We're just over a week away from seeing Burnout Paradise Remastered on Nintendo Switch. To get us hyped for its release, EA has shared a brand new trailer - check it out above.
The game's launching on Switch on 19th June, bringing arguably one of the best open-world racing experiences to a Nintendo platform for the first time. It comes with a whole bunch of DLC and has been optimised for the Switch specifically, but it'll be pretty pricey when it does finally race onto the eShop.
Burnout Paradise Remastered is the definitive Burnout Paradise experience, delivering the complete original game and eight high-octane DLC packs including Cops and Robbers pack, Legendary Cars, Burnout Bikes, and Big Surf Island. Racers can smash through traffic and rule the roads in adrenaline-fuelled online multiplayer with up to eight other players, or pass the controller (or console!) in local party play.
Optimized for the Nintendo Switch with a range of technological enhancements, players will race and rampage through the open world in 60 glorious frames per second, along with high-resolution textures, and pinch-and-pull map controls.
As we're sure you'd expect, we'll have a review of the game on the site for you as soon as we can, so stay tuned for that one in the near future.
Are you looking forward to playing Burnout Paradise on your Switch? Will you be getting it day one? Let us know with a comment below.

Brilliant game and worth getting for anyone who's not played it. This, 2010's NFS Hot Pursuit and 2012's NFS Most Wanted were the most entertaining racers of the last generation for me, until Mario Kart 8 came along in 2014. Tip of the hat to Criterion.
It can be had for £34.99 in the UK, which yes is more than it costs on other platforms but it’s a “new” game for the Switch for all intents and purposes and has a lot of content for the price.
Sweet, keep them coming EA, you da best.
I will buy it if it's 720p in handheld. Otherwise, it's pointless for me to spend so much on it - the Xbox version is less than half the price.
@JohnnyC
Really liked most wanted, and the Wii U port was stunning, that would make an awesome game on the Switch.
Zelda BOTW wen't up in price after 3 years which is weird.
Burnout is a big meaty racing game and is worth the money.
When that's said, i bought Burnout Remastered 4K/60 for only 5 bucks on sale month for Xbox One X.
@johnvboy They did alot of job on the Wii U port, but EA didn't market it at all which p*sed off Criterion as they spent 6 months on all the work. Not even the cover mention any of the big upgrades for Wii U.
NFS Most Wanted is one of the best third party ports on Wii U ever.
I'm craving for an Arcade Racing like this and Nintendo seems not to care about the Cruis'n series so... I guess I'm getting this one when the price goes down a bit.
If it was released at the same with the other platforms I'd not mind to pay this price but now that train has departed.
It's a shame as I really couldn't get into it the way I did with earlier Burnout titles. I seem to be one of the few though as I know many love this game & it's nice to have more choice on the Switch.
If it's good in having it
Bah! Give me Burnout 2, 3 or Revenge. How about SSX3 while I’m at it. Paradise strayed too far from the established formula for me. If out of nowhere EA said “We’re remastering Takedown!” I’d squeal like the happiest pig.
Meh. Give me a Burnout Revenge remaster and I'll be a lot happier. Open world racing sucks. I was much happier with closed tracks and Destruction mode. EA is crazy to release this "remaster" at full price too, btw
Just tell me that it doesn't have technical issues and I'll buy it
@alasdair91 Where are you seeing £34.99? RRP in UK is £44.99 which is a full £10 or 23% higher than the launch price of other platforms, let alone the price its settled down to 2 years later after numerous discounts.
I highly recommend no-one buy at this price as EA are ripping you off.
Oooooh l would love to have this game! Time to crush and smash!
@lumothesinner The Game Collection had it for £34.99. They’re a good seller and I’ve used them a lot. Bought Witcher 3 at a good price from them only last month.
@JohnnyC Agreed!
@lumothesinner Nobody should buy games at full RRP, regardless of publisher. You can always find them cheaper.
And the fact the game came out two years ago elsewhere (and goes on sale) doesn’t stop it being totally new for the Switch, or any Nintendo console and it costing the same as other new games.
Smart of Grid Autosport to go on discount for the first time just before this launches. Gotta say, I wouldn't mind a arcade racer like Burnout in my library too, but it's honestly quite expensive. Gonna wait for the inevitable Digital Foundry review before I take the plunge.
No. Do not get hyped to spend $50 on game that is consistently on sale for $5 everywhere else. EA doesn't deserve it
@farmer_humpf £38.95 now - still higher than the launch price of other consoles. I'll pass until EA stops being stingy...so ill probably never be able to pick it up
@alasdair91 You can find it cheaper than RRP yes, thats not the point as thats a retailer discount. When a game costs more at launch on the switch than it did at launch on all other platforms, thats extortion by the publisher. If they priced it the same RRP would be £35 and retailer discounts would be even lower, right now you are buying at the old RRP of other platforms with the retailer discount. I would consider that still too high for me, but understandable pricing. 23% markup to be on switch is not acceptable
@tourjeff
Man I'd love to see a new Cruisin' game.
I may grab this one sometime. I didn't even know it was coming out for the switch. Still have a ps3 copy I never really got around to. I still think burnout 3 was the best.
I like how we are getting this game on the Switch but the price just feels like an insult. It is on sale right now on Xbox for $5.

They are literally putting a 0 at the end for the Switch version.
Is this complete on the cart. It's day one (heck, minute one!) if so.
I should be equipped for day 1 purchase come the 19th, fingers crossed.
And hot damn, 150+ rides. MW12 doesn't seem to have ever come close even with the DLC, and Vita apparently missed out on the latter, so it was barely over 60 vehicles according to the lists. And even that much was a lot to discover while roaming the world, a lot to drive around, a lot to gradually upgrade via specific races (is it similar in BP, I wonder?)...

@GrailUK eShop still lists 3.9 Gb. If that doesn't change in the eleventh hour like with 2K collections, this game would have to try hard not to fit on a cheaper physical medium.
Definitely interested, but not at that price. Also not a must own title for me at all so happy to wait for a good sale.
Looks like EA trash.. oh wait, it is.
Is the the 720p video a "sign of things to come" regarding the port or is the 1080p version still being processed or something?
I mean 60fps is "king" for racing games but 720p won't look especially good docked.
And they're also advertising "high resolution textures" - 720p won't be doing them too much justice.
Maybe it's dynamic res or 900p?
We'll see next week I guess.
I cant get hyped for an old last gen game that I own on PC (£4 on sale when I got it) and Wii U (Wii U version is really damn good, the best and £9 used) and I may have doubled dipped to have it on the go for say...£15? But no Ea, you can ***** right off with that price ESPECIALLY when its cheaper on other formats. Wait for a sale.
Well hopefully this is the first of a handful of EA ports that will come to Switch. I hope it turns out to be a quality port and sells well enough to get them interested in more ports. I would really like to see NFSMW more but in fairness to EA they did great ports to both the Vita and WiiU and they sold like poo. While FIFA on Switch is not horrible, the slap shot job they did and then pretty much went 'legacy' after the first effort is insulting to those that care about FIFA (not me). I would really like to see a quality Madden port and then I want the ME and DA trilogies like so many others. Time will tell but now that Switch is the current best selling games platform and has 60M installed base, you would think EA would want to be their typical whore selves and make some money off Switch the next two years as its reached its peak maturity.
Wont be touching it for 3 reasons. 1, the price tag is absolutely rediculous.
2, Lack of analogue on the controllers. (i will not spend more money on a cube pad just to play a certain genre of game)
3, Its EA.
I will get it eventually just not at $50. Game is a great fit for the Switch!
My fav. is still Burnout 2 - that game published by acclaim - BEFORE acclaim died and EA bought criterion games and Burnout became an EA brand ;(
I have preordered the game - bought it on xbox 360, pc, xbox one and now on switch - it's a good fun racer, especially the online mode (which i hope will be well populated on switch) but when it comes to newer burnout games - i would prefer burnout revenge over paradise. it does not have an open world, but it still had the OG crash races ... was a blast playing with a FRIEND on the couch - paradise is completely lacking of that mode, which is a bummer. but overall the game is still good. glad i can finally play it on the switch
@hadrian I had a Wii u and I really don’t remember Burnout Paradise being on it! Pretty sure I’d have been all over it if I’d been aware. Loved 1 and 2 on gc!
Very much looking forward to this. Will play it alongside the Last of Us part II this summer.
@hadrian This was on Wii U? Perhaps you mean NFS Most Wanted, which was pretty similar. As for Burnout Paradise, wish this wasn't open world. I agree with @eRaz0r - Burnout 2 was the best one I've played. Self-contained racing and a proper Crash mode. Open world leads to too much aimless driving around, which is fun for a while but I want the focus and accessibility of selectable tracks.
£38.95

@Realness yeah burnout 2 was the series highlight for me. Awesome game! Would much rather have that...
Here's the original ps4 blurb:
EA states the game will be available on disc and digitally from March 16 for $39.99
So EA is puttin' 10 bucks on the price. .Now if N is charging more for royalties then quit complaining. N is not a good company and will eat your money as fast as they can. A lot like Apple.
edit: quick looksee puts all 3 at 30% royalties on their stores. Not sure what else goes into that (dev kits or whatever) but that's the base I guess. I don't know if this covers 'licensing' just to make the game either. Maybe N charges too much. I wouldn't doubt it.
Or to put it another way; if this was just released for xbx/ps4/switch should they all be 4.99$ or whatever?
Don’t really care that it’s $5 or whatever elsewhere , can’t exactly expect EA to launch a port at that price. But I do think $30 ish is bit more realistic price point?
Wont be picking this up myself (I have it on Xbox), but I highly, highly recommend picking up this game. My favorite racing game of all time and very, very fun. It's more arcade-y, so it's easy to get into and have a blast with.
Would much prefer blur to be remastered for Switch, stunning game!
played this on the xbox 360 loved it can't wait to pick it up on the switch
Oh man dangerous driving 2 is gonna be sweet.... oh wait Their still talking about BP.... F%#$ EA.
For me, this was the worst of the Burnout series. I prefer racing with friends on a couch, on a defined track, not trying to negotiate a map whilst driving at high speed. But if you like solo/online racing in an open world, then there’s probably none better.
My advice: try before you buy or wait for a sale
EA, give me the Mass Effect trilogy or stay irrelevant
I love me some Burnout, but I am not paying $65 CAD for the Switch version, regardless if it's portable. It's around $7 on Steam right now.
I wanted this one pretty bad, but it is $30 too expensive so I am passing until a sale or if they do physical, used. The only thing that would get me hyped enough to budge is a price CORRECTION for this old game.
Yeah I can't wait burnout in handheld mode
remember addicted play this franchise in psp
64.99 in canada. HARD PASS plus EA doesn't have a good track record on switch.
And also they only ported it to switch because the investors were angry at them for not proffiting off the switch platform.
So yeah, no thanks.
I’ll consider buying from EA again if I get a nice physical of Mass Effect Trilogy on my Switch. Until then, EA is dead to me 💀
So a not so remaster, way more expensive than other platforms, and months later to boot. Yep. Seems like a switch 3rd party title to me.
@nhSnork Fingers crossed. If they do this right, I'm in!
@mesome713 Now THAT’S something I rarely see. Especially on a Nintendo dedicated website! 😂
@Mgene15 Isnt it sad? The average title tends to be late (look at Doom Eternal, for example). It's no wonder third parties sell fewer copies on Nintendo consoles. And this is in addition to poorer performance much of the time.
Fantastic game, but the 2 key problems with it.
The price, it should be at least half the cost, and unfortunately I forgot how lack lusher the multiplayer is, you can't run any events outside of a simple race with other ppl, and the still confused me that didn't bother to add a line on the map for the race and still use the car indicator to know when to turn but if you miss a turn it doesn't tell you how to correct yourself.
tbh totally honest I would love a remaster of Burnout 3 instead.
The game is great. The controls are tight and each car feels different. The open world style steepens the learning curve, as on long races you'll have to check your map often to plan your route. But the beauty lies there too — there is no pre-planned route, so when you play the game for a long enough time you learn the streets and shortcuts, and feel properly badass. The open world helps fight off the staleness that comes with playing the same tracks over and over in other games.
I love this game but this price point is absolutely horrible. Before I knew the price I was sweating a little bit, expecting to drop $30 on a game I already own, but $50 is completely unconscionable. I would not recommend this game to a friend at this price.
