Nintendo is full of win today! The remake looks great and knowing that Prime4 is in the pipeline shows they havent forgotten about Samus.
I am hyped for the rest of the year. Starting with ARMs this friday, the software keeps coming regularly until the beautiful Super Mario Odyssey in late October. Debbie Downers can pound their chest all they want, these reveals are wonderful.
If true this would be absolutely amazing. Streaming isn't perfect, sure, but if I can play the smaller games in my PC library on my NS while on the home network....holy crap.
Along with cross-console play in Minecraft, this is some exciting stuff.
I've only ever played Fifa at a friends house years ago. If this has online play and my buddies pick it up, then so will I.
The idea of being able to take a beefier sports game on-the-go is the real draw for me. It's likely that EA knows this is a strength, hence all the wording around "portable console" instead of just lumping it in as a regular release alongside XBO/PS4 versions.
"Castlevania is getting its own show on Netflix and because of that, we’re hearing a lot of desires from our fans for a new Castlevania series."
Konami seems to get its breaking news from the year 2010. We've been asking for a new CV series since Lords of Shadow shambled onto the PS3/X360. Then Mirror of Fate happened and we asked yet again. Then LoS2 happened and we asked a third time! Now 7 years later, an unproven netflix show and large fan backlash finally get them to understand that Castlevania may sorta kinda possibly be liked by gamers.
How about starting with a simple CV collection covering the first game from '86 all the way to SotN in '97. That would be a nice start to getting into fans good graces.....then again they'd probably charge people $60 for it and add microtransactions
With a release after 2020 in Orlando, it's a long time away before I remotely care about this.
The big problem is creating no fanfare between now and 2020. Universal Orlando has done nothing to hint at Nintendo coming to their park. Even just AR cards placed on the floor of some stores and a small kiosk selling toys would be welcome. But nope, they keep pushing overpriced interactive wands and those tennis balls tied to a string......
I feel like they always pad the pricing of anything Tokyo RPG Factory makes. Setsuna should've been $30 with a few 50% discounts under its belt by now. Now this game is aiming for early next year, at $50, without knowing what E3 will reveal for their release schedule.
These devs keeps getting put out to pasture, SE has been really lame lately.
Doesn't this game have a whole mechanic about building your city? Would liken it more to Fantasy Life than Zelda.
3DS and vita games of previous years have burned me out on the chibi artstyle, done with it for good. Bring on the more challenging games where characters have necks and regular-sized heads
Btw, get rid of those video ads if you can NLife, it's bogging down your pages and making it a pain to comment.
So they're using the Mass Effect strategy. Release an expensive version of an incomplete trilogy that's been on every platform for much cheaper.
Simply put, Capcom is one of the most hardheaded JP gaming companies I've seen, second only to Konami. The NS will continue to sell well, USF2 won't, then they'll just look to porting MH: XX in hopes of making any money this year overseas.
Oh, the excuses will happen. Then when the publishers ask "why are our game sales low?" The devs will start releasing old ports that no one wants on NS
Get ready for full priced re-releases of ME: Andromeda and RE7....in 2018.
@Oorwullie Bloodstained is 2.5d, they're still using 3d models. Besides that, the game is going to be the biggest Igavania ever created. You really don't know what you're talking about.
Iga can take his time, I've played the beta and I'll gladly wait til it's done.
If it isnt 1:1 emulation I don't see the point. May as well just get a RasPi with installed emulators.
Personally, the big draw from the NES Classic is how well the games ran. Don't care if it had a small library, it's really the museum-quality handling. We need more systems that strive to reproduce antique-gaming at the highest possible quality.
If they want social competitive gaming to flourish on NS, they need to start reaching out to the Twitch folks and get an app running ASAP. Twitch on Switch...it's so obvious.
Nintendo needs to learn to not keep things so underwraps until a big gaming event. Gaming communities don't last in a situation like that, they splinter apart and it'll be the same situations all over again. SSB comes out, everyone loves it, too much lag for online play, the community splinters, then gamers are playing it separately amongst their groups of friends.
Where is voice-chat? Where are the apps that may help with creating tournaments or gaining friends interested in the same games? MK8Deluxe is great for social competitive gaming too, but Nintendo is too busy sucking on their toes and having us all wait til August for info on their paid subscription.
@nertak This game wasn't being made to "keep the lights on" though, so it isn't like it's the only form of income Inti Creates has.
What this hammers home is that a group of 35 were able to make a decent 3DS game and port it to the NS in half a year, where they were able to sell 80,000 downloads in 1-2 months.
...Can we get a digital release of this on Switch?
People keep fawning over physical releases that will likely put the publishers in a hole. Meanwhile, I just want to know if we'll get to play it on NS at all, because that video outlines releases for only Steam, PS4, and XBO.
This will come in handy when I'm switching between games and changing grip orders. I would like to be able to press it with another button so I can go to the home menu regardless of what joycon I'm holding.
So far that seems to be my biggest problem with the system. Switching grip orders for different co-op games and explaining what the buttons do. You can't say "press the A button" when someone is holding the L joycon
It isnt that crazy of an idea. Many companies release different iterations of their best selling electronics. Nintendo could be doing this to keep 3ds in front of developers eyes and likely at a small cost to them. Everyone here knows 3DS has a huge market.
That is a great first add-on in my opinion, nevermind that we still get more content at the end of the year.
I'm a little confused about the floating planks in hard mode, which is the most interesting thing about that mode. Hopefully unlocking the master swords true potential means its unbreakable, so I could play hard mode without having to worry about my weapons.
Eh, I'm good with digital. Hopefully that extra effort pays off, I personally don't see the point unless they've had hundreds of people saying "hey, upcharge me for a physical version please!"
Maybe it'll be a collector's edition around $25-$35.
Yay! League of Evil is a great game, will definitely pick it up for NS.
Hey look! People acting like all the videogame release news for 2017 has been given to them in the middle of April. As if E3 already happened and all NS is getting are indie games. Because having actual 3rd party support in the form of indie games is so EWWWWWWWW.
While it would be a nice addition to the NS library, I'm done with the FPS genre for the time being. Besides that, was never a fan of CoD.
I'd rather have 3rd party support in the form of new IPs, instead of just getting inferior ports of multi-platform games. How about any of the other developers under Activision: Raven Soft, Beenox, High Moon Studios, Vicarious Visions.....they've all worked on Nintendo systems before so it would be nice to have an original game pop up from any of these devs.
Who am I kidding though, 3rd parties nowadays only care about what kind of console-exclusive deals they can get while making games with little-to-no progression in mechanics or AI.
This guy is a fool. 3rd party support is absolutely needed for Nintendo and wanted by NS owners. WonderBoy, Blaster Master Zero, and I Am Setsuna are great examples. We need more developers willing to take advantage of a system with decent strength and the ability to go portable, it's a market any 3rd party can take advantage of...if some of them are smart they'll have NS software announcements at E3.
Simply put, Stardock has made nothing but PC shovelware...anything they say about console gaming just doesnt matter.
Completely worth it, TPHD is beautifully done. I hope this means Tantalus won't have to work so hard just to get Nintendo's attention in the future...we need Switch games and Tantalus port jobs are really good.
Awesome! The Switchening boosted much needed hardware sales to the games industry. Now they just need to keep the ball rolling, more hardware production and more software releases.
That's an absolutely great start. Gotta say MK8, Splatoon2, and Arms don't seem like games that can keep that momentum going on their own. E3 needs to have some great announcements for the Q3 and Q4 release schedules.
That's incredible for a March console launch. The Switchening continues, all Nintendo has to do is bring the software line-up during E3.
It'll be interesting to see if commercial 3rd party devs start jumping on the bandwagon. There's a pool of 2.4 million Switch owners that want to play good things, no more crying about install bases

Re: Nintendo of America Launches E3 2017 eShop Discounts
Yeah these could easily be picked up for nearly the same price or less via other stores.
Kinda wish they launched another Nindie humble bundle with a couple NS games thrown in.

Re: Monster Hunter: World Confirmed for Rival Platforms, is Skipping Nintendo Switch
I think it's great that MH is finally releasing on PS4/XBO/PC. The details are what will really matter for me with this one.
What was that green sparkly thing that the player kept doing?
Will it have a F2P model?
Are the newer weapons going to be in?
Re: Nicalis Confirms Tiny Barbarian DX And Ittle Dew 2+ For Switch
Yay! Tiny Barbarian is great, can't wait to get it on NS.

This was a great read, played out kind of like a paper & pen adventure game. Good job sir!
Re: Press Release Suggests E3 Nintendo Spotlight Will be About 30 Minutes
That's fine with me, gamers need to temper their expectations though.
Re: Video: Nintendo Makes Pitch for the 'Switch Summer' of Major Releases
Nintendo is lining up a perfect summer of competition. I am all in, here's hoping they have something special stashed away for an E3 reveal.
@sligeach_eire The word "Fall" to mean Autumn comes from ancient German or Norse languages

Just bought Owlboy on PC, I'll easily double dip for a Switch version.

Re: Random: German Tech Blog Imagines What The PlayStation Switch Would Look Like
I'd honestly like to see Microsoft try their hand at a Switch-like portable. Similar to a Surface Pro, but more videogame focused.
Would be nice to be able to play original xbox and x360 games on it.

Picked it up on release, definitely a fun throw-back game. Fits perfectly alongside WonderBoy.
@joey302 I agree, like saying they got good returns for a 3rd party release on one Nintendo console.

Fifa and nba2k18 alone means it's already getting better support than WiiU. This is great news, E3 will be interesting.

"Turtles In Time" and "Zombies Ate My Neighbors" would more than justify an SNES mini purchase. I'd pick those up on any VC in a heart beat.

Re: Mr. Shifty Devs Tackling Frame Rate Issues After Initially Suggesting You Should Pick Steam Over Switch

Re: Nintendo Switch Hardware Sales Grow in Japan as Monster Hunter Stays at Number One
