The allure of retro hardware is pretty strong, and Nintendo knows it - hence the fact that it has produced vintage-themed variants of the Game Boy Micro and 3DS XL in the past. It has yet to pull the same trick with the Switch (hardly surprising given how new the console is) but if you really want to give your system that old-school charm, you can always use a stick-on skin like the one shown here.
Based on the classic Super Famicom design, this fan-made skin covers pretty much every inch of the Switch console, the Joy-Con controllers and even the dock. It looks amazing.

Work of beauty
No.
Would be nice to have some SNES games to play on it.
Oh. My. God. I'm head over heels in love!
WOW! WANT!!
wants its. must haves its.
Absolutely amazing. I would love it. But what happened to the whole skins will leave your console surface pitted and ruined?
Oh My Heavenly Lord... !!
Is that SNES Vinyl Skin ?
Really Beautiful !
Where can I order that Vinyl Skin ?
Btw, is that skin will NOT harm Switch body ?
To heck with a skin, I want a Switch PAINTED like that for sale!
Still lament Nintendo's decision not to release the Super Famicom N3DSXL outside Japan. Maybe a 2DS XL Ninty?
It looks great but I remember reading before that the adhesive on skins is not suitable for the plastic the Switch is made from.Is that not still an issue?
That's pretty classy.
The certain lack of purple prevents it from giving me any retro feels.
I am not someone who likes retro designs that much.
But this one looks just awesome!
I wasn't even this in love with past girlfriends!!!
It would put "The Long Road We've Come" vibe into perspective even more if it was an NES skin, but this is quite effective, too. Especially as joycons have the approximate button variety of a SNES controller each.
@OorWullie I guess they're going with the whole "it's so lovely you'll never take it off" approach!
In the words of bubbles ...greasy.
That's dope! But Dbrand confirmed the switch is incompatible with all kinds of skins and wraps. Gonna end up damaging the hardware.
amazing job not sure how long it would last but looks nice
Well that looks awesome
One single word............. WOW
B-E-A-utiful! But nah, I want my Switch sticker-free
I don't even stand a chance at getting all those decals on straight.
Looks cool but also a nightmare to apply. It's hard enough getting a simple rectangular screen protector on a phone straight and without bubbles... imagine trying to fit all those bits and pieces on a switch! No thanks lol.
Would buy it day one if it happened to be official release!
Best looking console ever imo
Speechless... (dribble... more dribble)
Not gonna lie, the dock looks bad flat like that. It's really off putting looking at it.
It doesn't look quite right, in many subtle ways, but it's still cool regardless.
Now all we need are virtual console games
@kobashi100 Dbrand confirmed that all vinyls that use the same materials as them will damage the switch. Decalgirl and skinit offer skins that are guranteed to not damage the console.
Dbrand really destroyed the whole market with their announcement. Pretty selfish really. shrugs
I gots to have it
It's all fun and games until the edges start fraying and the button caps fade It's pretty when new though!
It still amazes me how much sleeker the Super Famicom design was than the SNES design.
That looks utterly amazing!
I've never bought a skin for any piece of electronics, so it's unlikely I'll start now. I imagine they will eventually come off and maybe leave glue residue.
It's really nice but I thought skins like this damage the Switch.
Sorry, didn't see the name on stickers. Always preferred the UK/Jap design over the USA brick, but did like the purple.
@NEStalgia That is the SNES?
@stevejcrow By SNES I meant the purple accented brick you mentioned, versus the Super Famicom (Japan) design.
I'm partial to the SNES design because that's the one I knew, but it is amazing how its blocky self aged versus the sleek Super Famicom design!
Even more images here...
This is really well done, Nintendo should make limited actual ver4sions like this, they would make a killing , but then they'd just discontinue it if people wanted it.
I'd love it if the majority was just a plastic case, like the Mario Maker and Zelda cases for the Wii U Gamepad
Very nice.
This will be my next skin after I want to change the skin from my custom Miku wrap. http://imgur.com/a/ngCnT
Hey! That's the same thing on the special zone in SMW!
