Seeing some Castlevania is nice, but I don't much care gor "rogue...." games. I like the Baynoetta spin-off - nice art style there! On the Non-Nintendo front, Jedi: Survivor should be awesome like hte first game was.
@Truegamer79 Oh, I HATE the breakable weapons! It's one thing if it's a tree branch, but a sword doesn't just snap in half because you hit a guy with it six times. At least have a repair option of some kind. It's honestly the worst thing about BOTW - but I still played the heck out of it!
Nintendoland was great - so much potential! It's unfortunate that so few of the ideas ever really bloomed into something bigger. We all had a blast playing it!
I love Miyamito and I love his story too. He came into Nintendo to design packaging art and such, but had these wild ideas that got noticed. He was often told that what he wanted was "impossible" but he'd push for more. If it really wasn't possible, he'd save the idea for when it was. He's a visionary, and that vision has made video games what they are today.
It really sounds like any other 3D Sonic game, which I know get a bad rap, but I still generally enjoy them. The glitches/performance issues are a little concerning, but hopefully they can smooth that out with an update. I'm not scared away yet, though I am not in a hurry to get this due to backlog.
I'll probably get it later - I jsut have too much in the queue, not to mention a couple games that are out that I haven't picked up yet. It is low-priority.
Road Rage was good and Hit & Run was GREAT! The Simpsons Game was solid, but not really as good as Hit & Run. Honestly the rest aren't that good, but I can still say that I loved playing Bart vs. The Sapce Mutants as a kid, even though that game is incrutible and difficult to control. We had fun with it though, so there's that.
@Morph I agree that the Saturn was a solid system, but I also agree with @Truegamer79 that the WiiU is woefully underrated. It's such a shame. The only real issue with the system was the branding & marketing - otherwise it's brilliant!
It should be a bigger version of Bowser's Fury style - that was perfect! It doesn't necessarily have to be fully open-world, but use those basic mechanics.
@Markiemania95 Yeah, it's the HORI. It's great! I got an extension cable for it too since it is wired only.
I generally like the Switch Pro D-Pad, though I sometimes hit the wrong input on it. I think that has more to do with positioning than teh quality of hte D-Pad itself. When playing a game using the D-Pad only, it feels great - when I am using the stick and trying to hit the D-Pad for ancilliary functions, I sometimes "miss" or hit it wrong. I think that's a "me" problem though.
@Markiemania95 After I got my Gameboy Player back in the day, I ended up picking up a third-party SNES style controller for GC - no analog sticks, but perfect for playing GBA games with a nice, big D-pad.
You know, when this came out I didn't like how different it was from the SNES version, which I just loved. It didn't seem like a must-buy or anything so I largely passed on it. I went back at some point and really learned how to play it and it is great - but still, I really preferred the feel and characters of the SNES one.
@GrailUK Right! To me, Mario had that Brooklyn-Italian accent like he did in the cartoons - not actually Italian. It was jarring to hear his first in-game voice and it was like that. Not that I dislike it - I love it and Charles - but it was a different and new take compared to what we knew before.
For the record, the first voice of Mario was Peter "Optimus Prime" Cullen in the Donkey Kong portions of the Saturday Supercade cartoon in 1983!
It's hard not to say the original is it lays the groundwork for literally everything Zelda, however the "formula" really solidifies in A Link to the Past, so definitely one of those two. I jsut replayed A Link to the Past again and it never ceases to amaze - it's an absolute classic (though Zelda on NES is as well).
I really don't get how the collection can't be number one - it has most of the otehr games on it! Theoretically it shouldn't count at all - but it's on the list so....
I am a big SuperC guy as I love the NES outings but the second improves on the original. It's hard to really discount Contra III the Alien Wars as an amazing game though.
@Abes3 Nintendo has always known how to get the most out of their hardware, though there was a time when the third parties would step-up and also put out some top of the line stuff. Now most of them just want to make lazy ports. Cross-platform games can never fully leverage one specific hardware's strengths, which is why first-party titles always seem to be the best.
Sounds like more of the same, but with Splatoon, the same is great! I didn't play Splatoon 2 as much as I did the first one - just too many other things going on, but I still think this will be worthwhile, though I may clear my deck a little before buying it.
SNES, baby - but I never owned it until much later. I rented it many times though, but since my mom worked at Blockbuster it was free! I first owned MK64, and it was actually the old demo copy from the same store - it says "Not for Resale" on it. That's okay, I didn't buy it nor sell it!
@eltomo Yeah, I LOVE Goemon! Mystical Ninja 64 is one of my all-time favorites. Still, I'd like to see Konami come back with anything - all of their old franchises are good.
I got in a few regular battles, and it's as fun as ever! I like the new starting system where you can aim at a landing spot. I did not play the Tri-Color Turf War mode and didn't even know about it.
Sounds like a great package, but it's a little pricey for me considering that I actually have a lot of these on the original cartridges. The arcade perfect ports are the main draw for me, as well as the Game Boy games, since I don't have those, but I will wait for a sale. I am glad to see though that they put a lot of extras, etc. into this and it really looks fantastic!
I'd say 64 is the best - Bluestorm just didn't quite have the same verve - it's still good though. The GB game is also actually pretty good - glad you included it!
Wave Race really is a great game and holds up well - many games of this era don't. The water was absolutely mind-blowing at the time! To me, Bluestorm was never quite as good. I'd love to see a new entry in this series.
@Sinton I've cheated it with a Game Genie, but yeah, it get's pretty crazy in there. I actually only got there legit once as usually the Technodrome Boss fight in level 5 does me in! If I spend the time and just load up on scrolls for every turtle, I can do the job.
@Sinton It's just hard to people who weren't there - if you pick it up cold today it's frustrating. Me, I can do the underwater level without taking a hit! Seriously. Usually though I just power through it for the sake of speed and load up on pizza in the next stage. Actually though, I nver beat the game either - the last leve just always got me - and I put in some hours on that game for sure.
I do hate when popular Internet thought becomes the assumed de facto position of all fans though - super annoying. That's why I prefer positive content over negative stuff that just tears down stuff.
No TMNT Tournament Fighters for Gneesis/Mega Drive? That is a unique game too.
I rated the ones I could, and while I will always love the original NES games, honestly, Shredder's Revenge is just about perfect - a real labor of love!
I do wonder if this is really intentional, but hey, that's fine if it is. I just worry people are jumping the gun.
Also, as to Birdo, aren't there many Birdos like there are Yoshis? It's a species, not a single individual. I think the main one that they use now in like Mario Party is a female, but there are others.
I go back far enough that it wasn't common knowledge that Samus was a woman. I hadn't finished teh game when the Justin Bailey code blew that wide open. It was fun to play around with that code though as it enabled me to get further into the game and learn more about it.
I love how there were three versions of TMNT Tournament Fighters and that they are all completely different games other than being 1-on-1 fighting games. It allowed each version to play to the platform's strengths. That said, the SNES version is probably the best one, so it makes sense that it gets the online play.
Yeah, Waluigi Pinball is a really fun one! I like how they are including some new courses too - the Ninja Hideaway track from the first wave is one of the best MK tracks ever! I hope Skyhigh Sundae lives up to that.
@veesonic I appreciate short games too, but the price should be commensurate. I may still give this a look when it's on sale though - it sounds pretty cool. I also love me a really insane storyline!

@RupeeClock Yes, that is the A/V Famicom, and it also has the composite outputs that the US top loader lacks. You can read about it here on NintendoLife (just found it when double-checking the name):
