Re: Bionik Reveals Its Range Of Nintendo Switch Accessories

BornInNorway81

I have a couple more questions.

Many power converters with a wall plug (110V-240V) and a USB socket are marked with an output of 2.1A or 2.4A. Many portable batteries with USB sockets ("powerbanks") also have 2.4A output. Can USB 2.0 cables (Type-A to Type-B micro) safely transfer 5V / 2.4A?

And am I right in that the Switch's powersupply charges the Switch at 5V / 3A when portable, but higher when docked, but can also charge at lower ampere when portable?

I'm curious how you know Nintendo's own hardware is "improperly engineered".

And I also wonder if what you're saying, is that USB Type-A to USB Type-C cables are unable safely to transfer 5V / 3A / 15W electricity?

Can you please elaborate, since what you wrote made me very curious about electrical safety when it comes to USB devices?

@XerBlade
"But seriously though, stick with the OEM Nintendo adapter to charge the Switch. The chip that handles the charging on the Switch is actually ITSELF improperly engineered (seriously), and only the OEM charger is actually completely safe the use with it as a result (which itself is improperly engineered). It's a ridiculously stupid situation, but it's one manufacturers have been putting us in since the beginning of electronics."

Yes, SplatNet has been live since at least December, 2015!

splatoon.nintendo.net

It baffles me when Splatoon regulars don't know this.

@rjejr

"Have they been talking about a website or app to tell us the maps and mode? Seemed like Japan had it up and running long before the West got it. If we need our phone for voice chat might as well have the app telling us what's what before we bother to turn the game on."

Yes, Xbox in 2002 was better; You could actually identify your friends with the Gamertag! Same as on Wii U with NNIDs.

How do you identify friends on the Switch? Please, tell me! Same with strangers; please tell me! Tell me how you identify "Jack" among three friends named the same or among 10,000 random players, please.

@ANeonChicken

"You are way to into this... You can add your friends anytime you want on the switch..you have to use the Switch Friend Code. The original xbox which dashboard was this https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nf-Hsxgk-6c . Oh yeah way better..."

Are you saying none of the 12... twelve... one-hour sessions fit your schedule?

@AirElephant

"The game seems like it would be good, but this limited-time, one-hour "Test Punch" trial is ridiculous. I'm not going to schedule my life to ensure that I'm home and ready to play when Nintendo dictates it. I've canceled my pre-order and will wait to see if Nintendo produces a "proper" demo at release so I can evaluate whether or not the title is for me.

Demos are optional, of course. But either release a proper demo that lets me play it when I have time or don't bother."

Re: Random: Mario Kart 8 Deluxe Patch Removes Offensive "Bras d'honneur" Gesture

BornInNorway81

I'd actually argue that if my feces somehow made it onto someone else's arm, the joke would not be on me, but on them!

@The_Mysteron

"The gesture signifies sticking one's entire forearm and fist up someone's rectum. It's pretty gross when you look at it that way (the other arm symbolises the depth that the fisting arm is going)
I'm surprised it made it into the game at all tbh."

I own MK8 and have played it a lot, single player, local multiplayer, and online multiplayer.

I've seen a lot written about what was added in MK8D, but nothing about what was changed for the worse or removed.

Can anyone with the game please share what has become worse compared to MK8, if anything?

Or is there an article about it someone can point to?

Re: The Official Standalone Switch Dock Arrives In Europe Next Month

BornInNorway81

Considering the Dock costs USD 70, the Dock Set will probably be USD 100, which will make it EUR 100, and way too expensive for what I get.

The Dock Set should cost no more than EUR 60. If I want another Dock I'll just purchase another Switch which won't be much more expensive than a Dock Set, Joy-Con pair, and Joy-Con grip!

I can be critical when Switch lacks OS and infrastructure features Wii U had at launch in 2012, and even Xbox had in 2002!

Nintendo is 15, fifteen, years behind!

The Switch uses no global, readable, user identifiers, but the Wii U had NNIDs in 2012, and Xbox had Gamertags in 2002!

It's tragically hilarious, really. Nintendo are so inept at anything but the games themselves.

@ANeonChicken

"I never said it was bad thing you are just putting words in my replies that I never put. Sure the Wii U had more features but look it at now..a dead console. Literally give it time and stop being so critical about a system that has been out since march."
