in it for the veritable grab-bag of gameplay ideas and intriguing experimental concepts, instead of a refined, story-focused experience. Sometimes I just want to a game that's all about trying new things, ya know?
Oh hey, it's that really pretty game that I ignored because I couldn't tell if there was any actual gameplay, or if it was just a walking simulator... Now I that there's clearly gameplay, it was just more puzzle-focused than I'm used to...still not sure how I feel about that, to be honest...
Two obvious choices that I'm thrilled to see. I'm not sure if I should wait it out further for a new version, but if there's really just the one set price, I might just go for it, assuming I can find Pokken Tournament DX at a reduced price...actually, nevermind. I think I know that'll never happen...
I thought this was bonus mode for KOFXIV at first, or a download-only minigame. I'm not sure I'd pay more thn $20 for this...but, it does seem neat...and also reminds me that I need to add more KOF girls to my M.U.G.E.N. project...brb
@Anti-Matter According to Ubisoft, no, it's not "Just Donkey Kong." It's part of an expansion pack with a new world and storyline. DK might be the only new addition to your roster, however. They didn't specify beyond that.
Now I can safely sell my Wii U versions to make some space. I know I'll be getting a lot of mileage out of Tropical Frreze's new mode, and I really couldn't justify playing Hyrule Warriors, or really any Tecmo Koei/Omega Force game, unless it's the "definitive edition," simply because I'm financially disincentivized from enjoying their games, thanks to how frequently they release new versions and paid content.
Sounds like the definitive edition I've been waiting over a decade for! This game was up there with Secret of Mana as a game that I felt had a ton of style, but a few frustrating gameplay choices or hiccups damped the experience too much for me to enjoy...wow, and both of those games are getting enhanced remakes in the same year! This really is an exciting time to be a gamer!
I know some will complain about the prevelance of ports and DLC, but I personally was excited by everything announced in the direct. Really making saving up for a Switch difficult, but it'll be oh so worth it when I finally get one! And now it'll be a bit easier since I can sell a few Wii U versions I have (I need to do that anyways to make space), and I can hold off on a few purchases that I know I'd like to have on a portable system, anyways, like Ys VIII.
...and there goes the last reviewer on this site I had any respect for, and one of the editors that I've seen interact with the community the most. Gonna miss ya, man.
...how much? Seriously, I'm curious, how much? I like R-Type III, but it's stupidly expensive right now, and I highly doubt this'll be any better in that regards...but really...how much is this gonna come to?
But this is an excellent game. I prefer The Last Blade 2, but this would still be more than enough to hold me over until that releases...except I already have that on 3 other platforms...including the Vita...
This was a fun one on the PC. Fluid combat, a lot of silliness and dark comedy, and levels that always felt challenging, but rarely unfair - which is quite a feat considering the inevitable RNG-fest that makes up its rogue-lite elements.
Fun fact: Capcom briefly considered changing its company name to "Port-All", but they reconsidered after their brogrammers assured them that the name would cause the internet to explode.
Not gonna lie, this game looks like hot garbage. A thinly veiled "Mystery", random pitfalls, adventure gameplay that looks like it just slows the pacing of what is otherwise a beat 'em up...only really has the art going for it, I think. Neat idea, but I'll pass on this.
@SoIDecidedTo - Well, his description didn't exactly sum up my experience with Mega Man, that's for sure. Nor do I care for him implying that his difficulty and disinterest in difficult platforming is the same as others. It's not a big deal, but it was my attempt to hold back "Speak for yourself, noob" that I desperately wanted to say.
They're NES platformers. Of course they're going to be difficult. I never felt they were frustrating, though. The levels are well-designed and aside from a few sections, I always felt like the answer was right in front of me. MM1-10 all gave me a sense of "just one more try!" that I think makes for a good, challenging platformer. It never got to the point when I "accepted it would be frustrating." I just accepted that it would take practice. There's a big difference, since "frustrating" implies that it feels impossible. That was rarely the case for me with Mega Man, though I'll admit those Wily stages marathons might've crossed that line...4 stages in a row with a boss rush section is just brutal if you don't farm for lives and Tanks....
@FriedSquid Good find. Certainly looks more like what I expected considering what that power was. Thanks.
@FinalFrog I highly recommend not putting words into the mouths of strangers if you don't intend to tick them off.
Anyways, I'm interested to see what this new mechanics is, but I kind of want to see what the new robot masters look like. None were featured in the trailer.
...Uh-oh, 3D graphics??? Getting Mighty No.9 flashbacks...but...wait...it actually looks good...like, really good...holy crap, Mega Man really is back, baby!!! I gotta get caught up, and finish the first 10 games....I always leave off on the Wily stages for some reason...
Huh. Opposite of the majority on every issue except the final one. I prefer Zelda in most cases, but I'll admit that I got the most mileage out of Super Mario 64 and the Wii U Mario games on their respective consoles. The Gamecube was my big Zelda time, but then again, I did love most of the 3D Mario games, too. Now, if we were talking about 2D entries, Zelda would win every time for me.
@link3710 Didn't notice that at first, but you're right. I guess I expected sdomething more explicit, since indeed they didn't make it clear that it was coming to all platforms in the west...
I'm just glad we're getting a proper sequel after that disaster Valkyria Revolution that they released earlier this year. Hopefully it releases in the US this time so I'm not left having to look for fan-translations again...
