Re: Switch Could Get Kingdom Hearts III, But Only After Announced Versions Are Released

Berto_Gamut

First of all, KH3 is made in Unreal Engine, which is scalable. I'm betting it'll get an NS release alongside PC. Why? Because SE wants sales and releasing on a handheld will sell like gangbusters in japan. If the game is really good, it could become an evergreen title.

Can't compare this to DQH2, Omega Forces and SE Business Division are completely different developers. Engines are also very different. Someone loves to spout nonsense without checking info...

Re: Feature: Castlevania Show Producer Adi Shankar On Respecting Fandom And Future Seasons

Berto_Gamut

Dude is a gamer through and through, they couldn't have put Castlevania or Assassin's Creed in better hands. Also interested in seeing this Gods and Secrets thing.

Can we also give Trevor Morris, the 2 time Emmy winning composer, some credit here? The soundtrack was great, even if it didn't play up on nostalgia for the sake of nostalgia. I can't imagine one section in this season where the iconic songs would've been used to full effect. Gamers apparently want to hear "bloody tears" when Trevor is drinking in a tavern.....maybe wait for them to actually get to Dracula's castle.

Re: Oddworld Creator Lorne Lanning "Has No Faith" In Switch

Berto_Gamut

This guy has done nothing but port his Oddworld games over and over. To the point where they had to hire another developer entirely to create New N Tasty (which should've been renamed Oddworld: Clunky N Boring).

All you have to do is look at the DS/3DS line to see how well 3rd parties can do on a system when they try. Not a bunch of me-too re-releases that have to be "day and date" as all other platforms.

Whatever, it won't stop here. All these people know that their only way of making headlines is to down-talk the NS while it keeps selling like hotcakes. It reeks of a PR push created to distance gamers from the Switch.

Re: It's "A Bit Sad" That Switch Isn't More Powerful, Says THQ Nordic

Berto_Gamut

He's just wigging out because they promised Kickstarter backers an NS release and Nintendo doesn't just let you dump 10+GB of uncompressed files onto their system.

Of course it isn't going to be a PS4 or XBO. And thank god for that because I don't need three identical consoles competing with eachother for the exact same crap. Variety is good. Two systems are teaching developers to make bloated games (gotta fill up your HDD ASAP) even to the point of now adding 4K textures when people with regular HDTVs won't see any of that detail. Nintendo doesn't need to enter that rat race, they're bringing gaming to a wider audience....beyond the 30-something dudebros.

Don't expect Darksiders3 on NS any time around its release.

Re: Sledgehammer Games Has a Definitive Answer on Call of Duty: WWII for Nintendo Switch - "No"

Berto_Gamut

That's fine with me, no one should expect the heavier games to have a direct NS port, especially from Activision. Maybe some sort of spin-off or as someone mentioned up top, a release of the Modern Warfare remaster would be nice.

And no, this doesnt mean that NS gamers are clamoring for weaker 3rd party support. We want games, but expecting a game that was announced at the end of April to all of a sudden have NS support is completely unreasonable.

I'm sure they're looking to stay away for now. Skylanders Imaginators on NS likely sold like crap (and for good reason, it sucks). Honestly, if their idea of support are shoddy ports of their toys-to-life games....good riddance. Give us Crash Bandicoot, then I'll care about Activision.

Re: Nintendo's Market Capitalisation Overtakes Sony's Following Switch Success

Berto_Gamut

Makes sense, the Playstation brand is the strongest thing Sony has going, even that could be in danger as they start mixing in PSVR and 4Pro hardware.

PC division tanked, their electronics are constantly being out-done by other companies, blu-ray is all but dried up as 4K/UHD sales grow, and their entertainment division isnt doing them any favors (the new Spider-Man may help change that slightly).

Re: Reggie Fils-Aimé Defends Nintendo's Indie Support and AM2R Policy

Berto_Gamut

It all makes perfect sense so long as you understand what these things mean. Judging by the comments, very few understand what a commercial product is or what trademarking is. But dangit, they want their armchair business decisions to be heard! Even if they make no sense!

I definitely prefer Samus Returns existing and releasing in September.

"Improvements to prevent unintended HDMI input change with certain TVs while the console is docked in Sleep Mode"

Yay, I've been forced to unplug the NS from my TV because of this.

Besides that, kinda wish they added more icons for the announced E3 games, but still a great update.

Re: ARMS Grabs Second Place in the UK Charts

Berto_Gamut

@nintysnesman Can't speak for everyone but I'm still very much enjoying the games and having fun. Enthusiasts just like to talk about sales projections too, a kind of guessing game that proves itself true or false eventually down the line.

Re: We Know There's An Appetite For Virtual Console On Switch, Says Reggie Fils-Aime

Berto_Gamut

They should've lined up a definitive answer for this and app support from services like netflix and hulu. I wish they showed some enthusiasm from the folks at NVIDIA too.

While they had a great presentation with exciting announcements for 2017 and 2018, they're still walling the NS off considerably. No news on app support other than the PC streaming app, nothing in the form of discounts on software for the new console, no humble bundle that could've spanned across 3DS/WiiU/NS systems, and the VC/online subscription gets vague PR speech.

Love all the E3 tournaments though, that was fun and promoted the community.

Re: Poll: What Did You Think of Nintendo's Big Switch and 3DS Reveals at E3 on Day One?

Berto_Gamut

It was great. Also not sure how much 3rd party support people are expecting but it's pretty solid for year1. Skyrim, mario+rabbids, samus returns being handled by MercurySteam, Rocket League, and Minecraft getting the cross-platform update.

4 games and a huge update in 2017, not including indie. Besides that, Reggie said they have more 3rd party announcements in the next couple of days.
