Update (Fri 10th Apr, 2020 04:30 BST): Levi's Super Mario clothing range is now available in the US and Canada. Check out its online store to see the full range and prices.
Update (Wed 11th Mar, 2020 10:00 GMT): A second teasing tweet from Levi's has shown off another couple of items set to join the range. We have a better look at the dungarees teased in our original article below, and some very funky looking jackets.
Original Article (Tue 3rd Mar, 2020 17:30 GMT): Super Mario is many things - plumber, sportsman, doctor, gentleman kart racer - although you'd be hard pressed to call him a fashion icon. That said, not many of us can pull off denim dungarees like he does and it seems that clothing company Levi's is a fan of the Mushroom Kingdom resident's no-nonsense, workmanlike approach to dress sense. Yes, assuming you've collected the requisite number of coins, you'll be able to wear the latest crossover featuring Nintendo's mascot.
Best known for its line in denim jeans, Levi's is teaming up with Nintendo for a clothing collab. The company tweeted out the teaser below which cycles between the Levi's and Super Mario logos and a big gold coin. None too subtle when it comes to signalling pricing, it seems:
Official details are thin on the ground, although website Level Up has a gallery of the items up, a handful of which we've reproduced for you below:
This certainly isn't the first clothing crossover featuring Nintendo's finest, but these items look pleasingly high-quality and Levi's have a reputation for being resilient and hard wearing - the perfect match for the plucky plumber. Let's hope they come at a sensible price.
Fancy getting yourself some Mario dungarees? Reckon you've got what it takes to rock a bum bag in 2020 (or a fanny pack for those of you across the pond)? Let us know if you're tempted by anything in this clothing collection below.

Where. Are. My. Dungarees?
Just what everyone needs, a Super Mario fanny pack
@Kid_Sickarus missed oportunity tbh
@Kid_Sickarus I believe the third photo is from a pair dungarees - here's a more boring shot:
@ToonStuff Tee hee, you said fanny.
I'm in the market for new Levis. Just hope they come in a large enough size.
hope the collection comes to the UK, and not a US only.
These are pretty cute, would be neat to have as collection pieces. Doubt I'd wear them out, though
@JohnnyC
haha funny haha
I agree with everyone else... I just cannot believe that they didn't include dungarees. Man alive!
@dartmonkey
Oh!!!
FAITH RESTORED.
@dartmonkey wow... be careful what you wish for, huh?
Double denim doesn't die because it was never as bad as it was made out to be. I think it's easier with darker colors, and even more with different shades.
That jacket is CUTE and yes, bring on the dungarees! Even the labels look awesome to be honest.
Obligatory...

Holly crap they'd better do that jacket in a Men's size.
There's a mushroom poking out of my Levi's! 🤣
The red jumper and Peach shirt are hella cute and I'd buy them in a heartbeat if they won't inevitably cost £50 and my soul.
Oh these could be gorgeous!! Hope we can get them in UK
Oh no. The late 80s/early 90s are back...
To be honest, Wal-mart has some basic nicely branded Nintendo Tee's, would recommend buying those as they are probably a fraction of the price.
@TheBigK oh, I would wear them to bits!
Jean jackets in 2020?
Mario's favorite material:
Denim denim denim
Bet they are gunna have a great time knocking these together in the sweatshops
I just finally gave up jeans yesterday because they're uncomfortable and tear easily and don't look good on me anyways. I wish we had more details or better pictures
Ugh. Bloody pretty models reminding me that I'd look stupid in these clothes. I'll have to pass, unfortunately.
This is genius, I want a pair of Mario Levis.
I like that red hoodie with the white Nintendo on the arm - not big on the rest though.
Sweet! Now I can go to court wearing my "awesome" Mario pants and testify against my involvement in The Harambe Murder.
I grew up in the 80s at the height of the NES craze. Mario was everywhere and on everything. This really takes me back. It looks extremely 1980s 😊
There was a time when Levi's made outstanding jeans. Those days are long over. Levi jeans are now overpriced trash that don't last long at all.
Looks awesome
Yes but what’s the framerate? We need to know these things.
But where's the Luigi Green and Wario Purple Dungarees?
I like some of this (coins in pocket, Levis logo being punched by Mario). The classic label with the MARIO logo slapped on looks sloppy.
Nintendo have to be careful here. They are clearly going on a licensing bender at the moment. Don’t want to over do that so everyone gets sick of the site of then. Although I do want the Lego....and the Vans were cool....and oh damn....take the money already....
Horrible looking!
Where’s the hip hop Mario Luigi yoshi T-shirts?
It will be interesting to see how these new partnerships with Levi’s and Lego increase revenue for the big N. It could turn out, along with Nintendo World etc to be a very shrew way of getting extra income to put into its video gaming arm.
I think people often forget that Nintendo, compared to Sony and Microsoft have nothing to really fall back on. Sony and MS can have a bad console cycle and it not impact them massively - Sony has music, tv’s etc. MS it’s other computer stuff - multi billion pound businesses that absorb any losses.
Nintendo needed to get savvy and maybe now they have found a unique way to keep up.
The red hoodie and the white t shirt are OK, but the rest are awful.
Lol, maybe this partnership will pay for some gd dedicated servers
FAKE NEWS! Mario's overalls are RED.
Now get off my lawn.
I like the overalls and that jacket.
Are we sure the release date of 4/1 doesn't mean that it's an April Fool's Joke?
Were these all shot by the same photographer? The one with the hoodie and pouch looks like he was told to look like an idiot.
@ALinkttPresent Tear easily? What the hell are you doing to them? I've had jeans last me years of abuse.
Insert Steve Carell NO gif
It looks soooo bad. Like cringe early 90s stuff.
This is some modern milking right there.
Please, please don’t turn into Disney Nintendo. That is all.
Those clothing items look a bit dorky 😝
Surely they could've come up with something a bit trendier. Unless the items are meant to be for kids under 10 😅
I was gonna get the hat and it sold out too quick. I did get the power up hip pack tho! I dig the all over print stuff. Other pieces are just so so
@bmlinds
😄 that definitely gave me a chuckle.
I don’t buy Levi’s ever since they moved their plant from Knoxville Tennessee. Had relatives directly impacted by that.To each their own though.
Some nice stuff for a certain demo. The prices are a bit high for me, unfortunately.
Do people still wear that busy design on their sweaters? I remember this style being popular during the mid to end of the 2000’s.
Yyyyyyyyyeeeeeeeeeah.
