@Anachronism I had the same thought because I have missed out on so many things like this in the past. That said, I am thankful that I was lucky to snag one of these before they sold out and also recently got the NSO N64 Controller on the most recent restock. I do check twitter pretty frequently and that is where I saw both of those things. @videogamedeals is a great account to get notified as soon as they are up.
Peach's design looks off to me, I feel like her head is just a little too big for her body. Also, Anna's voice just doesn't sound right to me. I don't think it needs to be as high pitched as it has been previously, but it just doesn't work for me. My enthusiasm for this movie is fading with every trailer that is released. Pretty much everyone else thinks it is amazing so I guess I am in the minority on this one.
I ended up picking up Live A Live recently and have been enjoying it. I tried Xenoblade Chronicles 2 back in 2017 when it came out, but could not get into the game even after having played 5-10 hours, I had also tried to get into the Xenoblade Chronicles port on 3DS, but I chalked that up to it being too big a game on 3DS, just not a series for me.
I had never played a BlazBlue game before Cross Tag Battle, but I absolutely loved that game and it got me into fighting games for the first time a very long time. Can anyone tell me if this game similar to that? I'll probably pick it up regardless because I have been on a huge fighting game kick this year, but I am curious if the controls/feel of Central Fiction is similar to CTB.
@Danrenfroe2016 I feel like Nintendo had a hard deadline for Camelot to meet and instead of requesting a delay they just pushed out the most complete version of the game that was ready once they had to manufacture the cartridges. The mechanics and gameplay are honestly perfect in my opinion and in terms of gameplay it is the most competitive and strategic Mario Tennis game ever, but that is where any and all compliments end. The lack of customization is shocking considering it is missing features that were present in the N64 Version. It has all the potential to be the "Breath of the Wild" for the Mario Tennis series, but the content is so lacking it is basically an unfinished game.
I think the lack of match customization is absolutely ridiculous considering the options everyone is asking for have been is every Mario Tennis game prior this this. I am ok with the current settings as the default, but there is absolutely no reason in a tennis game I can't play a full (3 Set, 6 Game) tennis match. And I can say with 100% accuracy that anyone who thinks people complaining about this are crybabies have absolutely no care in the world for tennis. I'm not a massive tennis fan, but its because these features have been around since the NINTENDO 64 that there is an uproar about this.
@GKO900 I may be wrong, but in North America at least the Samus Edition was the final New 3DS XL model they made. So glad I got it because I think it is the best one.
Outside of the first party this was the biggest release for switch this spring and now its delayed. We aren't going to get a prominent 3rd party title till crash bandicoot or octopath whichever is first
Been on a Nintendo break lately. Been playing Assassins Creed Rogue Remastered, Burn out Paradise Remastered, and some Far Cry 5, all games I wish were on switch
I've been lucky that most of the ports that have come to switch I skipped on and gladly purchased for switch. Darksiders on the other hand is a series I very much so enjoy and have beaten both of the original games. So ports of the first two games wouldn't interest me that much unless we also get 3 or they are sold at a reasonable price. (Both games on one switch cart with no downloads for $50 would be ideal)
At this point I don't believe I could ever use a third party dock in any fashion even if its proven to work, I just cant put my switch in anything that is not a first party dock, OJO is cool but the brightness and resolution it pumps out are absolutely dreadful compared to most projectors out there
As someone who did not own a Wii U I am all for the Wii U ports, but this is pushing the limit of a $59.99 price tag. Every other Wii U port had some sort of extra content that was substantial in some way. Mario Kart 8 had extra characters and a new battle mode. Pokken Tournament had a new character as well as the unreleased Arcade characters and new DLC to top it off. Bayonetta 1+2 was sold a reasonable price to begin with and has exclusive Nintendo Costumes, Hyrule Warriors is going to contain Wii U and 3DS content as well as tweaks and improvements to the overall game. Donkey Kong is giving us an EASY mode as an incentive to buy again (1st time for me, but once I saw what we were getting I thought for sure it would at most retail for $50). I may wait to see if I can get it on sale.
Had to be trolls, even with the restrictions in place enough people hate 1 2 switch and wii u ports that they would do this, but honestly im in the camp that thinks they werent necessary on their own website
And another thing I don't see mentioned a lot is that because of these 1/2 download games it basically makes the used product pretty silly. For example I have the resident evil revelations collection, but I downloaded Rev 2 so now if i want to sell my "Reseident Evil Revelations Collection" it will only be selling Rev 1. Makes the box art pointless after the game is downlaoded. At least make it blatently obvious like bayonetta that it is a download.
Resident Evil Revelations was one thing because Revelations 2 is like 24 GB, but this is blatent profit maximizing that directly affects the consumer. Capcom is like "lets take the smaller game and put it on the cheapest card possible and make the consumer download the bigger game and save some cents on every cartridge produced!"
Yea Capcom can just stop publishing games on the switch if they are going to pull this.
Wow I was unaware he played a role in my favorite Fire Emblem games of all time. Must be amazing to have been there for the Original NES all the way to the Switch. Enjoy your retirement!
@Aaron09 I'll admit I do enjoy playing games on the switch more than the 3ds, but I dusted mine off to play Fire Emblem Echoes in May and Metroid Samus Returns in September and I absolutely loved both games, so much so that those 2 games are my favorite 3ds games of all time now. For certain games it is still worth owning and playing.
I can very well be proven wrong, but I really don't think this will appeal to kids of this generation. It is a cool concept I suppose, but I can only assume the games included will be short and shallow and at the end of the day you will be paying for something that will take longer to build than enjoy using.
Cool announcements but did we need Hyrule Warriors AGAIN. I'm personally really stoked for the Mario Tennis game actually. Hopefully they can save the franchise after they ruined both franchises (Golf and Tennis) after Gamecube and GBA
The GameCube had the most main line entries in Nintendo Series, basically every notable Nintendo franchise created got a game as well as a bunch of new decent IPs as well. Problem was everyone thought the GameCube was for kids when it was the only console that Nintendo made that truly tried to compete against Sony and Microsoft in terms of software and play style.
I would love a set of pro joy cons and I'm talking not only a d pad, but also thicker controllers as well for hand comfort and better triggers. Problem is if Nintendo makes them they would retail for 90-100.
@Agramonte you do know digital sales aren't accounted for in those numbers and both Doom and Skyrim were on the switch best sellers list for a least 1-2 weeks. Maybe they aren't sure fire hits like Rocket League, but I wouldn't say either of them flopped. Nintendo is a new platform to them and these are ports of older games with worse graphics. I really don't see how anyone could have expected crazy sales for these games. If anything I think they outperformed there expectations.
I'll admit I have been playing a ton of other stuff since this released, but back in June I had a really good time with this game learning the timing, finding a main character, and beating the grand prix on higher difficulties. I really think it is a great game that is brand new to the fighting genre that really deserves more praise. It's just a tough sell at $60 especially for people who don't have any interest in fighting games. I really think Arms would do outstanding as a $40 game. In my humble opinion Arms is a quintessential game for the Switch alongside Zelda BotW, Mario Odyssey, Splatoon 2, Mario Kart 8 Deluxe, and Snipperclips. I'm very surprised to see how many people regret buying it because I think it is the perfect game to own just because of the local multiplayer capabilities and is a great game to show people what the switch can do other than Zelda/Mario.
I love this game, really addicting and I just can't stop playing, it's not perfect by any means like BoTW but the story pulls you in and the combat is surprisingly easy to comprehend when it is tought to you in steps. I really didn't have too much hype from the stuff we saw before release but once you get going and the game starts to take off you will not want to put it down.
@Aerona I will admit I loved Metroid maybe slightly more, but Shadows of Valentia is easily my favorite Fire Emblem 3DS game. Surprised me so much, voice acting was great, dungeon crawling was really fun, and was the first FE I beat on Hard/Classic.
Happy I waited because this is coming much sooner than expected (Looking at you Shantae), slightly dissapointed by the price, but in my opinion what you get is worth $40, if it was any more than we would've had an issue. Easy Day 1 and an awesome game to kick off the year
Nintendo dropped the ball allowing this on the eShop. Microtransactions are a glaring wart on the industry right now and the switch was basically a safe haven from that nonsense. Hopefully this game isn't a sign that the floodgates have opened to any crummy developer who is looking to make a quick buck.

Wasn't excited, but if it got good reviews I might try it out. After watching footage this game runs like trash, honestly I'll take blurry and last gen visuals before I take anything less than 30FPS
@ieatdragonz Same for me except i would swap Mario and Zelda. This was easily my favorite 3DS game this year. I also agree that had it come out last year when the 3DS was basically the only console Nintendo supported it would have been more successful sales wise.
@MsgBoardGamer The switch is being marketed to everyone, literally everyone, young people, college aged people, adults, gamers, casual gamers, mobile gamers, the switch is trying to do what no other console before it could even dream of doing and that is appeal to basically everyone. My point is that Switch probably won't have enough power down the road to continue to get ports outside of ports from the last gen. It really shouldn't be any sort of issue until Microsoft and Sony announce their new consoles, that is when Nintendo will really have to think about releasing a more powerful iteration of the switch. But again this is speculation, this is my opinion of what the switch is and what its role in the gaming ecosystem is so take everything I, or really anyone says online with a grain of salt. We can only wait and see how the switch ends up selling this holiday and into next year as well as their ability to secure big third party titles going forward. I own the switch, I love it, but I really enjoy speculation about the game industry and having good discussion with anyone, because the gaming industry is very unpredictable and it can go any which way.
Also I really do feel the Wii era pushed away a certain sect of gamers, including myself, whereas now the switch is the system that is bringing everyone back to Nintendo. To some its almost as if Nintendo wasn't doing anything after like 2009 until they released the switch. Late-era Wii and Wii U came and went and a lot of the general public didn't even realize those systems existed. I still have people ask me is they can play Wii U games on Wii and if 3DS games can be played on 2DS. Up until the switch Nintendo did not market themselves to the general public at all and their wonly naming strategys only hurt them more. As someone who works in retail I can attest that the general public had no clue what was what in the last generation of Nintendo consoles/games.
I love the switch and I think it is going to beat out the SNES, but 100 million units this day and age I feel is a lofty goal. Switch did a great job of maintaining momentum through this year, but they have a good 3-4 solid years of good sales too reach those goals. I just find it hard to believe because in 2-3 years the switch will be very under-powered compared to what will be out there. Not the sole determining factor of success, but when games start being developed with Xbox One X and PS4 Pro power in mind the switch just will not be able to hang with them anymore, whereas now the switch is only slightly less powerful than vanilla XBO and PS4.
