Some of you may recall Ittle Dew by Ludosity, which saw release on the Wii U eShop and a range of platforms. It was once pitched as a Legend of Zelda game to Nintendo, but eventually forged its own identity and arrived as a rather good game.
The re-jigged version of its successor, Ittle Dew 2+, is pleasingly very close to release. As previously confirmed Nicalis is stepping in to publish this one, and it's now got a final release date of 14th November.
Pleasingly that date is for both North America and Europe on the eShop, with the price set at $29.99 or €29,99. North America will also get the physical edition that includes "a full-color instruction booklet and a limited-edition map of the island". If you fancy picking that up here's the Amazon US pre-order link.

Do you like the look of Ittle Dew 2+?

Looking forward to it.
So excited for this one. Screw RiME, this is the Zelda clone you're looking for.
I never finished the first one, but I really enjoyed the little I played of it. I should probably go back and finish it and then pick up this one.
This game looks cool and I will most likely pick it up if it goes on sale someday, but man.... those sword swinging mechanics looks awkward in that video. The video just shows someone blindly swinging it and hoping to hit something. I hope this is more on the person playing and not the game itself!
No thanks at that price.
Too expensive...
@Ervex_109 Absolutely not. If you want to look at pretty things and be bored to tears, get RiME. If you actually want to play a game, get Ittle Dew 2+.
Another solid Nicalis physical release.
Yeah it's pricey but, its only $23.99 after GCU and it comes with the full color manual and map- a proper physical release.
I always said I would pay more if they would bring these games to physical format and do them right with manuals and everything. And I stand by that. I have bought every single one of their releases so far and I intend to continue doing so.
@JaxonH And if you've played the game on PC, the Switch version has brand new, super hard challenges in a new area called Dream World.
$14.99 Indie + physical release + Nicalis = $29.99 Eshop price
yep sounds about right.
@Yorumi I originally found out about the game through a YouTuber called Hutts who's really good at Binding of Isaac and Ittle Dew 2 kicked his ass haha. Game is definitely a challenge.
Too much to play right now, maybe later.
Looks cute. Maybe this will scratch a certain itch for people unsatisfied with BotW. Disappointed by the inflated eshop price, though.
How is this different from the PS4 release?
Complain all you want about pricing but Nicalis has really set the bar high for retail releases. Super nice instruction manual, extras etc.
@Tsurii Yeah, but if you've beaten A Link Between Worlds and are hungry for a new Zelda-like experience similar to that title, then this game might be perfect for such a person.
It would be nice if they could release the retail versions of Cave Story+, Tiny Barbarian DX, and Ittle Dew 2+ in EU for 29,99€.
And for this game especially it would have been great if they had included Ittle Dew 1 for many reasons (the high price, it was never released in my region on Wii U, many haven't played the first game).
Also, Nicalis should make the download versions at least 10 bucks cheaper.
It really seems the retail versions inflate the download price.
All good. Mid November cluster grows and never stops.
@Ervex_109 The fact that you've not even played it and are relegating it to App game level means talking about it with you is pointless.
@OorWullie The standard version has always been $20, before the Nicalis partnership, and this version has extra content.
Nicalis can certainly pick'em - they're pretty much guaranteeing a top-tier indie hit each time. But that pricing is just £10 too high each time, at the very least, especially for us in the EU who only get the eShop release. When you consider the likes of SteamWorld Dig 2, Golf Story and Sonic Mania going for half the price, it's hard to justify £30 for Cave Story or Ittle Dew2+. I'm on the fence for now - I definitely like the games they pick.
@tsdenizen Here are some games on the App Store just from this year alone: Oxenfree; Thimbleweed Park; Layton's Mystery Journey; Planescape Torment; Death Road to Canada; Ace Attorney Spirit of Justice; Cat Quest; Morphite; Forma 8; The Witness. You know what, that's a pretty high bar. Some of these are coming to Switch already, or are already ported - but I'd happily see Layton and Planescape join the party.
I'll get it but I don't like the artwork. Not a fan of cartoonish games.
@Tsurii This is a game that came out just last November and it also has additional gameplay (that's why there is a plus sign on the title). Don't compare it with a game that was made almost 25 years ago and the developers have been payed already for their work multiple times. €30 is absolutely fine. Developers of NEW games must be payed you know.
I heard people who played this preferred the first Ittle Dew to the sequel.
Oceanhorn is prettier, but the controls definitely get in the way of the fun of that game.
I'm glad Ittle Dew 2 is coming to switch.
I don't expect I'll buy it based on what I've read from the interwebs.
I would buy if it had the first game included, I liked what I played of that one.
Another shafting treatment of Europe by Nicalis. Gotta love them.
Ittle dew was really fun.
The presentation of Ittle Dew 2 looks so much better, the enemies look more varied and more of a challenge.
Visually it seems like a massive improvement on what was already a good game.
€30 though is just too expensive from my perspective.
A lot of the eshop games seem overpriced to me.
Really enjoy the first one so I'll definitely picking this one up as well.
Didnt even know a sequel was happening
Retail copy for certain!! Keep it Nicalis. Now where the heck is 90s super GP already?!? Seems like forever!!
@JaxonH I agree 300%!! On my radar! Retail always first!!
I had this pre-ordered, but the negative reviews on Steam put me off and I cancelled it. Speaking of, It cost $6 on Steam 2 weeks ago. Hard to swallow the price even if it does have some Switch extras.
I bought Cave Story & Tiny Barbarian...love them...just so unsure about this one.
I wish they'd bring the first one over, too.
I enjoyed the first one.
I think this is one I'll have to see the retail cart come down a bit before I bite. I bought the original on Wii U and enjoyed it but never finished it. Had more to do with the platform than the game.
I have not heard fantastic things about the sequel.
The physical release comes with a water resistant map? where are you supposed to be playing it? in the bath?
I got the game on Steam, but haven't found the time to play it.
It's also not the + version.
Tempted to get it on Switch now, even get the physical version imported.
mmmmm dat 15fps
