Problem with this is I plan to crack open the Wii u for winter (less sunshine interfering with my wiimote) and play this. Not going to re-invest if it comes out shortly after that!
I still look at these and think it's a wasted opportunity. Give them a connection to the eshop and gradually release more games for them. Do what Sony did with PS1 classics and make a purchase playable on switch as well and you have mega bucks coming in. Do it in conjunction with the online service so give people an opportunity to own games as well
I was lucky to play this the other day and it is indeed great. I would say 7.5 out of 10.
My main critique is that the boards are a little small. I miss the sprawling ones of 5 and 6. That said they do suit shorter play times and I just don't have time to play much longer than an hour (10 rounds) anymore
I'm starting to get this more but I'm still disappointed it's not the mobile release which had the extra characters and special stage... Pull that in as well and I'll definitely buy
I have had PlayStation plus for the last 7 years so have a massive backlog of games.
I try to do a one in, one out rule but almost always fail. I've also tried not to buy too many switch games as I want to "finish" the Wii u.
I do agree though, I used to play games over and over but now I complete once and move on, even if there are multiple endings. It's a shame. Been playing Shenmue and I'm struggling with the feeling of wasting time, despite the fact that was something I loved about it first time around
I wonder whether the sonic 2 version will be the original or the mobile port that had additional features? Hoping for the additional features personally but unlikely if it's M2.
Games I want: Sonic series Panzer dragoon series - especially Saga Shining force 1-3 Shining the holy ark
@Spectra yeah I hope they make this more accessible too. So horrible playing with 1 other person or single player. Always wanted to play but none of my mates were interested in gaming at the time!
I said this with the Wii game. It's madness they don't just release dlc every 4 or 6 months. Just a pack of 4 tracks would work and people would lap it up (pun not intended!)
Not fussed with character. Just more tracks please. Retro ones are fine too!
See I think this is classic Nintendo. Some of their brands they push out the best quality, but many of the others are just filler. They never think customer first, always what they want to put out.
The success of "games as a service" means we'll see more of this I think
When they start adding SNES games I'm in. Before that nah. Nes doesn't cut it. That said most of the SNES games I love are by other publishers, so maybe it's n64/gc
I honestly just want the game to be good! The last few were so disappointing, trying to change the formula too much. Go back to Mario party 5/6 and they are still so great!
Damn. Looks like I might need to get this just to support the future.
If I were squenix I would be releasing ports alongside this. Let's get all the old FF games on switch, the mana collection, as well as some of their lesser played series like Saga.
I really want the switch to be an RPG powerhouse like the GBA and the DS before it
Personally I think this gives publishers great opportunity to improve classics - frame rate, glitches etc. But there is also the risk of a shoddy port... I don't think the VC name needs to continue, just give them somewhere that makes sense to live on the eshop
I said this with the Wii u and I'll say it for the switch. Publishers need to be careful of porting old or inferior versions of games. I can see lots of requests for tomb raider and batman arkham, but most people who will want to have played those games will already have them. It's got to be a good reason to rebuy. LA noire is a good example. Skyrim is iffy. Doom I imagine it hadn't hit sales potential before being announced.
That said my top ports I want on switch are: Persona 5 (and 4 ultimax - don't understand why it wasn't on vita!) Mario Sunshine Mother 3 Tales of (back catalogue stuff or the ps4 games) MGS twin snakes
A part of me would like to see squenix port the final fantasy back catalogue so the whole series is playable on one console but i know it's unlikely and I'm also unlikely to rebuy many of them if any - especially new sprite versions!
They do have a history of charging premiums for content Vs other publishers (Mario run?) And could do with just pushing that cost down slightly. The €30 xenoblade dlc is in line with other similar games I think, though it does put me off playing until it's "finished".
Where I want Nintendo to do more is games it makes sense. We're unlikely to get Mario kart 9 on switch so let's have regular dlc tracks for it - every 6 months 2-4 cups, doesn't even have to be new, could be retro tracks. I'd buy every time. They could do something similar for smash Bros but I do think that has a life span on dlc.
With regards to amiibo - personally I think the content needs to be exclusive otherwise I won't buy it. Though I'd be interested to see what would happen if they opened up that content as dlc as well, what would sell better...
I'd love a Tales of collection - there's a lot of games stuck in Japan, plus I haven't gotten to zestiria or berseria yet so would prefer a switch version!
I'd also be up for a Digimon game, and I'd Def buy Ni no kuni on switch over ps4 if the performance is good.
However I expect another dbz fighter. Meh. Dbz rpgs I enjoy though!
If they rereleases shining force 3 I would buy immediately. I desperately want a way to play these games on the go. I must have completed scenario 1 twenty times!
Shining force 4 would be amazing as well, possibly the only way to get interest up for a re-release
I hope this isn't most of the games being listed. It needs to be very recent or people will already own it. Part of the reason publishers stopped porting to Wii u is that consumers already had the game on another console.
Think about it. 60m ps4s have been sold. Plus about 20-30m Xbox one's. The Switch is a second console for people. If they wanted to play Batman, most people would have bought it already. Yes there will be some new users and some double dippers but it's just going to flop.
FF12 might be slightly different because it's still very early on in the games life and people might be waiting for a price reduction or to finish another game maybe.
I really want the core P5 for switch. The persona games for me are handheld, so a bit gutted that hasn't happened. Still need to get into the spin offs. Wasn't a massive fan of EO so PQ was the one I was least interested in.

Re: The First Two Panzer Dragoon Games Are Getting Remade
YES!!!!!
Very excited. I they better be good remakes though
Re: Joker From Persona 5 Joins The Battle As The First DLC Character In Super Smash Bros. Ultimate
I'm hoping Atlus see that people want Persona 5 on Switch. In fact I'd love a Persona collection! Including the spin offs as well

Re: Feature: 20 Dreamcast Games We'd Love To See On Nintendo Switch
Isn't Grandia 2 already confirmed for switch?
Also skies of Arcadia would be the dream. Definitely the GC version though.
I would have loved Shenmue but I already supported the ps4 version
Re: SEGA AGES Sonic The Hedgehog 2 Might Be The Best Version We've Ever Had
Let's hope for some of the mobile improvements - bring on hidden palace zone!

How's WEWY doing on the eshop though? I want to support but a bit tight on cash

NO BEZELS!

Re: Jet Set Radio Series Tops Sega AGES Poll As Most Wanted Retro Release
2-6. YES
Re: Video: Take A Look At Square Enix's Trailers From The 2018 Tokyo Game Show
I think I'll get most of these and retire my Vita.
I do need to get on playing romancing saga 2. Glad they are porting some of their other franchises that are a bit more obscure! Bahamut Lagoon anyone?
Re: Wireless NES Controllers Won't Work With Other Games On Nintendo Switch
Oh Nintendo. This is a classic move. Why not just make everything accessable??? Yes it's a bit harder but come on!
Re: Video: Five Features Included With The Nintendo Switch Online Membership
Not yet. Needs SNES games at least before I am in.

Re: Tales of Vesperia: Definitive Edition Secures A January Release Date On Switch
This may be a pre-order for me. I'd love to see some more tales games on switch...

Re: Talking Point: What Are You Playing This Weekend? (September 8th)
I recently started playing Bravely default. Loving it so far! Still on chapter one so still a ways to go!
Re: Sega Releasing Original Valkyria Chronicles Game On Switch This October
So I've tried this game 3 times on PS3... I really want to like it but I lose interest...
Should I try again on switch? I feel portable mode might help me (it usually does with other jrpgs)
Re: Talking Point: Should Nintendo Keep Releasing DLC For Mario Kart 8 Deluxe?
I said this with the Wii game. It's madness they don't just release dlc every 4 or 6 months. Just a pack of 4 tracks would work and people would lap it up (pun not intended!)
Not fussed with character. Just more tracks please. Retro ones are fine too!
Re: Review: Captain Toad: Treasure Tracker (Switch)
If this had more content or an expansion was announced I'd be in. Otherwise no need to double dip.

Re: Review: de Blob (Switch)
I hope this does well. It's a great game that deserves a good audience. Not sure how it sold originally on the Wii though
Re: Nintendo Is Banning Switch Game Cards To Combat Piracy, Potentially Killing The Second-Hand Market
Isn't this illegal in EU law? I'm sure there was a big case a couple years ago about 2nd hand games? Could be wrong though.
Does this mean there's a potential risk to the region free functionality as well?
Re: Captain Toad: Treasure Tracker Appears To Have Removed Its Super Mario 3D World-Inspired Levels
I was hoping this wouldn't be a straight port. I loved the original but not sure it warrants a double dip.
Not annoyed just disappointed!

Re: Captain Toad: Treasure Tracker's Switch File Size Is Surprisingly Smaller Than On Wii U
I still can't work out how much extra content there is. Is it going to be worth a double dip?

Re: Feature: Which Retro Classics Do You Want To See Come To Sega AGES On Switch?
There's load i'd like but realistically I probably won't rebuy things I have on 360/ps3.
I'd probably rebuy the full sonic collection - let's get the Christian Whitehead improvements this time. Also knuckles chaotix please!
Panzer dragoon saga (actually all but especially saga)
Shining Force 3
Story of Thor 1 and 2
Bug! (Maybe!)
Skies of Arcadia
Shenmue
Re: Talking Point: Does Sega's AGES Announcement Mean The Virtual Console Is Dead?
I have mixed opinions.

Re: Alex Kidd And Gain Ground Join Sega's AGES Line-Up On Switch, Saturn And Dreamcast Games Coming
Panzer dragoon saga
Shining force 3
Shining the holy ark
Story of Thor 2
Skies of Arcadia
Please!
Re: Dragon Quest XI On Switch Will Arrive "Much Later" Than Other Versions
This is a shame. Guess it shows that 7 and 8 didn't sell very well. I would much rather the 3ds version (maybe both in fact)
Re: Grab Zelda, ARMS, FIFA 18 And More In The Big eShop Sale On 3DS, Wii U And Switch
Can you guys please put in the full list? Or at least a link to the full list! Just good practice!
Re: Sega's Shining Series Returns To The West After A Decade Away, And It's Coming To Switch
So sad this isn't shining force 3 on switch.
Re: New My Nintendo Discounts Go Live In Europe
Was Lufia any good? I enjoyed the SNES ones but reviews of the GBC game don't look amazing
Re: Rumour: SEGA And Retro-Bit Might Actually Be Working On A Secret Retro Console
I have much fonder memories of Saturn, but I think that would be a commercial flop again.
I like the idea of a mini console with cross generation games but please don't forget Saturn!
Better still. Do a big porting mission to the switch. Shining force 3 on the go. Yes please
Re: Sega Dreamcast, Saturn And Mega Drive Hardware Coming From Retro-Bit in 2018
Shining force 3. Panzer dragoon saga. Yes. Want. Would be great if you can play patched games for the other SF3 scenarios.
Also could be a good way to replay shenmue without a hd remake.
I wish Sega would give more love to their Saturn and Dreamcast classics but I get they are just too unknown. Not viable businesswise
Re: Square Enix Is Bringing Romancing SaGa 2 To Switch Next Week
I would love Switch to become the next RPG powerhouse.
It would also be amazing if squenix worked on porting everything. How great would it be to have all the final fantasy games on one ecosystem?
Re: Nintendo Download: 23rd November (Europe)
Ah. Took the plunge and bought shin megami apocalypse and bravely second... Can I justify I am setsuna as well?
Disappointed there wasn't bomberman or 1 2 switch discounted as I would have bought them
Re: Soapbox: Celebrating The Second Chance Saloon That Is The Nintendo Switch

Re: Nintendo Isn't Ready To Talk About Any More "Classic" Console Releases
I still don't understand why these consoles didn't have a shop with regular releases. Nintendo could be taking it in now.
It's the same with Mario kart. 6 monthly dlc drops or new tracks/remade classic tracks. I'd buy it
