Re: Nintendo Confirms Expansion Pass DLC for The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild

@Kirgo Oh yeah, I'm not gonna say the main game is worth less without it. However, I don't think the Season Pass is even remotely worth $20. I would be less peeved if they didn't outright say "we won't be offering the content packs separately". That's just me, though, and even if I could only get pack #2, I'd still wait a while to see if I could get it on sale, mostly because I have other games to play.

@JaxonH What do you mean "not enough to count on"? If I wait say...15 months, and there's still no GOTY edition? I can still buy it, and I can still play it. And once I've played it, I can still get the DLC. What have I lost from being patient?

Like, I'm not even angry that DLC exists, personally - I meant to point that out in my previous post, and I guess your point was more directed at people who are mad about lacking on-disc content. I thought you meant that you'll still have to buy stuff separately, and will never get a complete package with a single purchase. At this point, there's not enough room on the discs themselves to handle everything on one disc, especially for stuff like Dragon Age.

@Kirgo They're "offering" modes that have been traditionally included with other entries as a standard part of the package, a free in-game promotional T-Shirt and some ambiguous story content that probably won't be revealed until about 3 months after the Season Pass has been available. How are they not withholding content here?

And let's not forget that none of it will be available to download separately (at least according to Nintendo, so take that for what you will at this point), and you have a $20 pre-order for an expansion that won't release until the Summer. I don't know about you guys, but I consider that to be a desparate move no matter who's involved. I'll hold off for the inevitable bundled GOTY-esque version. Although, knowing Nintendo, it'll take a heck of an unreasonably long time for that day to come. Which works for me - that means I won't be financially rewarding what I consider to be a bad move within a timeframe that matters to their bottomline.

@World Where did you find that spoiler? I could only find spoiler-free guides and reviews after a couple searches. It's as if the internet doesn't want me to know it, but I have to know...without actually having to play it, because that wouud require spending $7 and about 20+ hours on a mediocre RPG, and I've had my fill of those just last year.

Re: Capcom Admits Monster Hunter Stories Performed Below Expectations

CanisWolfred

I'm certainly not miffed about Stories not doing well, I can tell you that. No need to put out a cynically childish spin-off just to appeal the exact opposite of your series' intended audience, Capcom. Spin-offs are supposed to get new potential fans interested in a franchise, not some peace offering to the desenters. Why would those kids buy it when it had to compete with Yokai Watch 3 and Puzzle & Dragons X? Let alone Pokemon Sun & Moon? Because you made a kids' show for it? Geez...how cynical can you get about your own customers?

Hopefully Double Cross continues to impress, so they don't even consider making the same mistake again any time soon.

Re: Review: Poochy & Yoshi's Woolly World (3DS)

CanisWolfred

You know, this doesn't sound too bad, and since I have a New 3DS, at least it won't be as much of a graphical downgrade. I'm still keeping my Wii U version for that reason alone, but I might pick up this version if I ever find it for under $30 someday. The lack of local co-op is a non-issue for me, so it sounds like the same game, but with more features (and a graphical downgrade that it tries to make up for with stereoscopic 3D), all on a portable system. I could dig that.

Re: Feature: 10 Intriguing Third-Party Nintendo Switch Games for Your Wishlist

CanisWolfred

@TromboneGamer Yeah, I can't get over it. Never could. I've had to look at it in articles and trailer reels for over 5 years now. I still have to resist the urge to puke every single time I see it. If anything, knowing it might be a fun game just makes it worse for me, because now there's at least the slightest hint of temptation to play it, despite knowing full well that its aesthetics will ruin any enjoyment I could possibly gleam from it.

Re: Soapbox: The Nintendo Switch's Final Specs Don't Matter

CanisWolfred

Nothing matters, it's Nintendo! Everyone must buy it, or else I'll have to get a bigger soapbox to scream from!

I get that specs aren't end-all, even for the developers, but at this point...Nintendo is fighting a monstrously uphill battle. Every positive box they can tick while still staying affordable would help, dontcha think?

Re: Feature: The Nintendo Life Game of the Year Awards 2016

Ugh, the 3DS list = 5 games I really should be playing right now, but I'm tired as $#!+ and waiting for my apartment to cool down...next time, I'm looking for a place that charges for heat. I cannot tolerate a room that is 80 degrees, and the only way I can fix it is to turn off the radiators, until it gets too cold.
