Known Issues

Resolution: A known issue with the Boosters menu results in more than 3 Boosters appearing when replacing Boosters. The replaced Boosters are removed when returning to the menu later.
- Issue: The equipment launcher appears pink while using flame belch and taking a photo in Photo Mode
Resolution: A known issue that occurs when using photo mode and the Onslaught power up or cheat code causes the equipment launcher to appear this way
- Issue: The Slayer falls through the bottom of the West cannon elevator when reaching the top in ARC Complex
Resolution: This has been observed when the Slayer is standing in a very specific position on the edge of the elevator. Standing in the center of the elevator resolves this issue.

Was REALLY hoping for a physical release. Oh well. Thanks for the info.
Good FAQ! Hopefully they patch those 3 bugs and whatever else
Completely perplexed why there’s no physical release especially considering the massive Switch install base. Unless it reviews a 9 I’ll wait for a sale
I was excited to use gyro for this installment. Had great fun with D2016 w/ gyro! Too bad no physical though. Since it's digital only I bought it on Steam instead.
I have to respect the transparency some. Many companies don't do anything like that. They could have easily released it with a take it or leave it attitude. I unfortunately will be pushing this game far down the backlog due to lack of physical. If I don't get to it before Monster Hunter Rise releases it probably will be way down that list for the foreseeable future (hopefully a physical releases at some point down the line).
I think the only hope for a physical is limited run. I'm only thinking that cause they did the doom 64 one earlier in the year.
I think Microsoft buying Bethesda killed off the physical edition. ^^
Imagine Microsoft paying cartridge manufacturing royalties to Nintendo, while simultaneously lauching two new competing consoles that focus on digital services.
Anyhow, pretty cool of them to broadly announce the most common bugs at the moment, that should save new players some aggravation. :3
the dlc should have been included with this release date. switch owners have waited long enough...
So digital only? I must have missed the memo on that one...
Physical release. Not at this time.
YES OR NO!!
I want to see some gameplay
@stuntz0rZ yeah all on cartridge
Curious about framerate and resolution. Doom 2016 for Switch wasn't perfect in those regards, but it plays really well (after some post release patches) and I keep getting back to it to slay some demons
@MarcelM It was confirmed to run at 30FPS months ago, although I of course hope the frame pacing is better than 2016.
It definitely looked a little blurry in the trailer, but not too bad. It definitely would look better if you're not sitting a meter away from a 55 inch TV lol
Gyro baby! Doom 2016 was most enjoyable with Gyro. Bring it on. I can feel the speed metal in my veins already.
Do we have any idea of pricing yet?
@GoldenBoy $60 US
Not buying a digital copy!
Ahh thanks @brandonbwii - doesn't really make sense compared to its price on other consoles.
I can't wait to play this one on my Switch!
I am not upset about the digital only release anymore but it did push me just to start moving my entire collection that way. My hype has kinda fizzled for this game anyway so I'll wait for a solid 50% sale.
Can't wait! Digital if I have to. But I hope limited run games does a release!
I'll might ony for the bonus but that's the only reason. Lack of physical killed any fun for it.
@Rodan2000 If they went the physical route this would not be ready for the holiday season. That is really the only reason because with covid, manufacturing is probably a lot harder to get done in a timely fashion.
@Pod MS had no impact on this as right now MS have no control over Bethesda and would be breaking the law if they did dictate anything, they won't gain control until next year so as off right now any action Bethesda takes is on them.
@Rodan2000 watch doom eternal sales on switch do poorly and bethesda would wonder why their not getting much money because they pretty much screwed the gamers who prefer physical copies this is going to bite them in the rears.
I'm so ready.
Wish we could preload. Oh well. Getting too old to stay up for midnight releases anyways.
It's kind of a hard sell, especially considering this just launched on Game Pass for Xbox/PC/Mobile.
I said from the beginning that I would prefer that they delay the physical release until ALL of the content is finalised (DLC/patches) as I am really sick of publishers issuing incomplete cartridges. And so long as we have already waited this long, I wouldn't mind waiting a little while longer so that we may potentially have the best possible product.
Either way, I'm not downloading it... not on Switch anyway.
@Pod You are wrong:

Physical Microsoft game on the Switch will be out this month.
Aaand... according to the eShop page, a Bethesda.net account is REQUIRED.
It will be interesting to see how its release plays out.
@Silly_G can you link to that? So you need a Slayer club registration is that what your saying?
I only just recently bought a physical copy of DOOM (2016), and I still have yet to play it, so I'm willing to wait for a physical copy of Eternal, especially if they're saying there isn't a physical version "at this time." They didn't outright say they have no plans for a physical release later down the line.
@KayFiOS in other words they want us to pay Full Physical prices for Digital which could be sold for pennies on the dollar as it took to produce it. But No they want full Physical cart prices for standard and LE versions at full prices. So how that nut buster to do that to loyal buyers.
I hope this sells well but I won't be supporting it and judging by the overwhelmingly negative response to the digital only shtick, I won't be the only one.
Unfortunately Microsoft can eventually use this as a reason to make sure no more Bethesda games make it on a Nintendo platform.
I'm sure we will still get other games from developers that Microsoft own, but I can see them saying :
"we don't feel that Nintendo platforms are the right place for games that our team at Bethesda are making". This game will be used as a reason to that statement.
@SwitchForce : The Australian eShop web link: (at the bottom of the page) http://ec.nintendo.com/AU/en/titles/70010000018022
I believe it is the same as the Slayer's Club account used for the classic DOOM releases, yes.
My biggest concern is whether or not this port will have an oversized deadzone like the Switch port of Doom 2016 has.
@Pod and MS buying Obsidian didn't kill its physical release. It actually went from digital only to having a physical release.
@Razer only overwhelmingly negative in any thread on here, as people can't seem to get over a digital only release - Mark my words, this will sell bucketloads if it's a solid port. I for one can't wait.
@Pod I think 2020 killed the physical version.
I think YT video highlights this underhanded business practice that is going on.
Digital Distribution Vs Physical Media and True Ownership
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=kdsWQGAlopk
Listen to the part he talks about the cost to make a cart vs digital.
Wait... Is there going to be traditional Online Multiplayer like Doom 2016? Or is Doom Eternal only limited to the asymmetric 2 vs. 1 Battle Mode?
EDIT: Nope, no traditional online multiplayer. Yeah, I know that most people play Doom games for the single player experience. Although, I really enjoyed Doom 2016 online multiplayer (maxed out my Doomslayer and clocked in over 300 hours.)
Best of luck to ID, Bethesda, and especially Panic Button. This is a Deal Breaker for me (I can't believe that I didn't know this until now).
To be honest about this no physical release subject.
Yeah it sucks for them that wanted a physical release. I personally was planning on getting one also... since Doom doesn’t seem to be game with much replay.
But I am surprised that in 2020 with high demand of music and tv/movie subscription for Content On Demand. To hear the how many are so flabbergasted to hear this?
Non-Physical media is the present and sorry to say it’s hear to stay. 😬
@Lordplops I highly doubt it, I've never heard of AAA digital only games selling "bucketloads" on the Nintendo Switch. Or really any Nintendo platform.
Especially not AAA digital only games that are over 15 gigs (i know thats low for this game but that doesn't change the point) and costs £50. When it's under £20 elsewhere.
I could be wrong but that might be indicative of why Nintendo doesn't bother to release digital download figures like Sony and Microsoft do.
@JRRR92 @Richnj @sanderev @WallyWest
I stand fully corrected. ^^
Cant wait. I keep dreaming about this. The PS4 version was cack. How do people even play FPS titles without motion controls? As a life long gamer with all kinds of systems, controllers, adapters, mods etc I find it impossible to enjoy a shooter without gyros.
I play Animal Crossing daily for hours. It’s my only gaming time. Each time I boot my Switch up... look at the library I own... it has all the Doom games, Duke3D.exe, Smash Bros, Mario Kart, Mario Odyssey {and best of their respective series}, Crysis, Diablo 3, Civ6, Mortal Kombat 11, Dragon Ball Fighterz, SNES app, Pinball FX 3, Burnout Paradise, Bioshock
crikey I could go on. So many of the best games ever - classics and modern classics alike. Nothing is as good as the Switch. Gaming since the eighties too, heavily! All those classics just so fun to play on TV OR handheld. OR! Table mode. I have a bunch of stands and grips for tablets. Heard it was a good way to play Switch and god damn they’re right.
Honest to god what is the point of anything else but to serve as windows into higher res versions of future Switch ports including Nintendo’s own bestly developed games ever.
FPS games are amazing on Switch.
No way for me to buy a digital version of this game. Sorry, no Physical, no buy.
@Mynameishello Duke3D.exe? WTF? LOL!
