Re: Ubisoft CEO Publicly Apologises For Misconduct Allegations

uncleMike

@johnvboy Widespread... No. You're right, that experience does not mean that it is widespread.

Systematic, Yes... I will probably have the same conversation with my children, when they start driving 💯

That being said, I appreciate the Reply. Although, we have different views on these issues. I respect the fact that we can debate maturely.

Re: Ubisoft CEO Publicly Apologises For Misconduct Allegations

uncleMike

@johnvboy Widespread and systematic enough... If you ask me.

I remember when I first learned how to drive. My Dad spent more time explaining how to behave WHEN I'm unfairly stopped (that's when, not IF). A good friend of his was shot, getting his license and registration, after a Policemen specifically told him to. I was taught to always keep my hands on the steering wheel. Also, to keep silent when told that I "resemble" a suspect in the area.

Re: Retro Studios Reminds Us It's In Need Of A Lead Producer For Metroid Prime 4

uncleMike

@Giancarlothomaz I think that Switch 2 will launch before 2025... But... Everything else that you're saying sounds spot on 💯

With the number of hardware sales, there's no logical reason for Nintendo/Retro to hold the release of Prime 4 to launch on 2 consoles... That's just a terrible business move, imo.

Games like Twilight Princess (GC & Wii) and Breath of the Wild (WiiU & Switch), released on the dying breath of underperforming consoles. The Nintendo Switch is already a success that has blown expectations out of the water. Switch will have Prime 4 all to itself 💯

Metroid NEEDS a Switch launch to survive.

Re: Nintendo Has Removed Pikmin 3 From The Wii U eShop Ahead Of The Switch Release

uncleMike

@JimmySpades $180 for a WiiU... I'm assuming that that comes with some really damn good games bundled in... That's crazy, but yeah... Ok, that's eBay for you.

Anyways, I completely agree with your stance on this Topic. It's an old game on a dead system. Even at a $60 price tag, Pikmin 3 will sell significantly more on the Switch.

It's not scummy at all, imo, it's Business. If you don't like it then don't buy the game... It's no worse than the people here that won't buy a game, until it goes on Sale (that doesn't make you a shady scummy consumer, does it?)

Re: Kirk Scott Leaves Nintendo Of America After Five Years

uncleMike

@johnvboy Well... to be fair @ShallweSlay original comment was directed towards the Moderator about not being able to comment on the specific article, in the first place.

I'm not implying that you don't have the right to share your point of view, as well. I have my own personal opinions about the subject, and I think that dialogue is good in the long run. That is, as long as it's mature.

That being said, I think that you both have gone deep enough down this Rabbit Hole.

Re: Poll: Rate Your Favourite Nintendo Switch Online SNES Games

uncleMike

@Crono1973 Did you even read the statement?

I'm sorry, but I have to ask. I honestly have no idea what the hell you're even talking about.

Please Help, the statement that I read was about a person being murdered... I'm not entirely sure what you read, or even what you are talking about.

What does "Nintendo supports what's going on currently and they mentioned no exceptions." mean?

Also, where did you find this in their statement?

Re: Poll: Rate Your Favourite Nintendo Switch Online SNES Games

uncleMike

A Link to the Past is my favorite video game of all time 💯

If I could only play 1 game for the rest of my life then ALttP would be the One.

It's the first Zelda game that I beat, but it left such a lasting impression on my adult life.

I have Replayed it every single year, since I was 10 years old.

Re: Feature: Potential Switch Port Round-Up - The Wii U Games That Haven't Come To Switch

uncleMike

@RPGamer @Paraka Well Said, All True...

Just to play the "Devil's Advocate" ...

Ports make sense, for all of the reasons that you both mentioned. Although, one could argue that the Switch is becoming more of a "dumping ground" for WiiU games. This is not to say that these games are not well made, or undeserving of a larger audience. Although, I'm sure that Nintendo lost money on these games coming to WiiU (HD development cost meets dreadful install base).

In the end, it's all a matter of perspective, for a gamer. Although, it's hard to ignore the scenario that Nintendo is essentially just trying to "break even" with certain WiiU titles. I'm almost certain that if the trend was porting/remaking/remastering/ "deluxing" older games from more successful systems, there would be much more excitement (i.e. Link's Awakening and Xenoblade).

Re: Feature: Potential Switch Port Round-Up - The Wii U Games That Haven't Come To Switch

uncleMike

@RPGamer Agreed... But I don't think that's what he's saying at all. To be fair, it's hard for anyone to get excited about games that you already own.

I understand both sides... So let's be frank, Nintendo is a business 💯

These games are not ported simply out of the goodness in Nintendo's heart, to make sure that everyone gets a chance to experience them. I admit that that may be part of the reason, but the ultimate goal is to make money. To make as much money as possible, using as little resources as possible... Period.

As someone who also owned a WiiU, it's hard not to feel like I'm expected to "pick up the slack" for a failed console. I get that, completely, it makes sense.

Re: Platinum Studio Head Doesn't Think Next-Gen Hardware Will Be As "Ground-Breaking" As The Switch

uncleMike

@Kaleid-Stone Agreed 💯

And... No, I'm not implying or hoping that Bayo 3 goes multiplat. Truthfully, I'm not entirely sure how you came up with that conclusion, from my statement. Although, I really appreciate the Reply, and I can explain...

I found Kamiya's statement provocative. I believe it to be true, but also bold for any 3rd party developer on the eve of the next Gen. Basically... He has absolutely nothing to gain by making that statement. That is, unless he plans to have a current gen exclusive on the shelf, at the exact same time that the new consoles launch.

Re: Platinum Studio Head Doesn't Think Next-Gen Hardware Will Be As "Ground-Breaking" As The Switch

uncleMike

Hmmm... I'm going to change my previous opinions, on Bayo 3 (production/release date).

I actually think that there is much more to his statement...

Bayo 3 will launch as a 2020 Holiday exclusive for the Nintendo Switch. I think that Kamiya is anticipating Bayo 3 sharing the shelves with Next Gen launch titles.

I honestly cannot think of any other reason, from a business standpoint, why he would say this. Is it True... Sure, at least I think that it's True. Although, I don't think that it's a wise statement to make... If you're wrong, you look "out of touch" with the industry. Worst case scenario, you risk offending the big dogs over at Sony and Microsoft.

Re: Sega Is "Really Excited" About Sonic's Future, But Can't Reveal Anything Right Now

uncleMike

Lol @ "Back in the day..."

There has been a Sonic Game, in some form, released every year from 2005 to 2020. Although, back in "My Day", 16 bit, things seemed a lot more spaced out... Hopefully, this is a return to form.

Anyways, I am also very excited for Sonic. I absolutely loved Sonic Mania. I am hoping for a sequel. In my opinion, it would be Perfect for the Anniversary.

Re: Feature: Every Nintendo Switch Online NES Game Ranked

uncleMike

@Nintendzoey Well said, my friend...

Saw "The Wizard" in theatres, originally. Although, I have re-watched recently as well, within the past year. That Super Mario Bros. 3 scene still gives me goosebumps to this day.

Also, leaking the location of the Flute in the Castle Stage, for the Warp... That was so awesome 💯

Too young to care about "spoilers", just wanted to try it out and Warp to the Giant World like Jimmy 😎

Re: It Doesn't Sound Like A Nintendo Direct Will Be Happening Anytime Soon

uncleMike

@Dringo Agreed, well said 💯

You're right, I'm really looking at it more from a similar 3D Mario aspect. Although, I also did bring up Paper Mario originally... It's not a 3D Platformer, fair is fair. I don't mind you bringing up other games under the "Mario Banner" either.

On a more positive note, I think that we could get 1 of the 2. Any 3D Mario would be perfect for the holiday season. Although, if we do get both, I definitely won't complain... Just keeping my expectations low, for now.

Re: It Doesn't Sound Like A Nintendo Direct Will Be Happening Anytime Soon

uncleMike

@westman98 Agreed, definitely not crazy. Although, very unlikely, especially with no formal Direct.

The examples that you gave are true, but they are not the "norm". Also, they still have more space in between them... And Paper Mario launches in June. That leaves less than 6 months for the 3D Mario's and 3D World... During a Pandemic.

Don't get me wrong, I'll be very happy if Nintendo does otherwise.

Re: It Doesn't Sound Like A Nintendo Direct Will Be Happening Anytime Soon

uncleMike

I understand not scheduling Nintendo Directs during the Pandemic, but the rest of his statement seems so odd...

If these rumors are true then that's a lot of Mario games in just a small window. Without proper spacing, Nintendo will cannibalize their own products. Even with Mario's Anniversary, it seems weird to release all of those games in the next 6 months. Personally, I think that in the next 12 months would be too close together, especially considering that the new Paper Mario game launches in June. Also, scheduling all of this out, without a Direct,... Yea... I don't think so...

I'm calling Bogus on the 3D Mario rumor! I think that Super Mario 3D World is much more likely, however, there is no way that we're getting both in the same year.

Re: Nintendo President Says More Switch Games Are Scheduled For Current Period

uncleMike

@Khalic Agreed, I Love working from home 💯

Although, I don't think that it's necessarily shifting blame. Even if Nintendo had already anticipated a "slow" 2nd half of the year, with the current Pandemic things have changed. Why rush now, and why not take your time?

I don't work in the industry, but from a business standpoint I would imagine that the normal development process will be significantly slowed down all across the board (i.e. Shipping, Quality Control, Marketing etc..). Retailers, competitors and 3rd Parties will all be moving at a much slower pace now.

Re: Nintendo President Says More Switch Games Are Scheduled For Current Period

uncleMike

Make sense... This is completely understandable. Although, if Nintendo had a massive 2020 release schedule, they would be able to steal a lot of the "Thunder" from the new consoles releasing towards the end of year. That being said, Animal Crossing has already clinched GOTY, in my opinion. I don't play it, but I'm very excited for it's current and future success.

Other than that, I am keeping my expectations LOW... Maybe one surprise 1st Party announcement, of the port/remake variety, for this year. Anything else will be 3rd Party, in my opinion.

I had already given up hope for Bayonetta 3 in 2020. I'm sorry but statements that game development is progressing "nicely" or "as planned" don't really mean much to me. It's redundant, game development is supposed to progress... Right? I have my suspicions that something is up. I honestly thought that BOTW 2 had a much better shot at releasing this year, before the Pandemic.

Re: Feature: Switch Developers Open Up About The Impact Of COVID-19

uncleMike

@Scollurio Truthfully, My Friend...

The article is about people making sacrifices to continue to do their Jobs. You were the first person to even mention the Flu.

We can simply Agree to Disagree, on the Politics of quarantine... Ok?

Also, I don't think that you're at all qualified to preach to anyone here about manners. Your original comment was completely unprovoked and very insensitive.

Re: Feature: Switch Developers Open Up About The Impact Of COVID-19

uncleMike

@datamonkey Understood, and I appreciate the actual numbers.

Not to split hairs with you, but I don't think that anyone was claiming that COVID-19 had already surpassed the Flu death toll for this year.

The original comment was to "wake him up" when the death toll comes "somewhat close...". Obviously, I took issue with that statement. I found it to be very thoughtless and attention seeking.

That being said, I think that the number of reported cases and deaths is already significant enough to be taken seriously.

Re: Feature: Switch Developers Open Up About The Impact Of COVID-19

uncleMike

@Scollurio The "Subject" is that people's personal and professional lives are being negatively impacted, not to make you worried/convinced of anything.

Frankly, I find it amusing that you haven't had enough of the "Subject" to bother commenting. Although, I'm quite sure that you meant that you've had enough when it comes to listening to the experiences of other people.

Lastly, if you are not worried by now then I doubt that any future update will "wake you up".

Re: Marvel Ultimate Alliance 3's Fantastic Four DLC Launches On 26th March

uncleMike

@Mathieu_B Agreed 💯

I felt the same way, my friend. I did, however, keep playing. Although... I think that this might be DLC Pack that we have both been waiting for.

From what I have heard, Data Miners have found "evidence" of the Negative Zone and Annihilus.

This obviously doesn't prove anything, let alone any additional story but there's still hope. Worst case scenario, if at all true, it'll be something similar to the Danger Room.

Here's hoping that the Third Time will be the Charm.

Re: 2K Joins The Rest Of The World In Tribute To Basketball Legend Kobe Bryant

uncleMike

@Jeaves22 Your speech about Heroes would be much more valid, if 2K Sports were actually honoring Kobe as a "Hero". FYI, they are NOT... They're honoring Kobe as an NBA Legend. This is not an award for "Person of the Year/Husband of the Year/Role Model of the Year" etc..

There is no Purity Test required, for 2K Sports to pay their respects to a Sports Icon.

Re: Reminder: Nintendo Rolls Out Super Smash Bros. Ultimate Version 7.0 Next Week

uncleMike

@GetShulked Agreed, I loved Three Houses but the Byleth announcement was a disappoinment.

IMO, however, it was just bad timing. I definitely would not have ended the Fighter's Pass with Byleth. I would've announced Him/Her first, if at all possible. It was the only reveal that didn't feel like a surprise, compared to everyone else.

That being said, I think that the constant rumors/"leaks" are what magnify situations like this. If you are really expecting Dante or DoomSlayer then of course the Byleth reveal is going to leave an extra bad taste in your mouth. I think that Nintendo Life does a good job, in general, reminding readers to take these rumors/"leaks" with a grain of salt. Although, when you are constantly being bombarded with misinformation, it's hard to ignore.

Re: Feature: So, Who's Next For Super Smash Bros. Ultimate?

uncleMike

@fafonio Also, Rathalos, even though he's not playable... Same as Konami with Dracula.

I understand what you're saying... You're right. Compared to the overall number of characters, it's not very many at all. It's just personal preference, especially since these DLC packs are optional. Although, I do wish that I would have known beforehand that 90% of the DLC would be 3rd party.

I would prefer that all 3rd party developers be limited to 2-3 characters. I don't want Smash to turn into "Nintendo vs. Capcom vs. Konami".

That being said, I am much more fearful of Smash now turning into "Fire Emblem vs. Pokemon".

Re: A New DOOM Eternal Trailer Is Headed Our Way Tomorrow

uncleMike

@hihelloitsme Thanks for sharing... FYI, Per the Developers, DOOM Eternal was made with the Nintendo Switch in mind. Furthermore, per the developers, it will be coming to the Nintendo Switch.

So... Yea, even though you're entire comment is absolute nonsense based upon your own speculation, enjoy the game on your XBOX One X (which is soon to be "gimped" Holiday 2020).

Re: Feature: Game Of The Decade Staff Picks - Fire Emblem: Awakening

uncleMike

Nice Read. Fire Emblem Awakening is a Masterpiece.

The only argument that could be made against it, imo, is how well it compares against Fire Emblem Three Houses.

Personally, I think that Three Houses is the better of the two. It's an equally solid game that just took more risk deviating from the series. In the end, you have a slightly better all around game, imo of course. Regardless, both of these games saved this franchise, at their own time.

I just couldn't Vote for Awakening, knowing that it's True Successor came out within the same decade.
