This is good news. I am excited to find out what the overall schedule will be for companies' streams during E3 time, and whether Nintendo's stream will be like it normally is or if it will just be the Smash announcement.

These look pretty great. I like the one that tells the backstory to the original Super Mario Bros., not a lot of people know it.

And yet Splatoon 2 is the only Nintendo game that uses this feature. And it’s a lesser version of it than the version used only in 3rd party games. I have no idea why they aren’t using their own feature. The 3DS and Wii U were great because of Miiverse. There’s essentially no reason to friend someone on Switch.

It happens. Creators think another creation is so good that they don’t realize they’re copying it too much. It says a lot that the original developer doesn’t have a problem with the new game. It’s not meant to be a complete ripoff like Fortnite is

I bet this report is false. They already said we are getting a Smash announcement in June, it will probably be part of the E3 Direct.

Dishonesty is wrong. It doesn’t matter what day of the year it is. You can’t use a stupid holiday as an excuse to do bad things. I get a new bout of depression every year on April 1st because I can’t go online or trust anything I see or read.

@Zeldawakening Me too! I don’t know if you watched the Direct, but they said that the ARMS character in Smash would be announced this June. That makes me think they will still have a major Direct in the absence of E3

My least favorite day of the year: April Fools Day

I had my Joy-Con all set and ready to send in for repairs right before the reports came that there was an outbreak in my area, so I never got to send it.

In America, companies are legally required to pay their employees 2 weeks pay if their work is affected by the coronavirus. The fact that they are only doing that for their American employees makes me think they are only doing it because they have to.

With his daughter too? What an awful person.

I'm honestly surprised they decided to schedule an event for August. I would maybe understand if it was already scheduled for August them not wanting to postpone it. But the government here in the U.S. has been telling us this will last until August or later. I would not be planning an event in August right now.

I imagine they must be struggling with finding 3rd party support if they had to do something like this.

I certainly hope we will be out of the woods by then, but we might not be. It could be best just to cancel or postpone it just to be safe. Last thing we want is to think the situation is over here in the U.S. just for a large event to spread it again.

I'm surprised Nintendo is even still operating at this point of the pandemic.

I guess we have to be prepared for the whole gaming world to delay for about half a year. I wish that everyone at Nintendo (and everywhere) remains safe from the virus, and that the one NoA employee who has it has a speedy recovery!

@Heavyarms55 it’s 65, actually. They are supposed to correct it by the end of this week, but they’ve been promising that for a while now. There are is a shortage of tests

@frogopus Well no, since they are limiting the number of people allowed in the store. Decreasing the hours lowers the total number of people that go in the store in a single day, which decreases the likelihood that an infected person comes in.

I would like to know who it is, if that individual is willing to say. I hope for their speedy recovery, and that no other Nintendo employees or anyone else has been infected by this case!

I don’t know what the coronavirus situation will be like in June, but with so many cases in California and Japan, I’m not sure I would go to E3 even if it doesn’t get cancelled.

I don’t find anything wrong with these things. Tauros is only available in certain regions, it’s not necessarily supposed to be North America. Meanwhile, several regions have their in-game events suspended due to the deadly coronavirus. I wouldn’t complain about that no matter what country I lived in (although I do find it a bit odd that this appears to be the only region in Croatia affected in-game)

These corporations need to take a stand and stop China from having a chokehold over the world’s manufacturing process. This is a capitalist world we live in; if there is demand, there will be competitively priced alternatives elsewhere.

Can’t you just use a capture card to take screenshots of the games that disable the screenshot function?

If the Switch actually had all the features of previous systems, then of course I would want them all on Switch. But since all their DS games and 3DS games make such great use of these features, I imagine Switch versions would be inferior to the originals
