The Game Awards 2020

As has now become tradition, The Game Awards 2020 will have lots more to look forward to than just the awards themselves, as Geoff Keighley teases plenty of world premiere announcements.

The event's producer has confirmed that the show – taking place online on Thursday 10th December at 4pm PT – will feature '12 to 15' game announcements, with all reveals being for games that have not yet been announced in any shape or form. While he stops short of giving anything away, Keighley says that we should expect a mix of AAA and "smaller" titles.

Some games have already been confirmed to be making an appearance during the show – Dragon Age 4, NieR Replicant, It Takes Two, and Crimson Desert but the 12 to 15 games teased here are in addition to those titles. So, can we expect any new Switch reveals?

Historically, The Game Awards' reveals have been predominantly geared towards Sony and Microsoft's platforms, but last year's event did reveal the existence of Switch-exclusive Bravely Default II, and ex-Nintendo of America president Reggie Fils-Aimé has been confirmed as a presenter. It's possible, then, that some of the announcements made during the show will be relevant to Switch owners.

As for the awards themselves, a full list of nominees can be found right here. Will you be tuning in? Let us know in the comments below.
