Developer GIANTS Software has today announced that Farming Simulator 18 will be making its way to the Nintendo 3DS this Summer. The new gameplay trailer released on the company's YouTube page shows off the main premise of the game as you immerse yourself in a "new, engaging Southern US environment, harvesting wheat, canola, corn, sugar beet, potatoes and, for the first time, sunflowers" - thus becoming the modern farmer.
The game is often considered a hit on PC and console with millions of players addicted to the farming lifestyle. Along with accessing over 50 vehicles and machines, taking care of your livestock and selling products on the dynamic market, you will also be able to try your hand at forestry - new to the 3DS.

And not even the Switch.,..
Seems like a better fit for Switch...
I literally have no idea why I'm interested in this... Perhaps I miss a good Tycoon game.
Then. I could wait for the Switch version
Does the game send your family into crippling debt and forced contracts with seed companies, or can you choose to grow subsidized crops that are turned into HFCS? I don't get the appeal of this game, but then again I have a garden and a mini orchard that command my green thumb.
@Menchi187 It's coming to Switch actually,it was revealed during the January presentation.

@OorWullie That presentation was so awful I forgot almost everything in it, my bad. Kinda telling that the Switch version is "later" though.
Where's the people to run over and terrorise like any good, out of the way, farmer would do?
@Menchi187 I actually didn't mind it haha.After all the rumours,the lack of news,the bickering on here and elsewhere,I was just glad to get it out the way.Quite a few games appealed to me.I was shaking my head during the 1-2 Switch section and various other points but for the most part I came out it quite happy.Then I came on here and saw not everyone was of the same opinion,far from it haha
@OorWullie I don't know what you're talking about
(nope, not the zelda booty)
Uhm... no Nintendo Switch? Really?
@Menchi187 TBF, they probably did not know if the console was going to be a hit or not (Hence no Wii U ports.) and by the time they did, there was probably not enough time or resources to make a port.
That said, I'd expect next year's game to show up on Switch....
And yet somehow, I missed Farming Simulator 1 thru 17...
@TDS_Computer that's nothing. Imagine the archive binge some people face before playing F1 2017.
I don't understand just how this managed to succeed as an annualised franchise, nor do I understand why it is (apparently) as popular as it is.
I'll wait for Animal Crossing and/or Harvest Moon for my village/farm fix.
@BornInNorway81 It's coming to the Switch in the fall.
@Menchi187 I think the Switch verison is later because the 3DS is going to mirror the Vita/Mobile versions pretty closely with heavy emphasis on touch screen controls. I think the one coming for the Switch will be closer to a home console incarnation.
Nice; these games are okay if you like no-nonsense sims. Prices also get slashed on them big time, so this'll be a good $10 purchase about six months down the road.
This game will come to PC, PS4, Xbox One, and Switch as well, but on a later date.
@sillygostly
Will be the same question, why fifa and call of duty are annual succeful?, one answer: fans and players interested.
However, why it is popular, well, one answer: modder community for this game and the company support that modder community in news entries, that probably, we will see in this versión.
I seriously might get this... it just looks fun
I've seen these games, but I didn't realise people actually played them...
@Jaredfrogman Rumour is this new game will increase farmers' taxes too while cutting taxes for the rich. You'll be able to manage your poverty-ridden home to fit in with the modern day.
