Honestly, I was kind of underwhelmed by 2D mode on the 3DS. It was like playing a GBA port of a GameCube game.

@Heavyarms55 It depends on the game/console for me. Turok: Rage Wars had inverted aiming, with no option to disable it, so I was kind of forced to get used to it. I play a lot of N64 FPS that way, now.

Oh good, I'm not the only one who hated the terrible AI in this game.

@TheLightSpirit If that's the game I think it is, the PSX version was basically unplayable. You really have to play it on the Dreamcast.

@Wavey84 I kind of drifted away from YT when Google started implementing the filter bubble. I'll still go there to search out specific things, but the days of "YT spiral" are long gone...my "related videos" feed is full of nothing but trending garbage and one Steam Powered Giraffe music video.

I liked the first two Dark Forces games a lot better. Jedi Outcast had super broken AI, and the forced auto-aiming doesn't let you lead your targets. But I suppose both points are moot once you get the light-sabre.

@ComposedJam Hero Mode fixes that, although IMO, it's kind of frustrating until you get more empty bottles.

@EarthboundBenjy When I bought a bunch of games at SquareEnix's shop (think it was Black Friday), they did have V, but not VI. Shame I never grabbed them when they were new I did manage to find VI at GameStop, but it was loose and cost me $30...hopefully it's not a pirate copy.

@thatawesomedude N64 did get later revisions, IIRC their chipsets don't support RGB video output. I believe they came out with the translucent shells. And yeah, those Game Cubes do count.

Even GBCs, I've opened up a few and found different branded parts inside.

I don't get as many Street Passes as I used to, but I still bring it nearly everywhere I go. Switch Lite still isn't going to be small enough for your pocket.

Last I heard, they disabled the app because it had exploit vulnerabilities in it, and they never bothered to fix it and put it back up...but I just use it in the browser instead...like others have said, it works way better.

I use it a lot, it's especially nice for running 2x speed through how-to videos, reviews, unboxings, etc. that take forever to get to the point.

Hulu+ already dropped support for the WiiU a while back

@Galarian_Lassie I don't know about the Old 3DS, but on the New 3DS, you have to enable "Request Mobile Sites" for YouTube to work.

Nintendo handhelds have been having issues since at least the SP...not sure about the original GBA, but the microswitches in the R and L buttons are nefarious for failure. In addition, the 3DS line also has major issues with the face buttons failing to make contact, since the XL line (OG 3DS might be different). I had one model sent in and fixed, but I have two more out of warranty, I'm going to fix them myself.

I don't know if President Bowser is just being ignorant, or if they're trying to sweep the WiiU under the rug, because that console has supported streaming since DAY ONE. For those who don't know, all audio and video is actually streamed from the console itself to the Gamepad.

Joke's on you, Darren. I'm actually reading this article and replying to it on my 3DS There are countless games available that I'm still playing (not to mention the homebrew), whereas the Switch has four games that interest me, and only one of them has been released yet.

I will definitely need to get a Switch Phat before BotW2 hits, though. Maybe the rumored "Pro" version will be out by then.

@Majora101 Unfortunately, the DS only supports GBA cartridges, not GB. You'll have to find an older handheld to play the original Red on.

If you have an N64 flash cart (and a Transfer Pak), there's a homebrew utility that allows you to back up your GB/C ROMs and save files; including the Game Boy Camera!

I finally tried DarkSiders a few weeks ago, but couldn't really get into it. Maybe it gets better later, but the beginning was too linear and bland for me.
Dark Souls is a lot more like Zelda, except they put all the buttons in the wrong places.

I always thought that ZSNES already had this option, but it never seemed to do anything when I enabled it.

They need to do SuperFX next...some emus already support overclocking it, which is pretty nice.

I've played it with d-pads before, and Joycons, and neither was great. Usually I prefer d-pads, but Smash was kind of designed to be analogue.

TBH, the 16-bit mode is very underwhelming. It's cute at first, but the cutscenes and animations are mostly static.

I got the game for free on the 360, and it doesn't let you change ANY of the buttons. I got tired of hitting the wrong thing (and getting killed because of it) and gave up pretty quick. I had the same issue with BotW though...so maybe it can be overcome...

Lol, I guess there go our hopes of seeing a lot of popular tables getting converted (like the ones TPA doesn't have).

People arguing that it's only cosmetic need to actually read the article: he stated that any table with any sort of gambling theme is going to have to have that gameplay element removed. So tables like Jack-Bot? Probably not happening at all.

Honestly, probably my least favorite Zelda game :X Still a good game, but a lot of it always felt very tedious and proto-3D to me (even the text speed is painfully slow). 3DS version has a shiny coat of paint, but doesn't hold the nostalgia of the original.

@impurekind He was pretty vocal with his disappointments over Chicken Wiggle sales, kept blaming the eShop platform.

Personally, nothing about the game really grabbed me, so I never bought it. It wasn't the eShop's fault, it just didn't look like my type of game, and I'm sure plenty of other people felt the same.

I thought about grabbing it when he said he was going to put it on a fire sale, but that never happened.

@MeloMan They probably just took the "guts" out of the machine and put in Popeye guts. It was pretty common for arcade machines to have conversion kits, upgrades, etc.
