Oh awesome, I was just thinking about this the other day. There was an older emulator on the original DS, the screen is obviously almost twice as small as the Mac's, but it wasn't really all that bad to play around with.
The PS4 version of the game uses Unreal Engine 4, so my guess is that Epic hasn't ported the engine to the NX (yet?), and Enix has to either license a different one, write their own, or reuse an older one, etc.
With that being the case, the game will NOT have the same graphics as the PS4 version, and that has absolutely nothing to do with Nintendo's hardware.
@Arngrim That's funny, I was wondering why there were a few games with the same sprites. I think there was another game like that, Hack Slash Loot maybe? Maybe not?
I have this on PC, but haven't tried yet. Would be nice to have some more handheld Roguelikes.
"the wimpy turtles in the comic book", they must have been talking about the later comics that were spun-off from the cartoon show. The original Turtles were not wimpy.
Would be nice if they had the Japanese covers too, for comparison. I'm curious, now.
It's cute, but if I wanted to buy actual NES carts...I would just go out and buy actual NES carts...which I do quite often... Don't know why everyone is making such a fuss.
Nintendo couldn't do it this way, anyway. I'm sure someone would find a way to circumvent the chip reader and get it to unlock every game.
@earthboundlink Unfortunately, they are all pretty garbage, unless you play with the audio on mute and use an original gamepad. The handheld one might be a decent trade-off, IMO, if you could actually find the $25 Black Friday sale before they sell out.
I just bought a modchip for my Saturn, about a year ago. They weren't hard to find. But this will be useful for devs, hopefully we see more translations in the future.
Not surprising that Sega lost the source to PDS. At some point, everything went into dumpsters, even our dear hedgehog. They sure could've used source when they ported Sonic to the GBA
I'm so glad to hear that only part of the game will have voice acting. I was worried before, but now I'm pumped. I don't mind voice acting in more action oriented games, but in games like RPGs, dialogue takes up a good portion of the game. It really bugs me to hear them get halfway through a line before I'm finished reading the whole paragraph. A, A, A, A, A, no thank you I don't want to hear it again, bye.
Would be interesting to have it preserved, but no, I wouldn't personally be interested in playing it. I'm not ready to hack my WiiU yet, and playing the demo would probably only make me more impatient for the final release.
@NintendoEan The way it's worded, it certainly could be a new RPG featuring characters who have never been in an RPG before...but probably not. We'll find out by the end of the day.
@Yorumi "You couldn't see the terrible plot(if you can even call it that) the holes, the ham fisted line delivery, and everything else?" That's exactly why some of us love the movie. Granted, I would have much preferred to see it with the original script, though. IMO, the darkness, and the post-apocalyptic dressing is what really makes the movie. @shaneoh I thought the first Hitman movie was actually pretty faithful to the games, although it would be much more faithful if there were a Director's cut without those terrible scenes Sony added in post >_< Like that really stupid scene of the clones sword fighting at the train station. What the heck??
@DarkmarkUnited There's a few SNES games that run okay on the DS, depending on how many graphical glitches you're okay with (DS hardware doesn't support enough layers), but SNES emulation on the GBA is not good at all.
@nab1 I'm not sure about the arcade games, but the Genesis/MD titles are all running in M2's patented GigaDrive emulator. All they did was expand the ROMs to support 3D (and some extras in Sonic, like the spin dash).
It actually requires a lot more horsepower to emulate the SNES, due to the more powerful graphics. although some emulators (like the ones AtGames uses) have trouble with Sega's Yamaha audio >_<
Collectables are only worth what people are willing to pay for them. I can see getting rarities graded, because it gives buyers a little extra assurance that they're bidding on the real deal, but getting any old game graded probably isn't worth it.
@crazycrazydave Actually, videogame grading has been going on for quite a few years now, before Amiibos were around.
Wow, everyone just automatically assumes the passwords will be for saving, and also that will be the only way you can save your progress. I'm imagining something more like the passwords for the free-to-play Pokemon games, where you find a password on their Twitter page and it gives you a free Mew. Or the Zelda Oracle games used passwords for linking your data over to to the other game after you beat one of them.
@ogo79 Oh yeah, would be awesome to see Ultimate Journey. Unlike most unreleased protos, that one seems like it might actually be fun to play. I also really want to see NES Sim City, but I have my doubts about that ever happening.
Wow, am I the only one who reads Nintendo's emails? Half the time I get news there before I get it here, and sometimes they send you free stuff. Getting Platinum coins is a nice bonus.
@ThanosReXXX It's not the size of the screen, it's the resolution, and the resampling algorithm used. I just find it way too squished and blurry on the 3DS, whereas on the WiiU the resolution is almost five times higher, and I think the art is one of the best parts about the game. But I'm not disappointed. If one enjoys the 3DS version, and/or doesn't have anything else to play it on, I guess that's cool.
Although it seems to be pretty buggy no matter what platform you choose.
I bought the WiiU version instead. Tried the demo of the 3DS port, I'm sorry but it just isn't any good. They needed to zoom in, or do a proper down-res on the art, because it all just looks smudged and blurry.
Pretty sure this is not English. Seems more like a bad translation, and "play" was the closest word they could find...which, in this context, is not a noun...yet? Try replacing it with other verbs, and it's just as non-sensical: "There's no perform like it."
@dronesplitter The nice thing about secondary exploits is that once you have them installed, they will take you straight into the Homebrew Launcher. Primary exploits, from my experience, tend to be a bit unstable. Browserhax gave me about 50% success rate. But you're right, once you update, you're out of luck.
@Sean_Aaron The WiiU version looks better? Seriously? I thought the graphics looked a tiny bit dated, and figured it was just because it was a port of a 360 game from 2012 (and their other Pinball Hall of Fame games are even older). Cool though, if that's true.
@TossedLlama Not to mention, the string tension is sure to destroy that case pretty quick, especially since she put the bridge right on the vents. Didn't watch the video to see if she put any kind of bracing on the inside.
@MC808 The smaller white New 3DS has been out in USA for a while now. I have the one that came with Happy Home Designer, I love it. @Nintendian Wooooah, I didn't even think of that, I have to try that ASAP. Code of Princess is awesome, but that framerate, even in 2D mode, is pretty bad. I only checked a couple of titles on the Hans compatibility list, and none of them were supported, so I didn't skim the whole thing.
@hYdeks Those replacement sticks are supposed to have issues. There are mods you can buy that are supposed to improve them, but by that point you've put quite a bit of money into it.
I wonder how this Kickstarter will compare to the parts kitsch-bent is making. I'm not sure if they're not out yet or just out-of-stock, I haven't been watching. Would love to get my Jungle Green controller working again. That thing is super loose, and I took pretty good care of it.
Edit: I just watched their video. He's only making the stick and bowl, and Kitsch-Bent is only selling the gears, so hopefully this'll be a perfect fit.
I agree, takes way too much time to mine enough Picrites to do anything. I wouldn't mind so much if there were other things to do, or if it wasn't the easiest Picross game ever made. I guess at least it isn't as bad as Pushmo or Pokemon Shuffle.
I see people complaining about the shipping charges, and I wonder if they are aware of how much these games were selling for only a few months ago. I'm sure between this and the Black Friday sale, resellers are going to be racking up a fortune after S/E's stock runs out. I'm surprised what I wanted was in-stock this time. Didn't have a job when DQ4 and 5 remakes launched, now I can finally own them. Maybe some day they will stock DQ6. Figured I'd grab FF3 while I was at it.

@ThanosReXXX Oh, so they -do- have UE4 for NX? I guess that throws my theory out the window, then.
Re: Dragon Quest XI Confirmed For Nintendo NX, For Real This Time
