SNK is bringing some of its most famous female characters to Switch in the two-on-two fighter SNK Heroines: Tag Team Frenzy.
Expected to launch this summer, SNK Heroines is the spiritual successor to SNK Gals' Fighters, a title which appeared on the Neo Geo Pocket Color way back when.
Players will be able to activate a variety of Special Moves with the press of a single button, while special items are available which can help you win each fight.
NIS America will be publishing the game. Here are some more official details:
Activate Special Moves with a single button, and make use of special items to change the tide of battle! However, the fight isn't over the moment you've chipped enough health away. Once your opponent is on the ropes, utilize your Dream Finish technique to win the match! Spectate on other battles online, and wage on who you think will win using in-game points. Use your winnings to buy voice clips and accessories in an all-new costume system, and customize your favorite heroine to your heart's content!
Features:
+ Assemble Your Heroines and Battle Head-to-Head – A brand new tag battle action fighting game is here! Players can participate in a four-multiplayer frenzy online or with friends!
+ An Iconic Cast of SNK's Female Characters! - Choose from a generous roster of female heroines from the SNK universe!
+ Defeat Foes With Style and Elegance – Coordination is key, as players can choose from up to 100 different accessories for their characters. Accessories including cat ears, glasses, face paint, and new sound effects.

Um.... Okay ?
Girls Fighting again ?
It looks merely "okay", but it's no Dead or Alive.
Please, Koei, PLEASE!!!
Passing hard on it.
The Nintendo version of DOA Volleyball. At least they are still fighting.
Sadness! Why do we get this fan service one button masher instead of the proper KOFXIV! Even KOFXIII would be welcomed... and no disrespect to SNK or fans of this game, but damn... come on!
I’ll get it
This looks fun! An accessible fighter with a nice history of the female SNK fighters. Cool!
I kinda want it, but I'm worried about the fighting systems and that one-button activation. Also, it needs more characters. Nakoruru, Yuki (Kyo's GF), Shermie, and maybe a couple others are missing.
@Shiryu Yeah, I hate to think that this is the testing game to see if SNK would bring a proper KoF over to the Switch. Here's hoping the Japanese fanbase would help with the lion's share of that bill.
On the fence for me
Uhhhhhhhhhhhhhh... Okay??
I think I just stick with King of Fighters instead, thanks.
I want a real fighter. Gimme some Tekken, KoF, Virtua Fighter... shoot, gimme Injustice 2. I'm jonesing
This looks terrible. Was looking forward to a new snk game when the rumour surfaced but gutted it’s this. A one button fighting game urghhh
@Shiryu
You mean XIV lol. This one seems too shallow.
You Hurt The Waifu, You Get The Naifu.
Sounded great until I realized it's a girls only fighting game.
That's a pass for me, these kind of games are usually the worst kind of fan service.
But seriously this looks like garbage, gimme king of fighters (insertnumberofthecurrentgamehere).
It looks like poo visually so it's not like the switch can't run it.
I'm interested ...as long as it has Nakoruru as a playable character.
But .. why, though? Why only girls? Can‘t we get KOFXIV on Switch!? It can‘t be that hard.
Kof Waifu edition.
Absolute garbage
@GoldenGamer88 I recall Sony providing some financing for KoFXIV so I doubt we'll see it on Switch. Maybe SNK's next game, which is rumored to be a new Samurai Shodown, will be on Switch.
Reminded me of Gal Fighters on the NGPC. I suppose this is fine and all, but if you're going to go this far, why not just bring KoF XIV at this point? Switch definitely could use some legitimate fighters beyond USF2/SF30th & Pokken Tournament.
I'd rather hold judgement to see how it plays than some dumb bullet point list. I own SNK Gals Fighters and it's a fantastic little fighter.
I knew this looked like Gal Fighters!!!
Not what I was expecting from SNK but ya know what. Looks like some silly fun, successor to another silly fun game, I love SNK's history, hoping to see some Metal Slug characters...I'll gladly try this.
@nilcam Oh, didn‘t know that. Hopefully KOF15 makes the jump, whenever that‘s coming.
WTF but I want KOF14 or even KOF13, a KOF Divas Edition doesn't sound too enticing to me. Not that I'm a sexist but without characters like Kyo, Iori, Terry, and Kim in the game then I'm won't go anywhere near it. It's if you're asking for the full WWE 2K18 but instead they give you the full WWE 2K18's Divas Division roster only.
Looks interesting, I might try it. Still waiting for a Capcom vs SNK port though...
It has Mai. I'm getting it.
As a long time fighting game fan this makee me uneasy till I saw my 4 and 6 year old daughters' faces.
This will be the game that gets them into fighting games in the same way SF2 did to me
I love this website. “We want games!” “Here are some games.” “We don’t want THOSE games boo hoo!”
I check this sight out whenever I want to see if someone is going to “pass” on a game or not. Because it’s important everyone knows apparently.
@Trickbaby14 Haha indeed. "Gonna pass hard on this." Really? Ok thanks, keep us in the loop. Now allow me to regale you with all the items I'm going to choose not to purchase in the supermarket later......
Will hold judgement until there are more details. Hope we are not getting breadcrumbs instead of a proper fighting game though.
@PhilKenSebben @ParasolStars
For the people who want something a bit more conservative, the Blaz Blue Tag Team Battle game has been announced.
Don't know why but i'm really digging this game.
@EmirParkreiner Nice! Thanks.
Day 1 purchase!!! It's a fighter on Switch, it's SNK, and it's an all female cast!!!
Conceptually, it's my kind of game. I'll need more info though. Just because it's a Nintendo console doesn't mean it needs to be 'accessible', meaning made for players who can't handle controller motions and multi-button commands.
It looks interesting enough , and think it will be fun to play.Still hope to learn more soon as my knowledge of snk is not existence I'm afraid.
I'm all for SNK fighters.
I'll be getting this. Another one to use the Hori arcade stick with
I’ll hope to be convinced by the reviews - and really wanting further support from SNK
Wow, I love SNK fighters, but this looks awful
Couldn’t they just make a KOF or Samurai Shodown or something?
Because hey, if you brought their backcataloge maybe you'll buy a new game too. XD
@Shiryu I was about to comment that. Kof XIV came out in 2016 and this game seems to be running on the same engine. I don't understand the logic in making a stripped down version for the Switch when they could just port KOF XIV and everyone would be happy.
@Oat I hope they see the error of their ways soon...and I will be this one will go on to sell millions(?).
@Trickbaby14 So people can only compliment and defend games, but nobody is allowed to voice their opinion when they don't like something? Kind of ridiculous how choosy some people get when it comes to what people can and can't complain about.
Does this mean we'll finally see the return of I̶o̶r̶i̶ ̶i̶n̶ ̶a̶ ̶s̶c̶h̶o̶o̶l̶g̶i̶r̶l̶ ̶u̶n̶i̶f̶o̶r̶m̶ Miss X?
UPDATE, OCT. 25 2018: Yes. Yes it does.
@abe_hikura Couldn't agree more. This game may (will) never be considered for inclusion in the hierarchy of fighting games but if it gets more people interested in the genre, that can only be a good thing.
Eh, I don't get the negativity. Unless this reviews horribly, I'll be picking this up. Always down for fighting games.
I thought this was bonus mode for KOFXIV at first, or a download-only minigame. I'm not sure I'd pay more thn $20 for this...but, it does seem neat...and also reminds me that I need to add more KOF girls to my M.U.G.E.N. project...brb
@Trickbaby14
Exactly, they want games, companies give them games; they do not want those games, it's say, really?
And now they want games that are in other consoles, but it's not good, because they are ports, again, really?
They want unique games, they receive unique games, and no, they prefer remakes, new versions of a franchise, and again, seriously?
I know and it's obvious, everyone likes their games, have preferences, and it's normal, but sometimes it's ridiculous to complain about something they will not consume ...
I will never understand, but, yes, the fans "clinging" to their rather strange ideas and that is quite annoying and absurd, but, again, oh well...
@JayJ
It's not ridiculous to complain, but if you complain about something that you won't consume (maybe never), then, what is the point ?, make everyone believe that you are different from others, well, we know that everyone has their preferences and it is obvious, like in this case, many people do not like or won't like that game, and that is ok; but complain, What did the game affect you, if you have not even tried it?
It's like people who complain about food they don't like o hate it, but have NEVER ate it; Does that sound ridiculous or correct?
Would be all over this if I owned a Switch (or PS4 I guess). No PC makes me sad.
@JayJ
Exactly. Comments sections are meant to write opinions about the game in question and of course some people won't like some opinions.
@sinalefa
The detail is that when the comments are more complaints than other opinions, it seems that people have an "exaggeratedly" general dislike for something that for others like it and really does not look bad at all; sometime, it feels as uncomfortable and even rejected...
And it is correct, everyone has different opinions as well as preferences, and that is totally respectable; I also have games that I do not like and I also have not good opinions (and I have expressed them), but I do not try to see myself "negative" because I know that for others like that I do not like, I try to show "empathy and respect" even showing I do not like what they like.
@Fuz
No, I owned two copies (I had two copies of each fighting game, both cardfighter's clash, and puyo puyo 2) and enjoyed it the most along with CvS:MotM.
I preordered the Diamond Dream Edition and know three other SNK fanatics that did the same.
Will double-dip on a potential Steam version later on as well.
WTF? $120?!
https://store.nisamerica.com/preorders/snk-heroines/snk-heroines-diamond-dream-edition-nintendo-switch
At least there's hope that a certain Miss X might be in the roster. There looks to be 14 characters total, based on the pin set.
What are you trying to say SNK?
Why not just make KoFXV and give Kyo and Iori breasts? Run DoA into the ground.
I want muh real KoF. I want muh Rock Howard!
I so would have wanted hand-drawn sprites over the 3D models. Oh, well. I'll still pick this up. I played Gals' Fighters a few years ago, and it was pretty fun. Hopefully, Shermie will be in this (if not at least dlc).
@QwertyQwerty You'll be sorry!
