Re: Pikmin 3 Deluxe Officially Announced For Switch, Includes All DLC And New Content

CairiB

Well I for one am very happy to see this, and it makes me hopeful for picking 4, to me it makes sense to drop this before releasing a new one. I did own it (it was actually my first dip into the franchise) and enjoyed it, but didn’t finish it and ended up selling my WIi U and all the games to fund buying the Switch.

I think people need to relax a little, if people enjoy the games being re-released and are happy to pay the price then so be it! A lot of the ports have been new to me games, ones I missed out on at the time of their initial release and it’s never bothered me one bit buying them now. Gaming is my chill out time, I’m just happy to see games I know I will enjoy playing being put out. I also don’t see this being the only thing to appear this year.

Re: Review: Skully - More Than Bare-Bones, But Ugly As Sin On Switch

CairiB

Well that’s a let down, I was hoping this would be worth picking up but there are too many cons listed for my liking. I can usually let graphics slide a touch, but they don’t sound great and then if you add poor performance on top of that, it sounds like I would be more likely to end up super frustrated rather than having fun. What a shame

Re: Zelda: Breath Of The Wild 'Clone' Genshin Impact Gets New Beta Footage Trailer

I have no issue with taking elements of a fantastic game and making it your own but there’s a lot in this that just feels lazy, enemies, most of the landscape and even the sounds are all near identical. To me that’s boring, I don’t know what the plot is of the game but I promise that if it’s similar too then this is just going to play like BOTWs poor relation and be a dull experience, which in a way is a shame.

So much potential wasted I fear, if only they had been brave enough to shift away further from the game they have obviously taken inspiration from (or ripped off style wise, take your pick!)

Re: Review: 1993 Shenandoah - One For Hardcore Amiga Fans Only

CairiB

Oh how I miss my Amiga! It was my first personally owned machine and saw me through my early teens while I was physically unable to play outdoors. So many games; All the dizzy games, pang, rainbow island (this was one of my favs!), the lure of the temptress (loved this to death)

God I miss it

Re: Rumour: Zelda: Breath Of The Wild 2 Voice Actors Say Their Work Is Complete

I’ve always been really hopeful that this was further along in production than many expected. Because it shares a lot in common with the first and there were countless rumours about areas/developments that they didn’t include in the first game but that were fully realised that maybe they didn’t have a huge task ahead to complete tBOTW2. So I’m going to keep on clinging to a possible Christmas release. 🤞🏻🤞🏻

More pattern slots would be great! Or even a storage type system for them so you can keep the ones you like or have previously used.

The idea of a multi player off island area sounds interesting but having visited a very heavily built up island which was at full capacity my fear is that it would be seriously laggy!

So far I’ve loved the slow release of updates, it keeps things fresh, I really struggle to understand the anger at having to wait. But then there’s such a culture of wanting things yesterday and hating to wait, so why wouldn’t that filter down to the game too.

My son bought and has already played his way through TLOU2. He was a huge fan of the original so had high hopes.

He was a little thrown by the switch up in the character you played but in the end he thought it was a clever move that took you from completely hating a character, to understanding they have a backstory too.

He loved the game and is now working towards completing the collectibles.

Re: Soapbox: I've Been Playing Animal Crossing: New Horizons Wrong All This Time, But No More

CairiB

My island really isn’t all that urban and there’s a mess of flowers trying to take over the world! But it’s a 5-star rating....

ETA: I do think there can be a balance found in the game and I’ve worked hard to keep any furniture within a certain aesthetic, avoiding almost all the big things you can get from nook Miles for example, going for more of a small town vibe.

I would love to see more than the one pic of the writers island, LOVE to see what other people have done.

Re: Poll: Should Nintendo Release A Digital-Only Switch?

CairiB

Not sure how to vote as the not sure doesn’t cover how I feel.

I would be happy for them to release a digital only so long as they also offered a physical version like PS have.

Personally I love collecting the games, displaying them like I do with my books (I still don’t own a kindle or similar!) so I would prefer to have the option to continue to do that.

Re: Talking Point: Are You Suffering From Animal Crossing: New Horizons Fatigue?

CairiB

I’m a newbie to the series so I’m not bored in the slightest! I don’t time travel so I’m moving a building a day, taking my time with terraforming as I don’t want to change it, ruin something and not be able to put it right. 🙈

I’m also playing multiplayer A LOT and I think that makes all the difference. I had people over fishing in the rain the other day to catch some Colecanth and it was great fun chatting with them and watching them catch stuff they didn’t have.

I’m sure I will slow the pace at some point but for now I’m still hammering the hours into it
