Re: Review: Syberia (Switch)

You, sir or madam, are a person of my heart.

I find it utterly unbelievable that we've had 2, two, aspect ratios on TVs since the 1950s, yet in 2017 when everything seems possible, this is still an issue.

@sillygostly

"I'm concerned about how the aspect ratio is dealt with in the game. The trailers display the aspect ratio correctly, however the eShop (and the screenshots shown above) show the game to be stretched to 16:9, and I'm not going to support a game or film that doesn't present their work in an appropriate aspect ratio. This is just ridiculous. I hate the fact that stretching out is even provided as an option as it encourages ignorant people to impose the incorrect AR when viewing or displaying 4:3 material to an audience."

Re: Nintendo Plans 'More Ways to Have Fun' on Switch and Anticipates Momentum Into 2018

I just want the Switch OS brought up to the standard of Wii U's 2012 OS!

Hello, Nintendo! We're in 2017, you amateurs! Split your buttocks and pull out your heads!

Where is user password protection?
Wii U had it.

Where are public, global user identifiers?
Wii U had NNID in 2012, and Xbox had Gamertag in 2002!

Tell me this, folks: How do I with no doubt whatsoever identity Matt from Matt, or Tom from Tom, on my Friends List? I can't!

Wii U wins!

Re: Developers Discuss the Switch eShop 'Gold Rush'

It was slow, but better.

Tell me, where’s account password protection on Switch?

Tell me, where’s the publicly visible, global user identifier on Switch?

Right, the answers are: nowhere and nowhere.

@electrolite77

“You mean the same Wii U OS that needed a huge Day 1 patch to be functional and still managed to be painfully slow? That one? The Wii U OS was awful.”

Re: Poll: The Switch eShop is Hot, But Is It Time for an Overhaul of Its User Interface?

BornInNorway81

Everything is better on the Wii U, except a single thing: speed.

The Wii U was better on every single count, on its launch. The Switch is laughable and a disgrace.

Nintendo is inept at hardware. Please, just go third party, Nintendo. Please!

Nintendo is good at games though, except at online multiplayer games. Splatoon was so much better than Splatoon 2, so that's another example of something Nintendo did better in 2012-2015 than now in 2017.

I can think of worse things, like people complaining about people complaining when something they love was good but became worse.

I complain because I care. The game is good and I would like its face to be a good representation of the rest of the body and its qualities.

@Untempered-Link

"Jeez its this kinda fuss that show how Nintendo fans can be THE WORST.
People who complain about stuff like this are an embarrassment to our community."

Re: SteamWorld Dig 2 Has Had the Biggest Launch in the IP's History

BornInNorway81

I disagree.
The Wii U is the better console, and it even had a better OS and better network infrastructure, at launch, than the Switch has six months after launch.
Wii U is a special console, there is nothing like it. Switch is nothing else than a hybrid.

@MsJubilee

"Why you bringing the Wiiu into this knowing damn well it's an irrelevant platform? Also just cause it's getting kickstarter games doesn't mean it's alive and well.

God i hate the Wiiu so much."

Re: Nintendo Is Ending SplatNet for Splatoon Next Month

BornInNorway81

The closing of SplatNet is a big deal, since we'll now have to spend 3 minutes every time we just want to check what the current ranked mode and stages are, before deciding to play.

The Wii U has no sleep mode like the Switch, where this can be checked in 15 seconds on the console itself, if you have the game running. And we also still have SplatNet 2.

@BraveFencerZan

"A lot of games get their servers shut down. In the next 4 months: Pro Evolution Soccer 2016, FIFA 14, MLB The Show 15, NBA 2k16, and The Tomorrow Children will be losing their servers. These are PS4 games.

This news is about an app shutting down....so I'm not sure why folks are acting like it's the end times. You can still play the game itself online."

Re: Nintendo Is Ending SplatNet for Splatoon Next Month

These are sad times. I used SplatNet every day for two years, ever since I learned about the Japanese website Summer of 2015, before the English version was launched.

And I'm sad to say Splatoon is a vastly better game than Splatoon 2. The rank system is a joke, Nintendo was spitting in my face and lying that Splatoon 2 is an upgrade, when it is in fact the opposite.

Re: Random: Worms W.M.D Assets Included in Nintendo's Nindie Showcase Press Details

I purchased Worms Revolution on PS3. That was the first and last time I bought anything from Team 17 on consoles.

The game performs so badly I had to stop playing it. At times it hit around 8-10 frames per second, but the Wii should have been able to run it! Just as a comparison, Donkey Kong Country Returns on Wii looks better, runs smoothly, and doesn't render in much lower resolution. Worms Revolution's graphics on PS3 are so rough that most comparable Wii games look way better.

I'm simply not trusting Team 17 again.
