Funky

Elite Beat Agents was one of the more unique titles in the Nintendo DS library, offering a fun combination of rhythm action and engaging narrative. Based on the import release Osu! Tatakae! Ouendan, the title never got a proper sequel in the west (although Moero! Nekketsu Rhythm Damashii: Osu! Tatakae! Ouendan 2 was released in Japan), but creator Keiichi Yano says that he would love to rectify that - and that he's just waiting for the right time.

Speaking to Polygon, Yano said:

I have a great relationship with Nintendo.

There will be a right time, when it feels like it should come back. A lot of times, the platform will dictate those kind of things. I think people have an idea - "if this game was on this platform, it would be perfect and it would be like this" - those are the times when it's right to have that kind of a comeback.

I'd certainly love to make another version of it and hopefully it's the next platform.

The "next platform" presumably means NX, and given his close relationship with Nintendo, there's a good chance that Yano has already seen what the machine looks like.
