Re: Soapbox: Celebrating The Second Chance Saloon That Is The Nintendo Switch

BlueKnight07

For me, I've always been primarily a Nintendo gamer. I've had a gaming pc for the last few years, and most of that time has went into StarCraft II and Overwatch. Personally, I'm real glad to see these games finding their way onto Switch. Partly for me, but not all these games are my thing. I just want to see Nintendo get 3rd parties like they did in the NES/SNES days. There would be something good for everybody on Switch if it could just get there.

Re: Mammoth Super Bomberman R Update Goes Live With New Characters, Pets And A Grand Prix Mode

Just speaking about the game in general...if you like Bomberman you will most likely enjoy this. I bought it at launch and didn't feel cheated. The multiplayer is good. The campaign is not the most epic thing I ever played, but to look at comments I'm not sure what some people are really expecting out of Bomberman these days. I guess some people are thinking it should be priced like an indie title even though it's from Konami.

@ThanosReXXX just wanted to say I read your Sony story and don't blame you.

When I was a kid in the late 90s I used to hate Sony because I felt like they stole Mega Man, Final Fantasy, and others from Nintendo. I now know that's not exactly what happened, but it sure felt that way at the time.

Re: Wii U's Failure Is Responsible For Switch's Success, Says Reggie

BlueKnight07

@WaitroseDad64 I think you have the right understanding. Basically, whenever a game like Xenoblade or Mother 3 doesn't come to NA, he's usually the one answering questions and becomes a face for people to get angry with. I think his job is more about PR, marketing, distribution in NA. The amount of input he would have in getting games to NA has never been clear in my mind, though NOA does localize games. He also has a certain corporate aura about him that seems to draw derision.

I do think one the Wii U's biggest faults was the marketing...NOA could have done more at the time, I think.

Re: Review: Sonic Forces (Switch)

Not surprised. I haven't played every Sonic but with the ones I did I thought the problem was level design. The good 2D designs never translated well to 3D, to me at least. Sega really needs to let a fresh team look at it and start over from scratch.

Re: Reggie Fils-Aimé Targets an "Extra Nintendo Twist" for the Switch Online Service

BlueKnight07

I'm thinking online is the one thing most people wish would be more like Sony or Microsoft...but that's the price we pay for Nintendo's innovations elsewhere, I guess.

Reggie does have a point about 3DS, though. For all the talk about Switch, there will be quite a few families with insufficient funds this year. At least Pokemon and Samus Returns will be on the shelf for them.

Re: Anniversary: It's One Year Since Nintendo Showed Us The Switch

When I first saw, I was excited. Thought it it would do well, but wondering how third parties would do, how the software lineup will be. The amount of indie games available, support from Bethesda, and the holiday lineup in general is my biggest surprise. I'm still a little frustrated that Switch doesn't have some of the things that I'm used to (Virtual Console, YouTube, Netflix, etc.) but overall I'm happy.
