I don't know what everyone is talking about, this game looks -nothing- like BotW!! ...
... ¬_¬
All joking aside, I literally almost choked on my water when Kid Icarus whipped out the Sheika Slate and used the Magnesis Rune. GF will probably want this, so I'm sure I will play it, but I hope there are options to turn off all the hand-holdy bits. Way too much UI there, and the footage during the countdown timer looked like the game probably has forced tutorials.
Looks like like Monaco...if Monaco had a lot less things to do. @Agramonte Hitman 3's only $9 on Steam, way less during a sale. Pretty decent game, but obviously a rush job.
Having it in HD would be nice, but if there's no motion controls then I'm not interested. Also don't let the same company who did TP do this one. WW was so much better.
"I reckon in around a year’s time, the eShop is going to look like the App Store – tons of cheap-looking titles that were clearly thrown together in the space of a few months" He wrote this a year ago, right? Because this is exactly what the eShop looks like to me. And I thought the 3DS eShop was bad!!
@Caryslan That's gotta be SNES, not NES. Too many colors. NES only allows 3 colors per sprite (plus transparent). Would be interesting to see more of the NES proto, though. Same with SMW.
But does it adhere to the proper GBA color space? Because the official 101 does not. Like the DS Lite, all colors will be oversaturated. Barf. I've also heard that some of these replacement screens have refresh issues.
The GB Micro does it right, so does the GB Player (IIRC) and the 3DS. The "phat" DS does too, but the contrast is a bit more washed out looking.
@UmbreonsPapa I don't think Wii Sports Club has -ever- been at a decent price. I saw it at Family Video a while back for $10 and snatched it up without thinking twice.
Would be cool to see the older games in the New SMB engine, like fans have done. Or, I guess at this point, they would just do it in Maker. But we'll see. The 3D games will probably be in HD with high-res textures...not sure about 64, since that one's been remade already.
I haven't seen Captain Marvel yet, because Disney's Marvel movies are all the same, but I love her. Celebrities are always going to be dragged through the mud for having a strong opinion.
Our local Japan expo (end of June) is in the same boat. I know for a lot of people, having a last-minute cacellation is going to be really hard, but I think most of us are optimistic that the situation will be behind us in three months, and/or are cautiously and carefully moving forward.
I wish I could've gotten into this game, but after the GBC games, this one felt like they added way more stuff to do in a day, but only five minutes to do it all in. I really lost interest when I discovered that dating is nearly impossible without a guide: turns out my girl had too many hearts, and I was supposed to treat her poorly to lower her hearts, and then, by pure luck, I had to figure out what time on what day I had to bump into her in a specific location to trigger a cutscene before we culd move onto the next stage. WTF???
CV64 and Simon's Quest should be higher. The DS games should be lower. Dracula X should be WAY lower. AoS #1? I don't know...
Many of the games are way better with hacks and/or translations, though I know that isn't the point of this list (2, 3, and 4 were much better in Japan, IMO).
For the record, I thought SotN was alright, but not as good as the GBA sequels. Rondo of Blood is definitely way up there, but it's hard to judge the old-school CVs versus the Iga Metroidvanias.
The first movie always has to introduce the origin story, for the 1% of Earth's population who don't know that Danky Kang is a blue anthropomorphic hedgehog who can run very fast. The other 99% will be pleasantly surpised with the sequel, but will wonder who this yellow flying creature is.
But you have to convert what Detective Pikachu made into 2020 money, first.
Sonic movie spent too much time driving in a truck, but was otherwise pretty decent...honestly, the ending + post-credits made it all worth it (so the sequel had better be amazing). Pikachu was a more entertaining romp, but had a pretty terrible ending.
IIRC, the base game took me about 180 hours to finish every side-quest...and I took my sweet time! I bought the DLCs after that, they didn't add quite as many hours as I had hoped...I think I spent more time just trying to beat the stupid Master Sword trials >_<
I'm getting the total opposite in Twilight Princess HD, at the moment...I don't know if the remake just screwed things up, but I don't remember the game being so stressful and frustrating. It has its moments here and there, but it's definitely not the relaxing ocean voyage that Wind Waker was...maybe it's just because my muscle memory keeps trying to press Majora's Mask buttons, but I keep finding myself anxious to move onto Skyward Sword.
The original, ORIGINAL Star Trek game on computers was hugely popular, and still a lot of fun today, once you figure out how to play it (and at one point, even carried an official license). Atari ported it to the 2600, renaming it "Stellar Track"...to say it is "clunky" would be too kind, but you may have heard of Atari's other attempt, a little game called called Star Raiders Both games are available on the Nintendo DS.
Depending on how far you want to go down the rabbit hole, Star Raiders spawned many imitators (like Elite) which would find their way onto Nintendo consoles. I know we used to have Star Voyager on the NES (originally called Cosmo Genesis in Japan).
@bolt05 Yeah, it's fiddly though. You have to link the ISOs to your Wiimote, and last time I tried it, I remember it having issues with the screen ratio (I want to say every game was forced into widescreen).
@Pod Torchlight definitely has random dungeons, but I haven't played the second game, so cannot confirm. I've only been a few hours into Diablo III, but from what I played, the dungeons look like they're built from prefab tiles, but they're always the same.
@JasmineDragon I agree, it's strange that they chose the DMG Game Boy, especially when the Game Boy Color was in full swing at the time. I hadn't realized before what year the proto had come out.
@Pod Yeah, no random dungeons, but most Diablo clones are lacking them. I never played Diablo II, but I've heard that only some of the dungeons in that game were random.
@Pod Cave Noir has random dungeons...there's quite a few Mystery Dungeon games, but most aren't in English...and GBA has some, but I haven't played most of them...I know there's a watered down port of Baldur's Gate Dark Alliance...maybe the LotR games are kind of like that, too?
It's too bad they couldn't find another way, but any sideways glance at eBay will show you that pirate cartridges are rampant. I'm always wary of buying products with no photos, and it's surprising that Amazon doesn't think it's important at all.
It was a bummer for me, as I was still using it. It wasn't a very well put-together app (didn't even support the touch screen), but at least it worked...and the newer "neon unicorn colors" Hulu app is incredibly difficult to navigate.

WiiU can play GC games too, but it's super fiddly, especially since the drive won't read the discs, so you have to rip them to ISO first.
