Re: Hulu Video Streaming App Out Today For Switch In North America

ultraraichu

Wow, Hulu arrive on a device before Netflix. that's like Yahoo getting first pick over Google, granted I view my Hulu more than Netflix currently.

Perfect time for me to try it out since I'm on break in Florida visiting my dad (old fashion) and the only gadgets I bought with me is phone, 3ds, and Switch with dock. The switch will now replace the Chromecast, Apple TV, and Wii U until then.

Re: Xenoblade Chronicles 2 to Get Japanese Voiceover Option in Free Launch DLC

ultraraichu

Oddly enough I'm happy that it has English audio as an option too, versus only Japanese. For the most part game producers wouldn't waste the time and money to get English voice actors for a lot of Japanese games to localize.

The one part I really dislike when it's come to sub is that they don't sub the battle command parts in a game while fighting. Ex. Fire Emblem Warriors have some interesting support Warrior attacks dialogues that I would miss if not for the English audio during the fights (Freddy Bear). With Japanese audio, only unknown chatter if you don't understand the language.

Re: Super Mario Run Passes 200 Million Downloads as Nintendo Seeks Mobile Success

ultraraichu

I sometimes imagine if they went the f2p route, extra Rally Tickets would have been one of the things that have a price on it. At least this way you have more in-game currency and item than you can handle compared to f2p games.

I hope that Nintendo will still be generous with in-game currency and items like they have with FE Heroes, Super Mario Run, and somewhat miitomo if they didn’t charge for extra poster spot in a room. Bonus point for using MyNintendo coins in its place of cash, but not too much.

Re: Nintendo Gamers Prefer Using Switch As A Handheld Rather Than Docked

ultraraichu

I go both ways with the switch (snicker), But depending on what I'm doing in-game I play one mode more than the other.

Ex. for collecting, organizing or any task I can play and watch tv at the same time, portable. For actions that requires more undivided attention like a battle, docked. So for FE Warriors, I'll battle on the big screen and for timely work with the camp, portable.

Re: Nintendo Download: 26th October (North America)

ultraraichu

Super Mario Odyssey but as a retail because of the deal best buy have. $47.99(with Gamers Club Unlocked) plus $10 Reward Credit and a Collectible Cappy Coin. Too tempting to pass up with that deal (forgive me again DigiGods)

In a alternate world where the Switch experience a Wii U like launch drought, I would of gotten Nights of Azure 2.

Re: Nintendo Switch v4.0.0 Update Brought Surprise GameCube Controller Adapter Support

ultraraichu

That is another interesting secret tucked away with the 4.0 update. Guess Amelia was hiding something with that whole hiding a secret line. Wonder what else she is keeping from us.

I'm just curious about the person that discovered this. Was it datamined, info on the inside, or they have the adapter with GC Controller connected to the switch since day one. Just testing it out with each update in the hope that it will one day be supported. With fandom, nostalgia, and stubbornness with some people, I'm leaning on choice 3.

Re: Switch Video Capture May Go Beyond 30 Second Limit In The Future

ultraraichu

It's nice that they're taking it slow with this versus going full blast and having a bunch of possible bugs and glitches to fix. Don't want to brick that system too soon.

30 seconds works for me to get my highlight moments. In this fast-paced busy world, I'll be lucky to find somebody with an attention span/patience of one minute.
With that said extra time could make for better edits.

Re: Rumour: LEGO Dimensions Has Apparently Been Killed Off

ultraraichu

And that's one of the things I love about amiibos, it works for a variety of games in a minor way and is not mandatory with 2 (or 3) exceptions. As long as future games support them, I'll get my money's worth. Some way more than others (Link vs. Bayonetta)

Due to being drained with Skylanders, I never got the chance to play Lego dimension but I always admired how they did their game different from the other toys to life. Maybe one day I'll catch it on sale on the Wii U

Re: Nintendo Download: 19th October (North America)

ultraraichu

Getting Fire Emblem Warriors (switch), but as a physical since that's the only way I could get the collector's edition.

With the way I been buying games this month, I probably spent close to $200 even with the discounts on some of them. Bittersweet for me and my wallet.

Re: There'll be a Free Fire Emblem Warriors Japanese Voice Pack to Download

ultraraichu

I would be sticking to my much preferred English dubbed. It puts me at ease when I can understand what the character say, especially in an action or fighting game where there's too much action going on to read or they don't even put up the subtitles for call out attacks.

A good add-on for those who prefer Japanese though, they should be very pleased.

Re: Team Vampire Triumphs in Latest Splatoon 2 Splatfest

ultraraichu

To think that me being on Team Vampire was only due to winning a game of Rock-Paper-Scissors with my friend who prefer Werewolves (glad I won both).

Kind of surprised that Werewolf didn't take the popularity vote. I thought Furries and Marina fans would flock to that side. Can't believe the loud minority I guess

Re: Super Mario Run Has a Major Update and Discount on the Way

ultraraichu

Fans ask (long while back) for daisy and a better price for the full game and they get both and then some on the same day.
I hope all those that were holding out for this would get it now, otherwise Nintendo would find more to not listen to certain online noises.

Got the $10 one. Seeing as there was exclusive timed events between the release and now, and the coins, toads and items I gained, I'm not too bitter. Wish I could play it offline, but with dishonest people willing to gain the upper hand in "competitive" games, I kind of see why not.

Re: Toys 'R' Us Seeks Bankruptcy Protection in North America

ultraraichu

Since they got rid of the one at Times Square, it have been off my radar (easiest for my commute). I have brought stuff online from them since they do have great sales/clearance on toys-to-life products.

I hope they don't end up going the way of Circuit City. One reason is there would be less competition with similar retail stores for our money, the next would be less stores to stock certain products. Be it the hottest holiday toys or a chance at getting a mini Nintendo System, options will become limited.

Re: Review: Pokkén Tournament DX (Switch)

ultraraichu

I'll be double dipping since I'm a sucker for Pokemon and I could benefit from the new features the Switch version have. Only thing is, it comes out the same day as Dragon ball Xenoverse 2 and I can only play one new game at a time. Since I never played Xenoverse 2, Pokken will have to wait.

Re: Talking Point: The Apple Event - It's Worth Looking Out for Nintendo and Pokémon GO

ultraraichu

Never crossed my mind they could talk about Nintendo until I read this Talking Point. Thinking back they have announced Super Mario Run and Pokemon GO for the Apple Watch, so it is a possibility. I do enjoy the mobile Nintendo games for its pick up and play for short burst and quality more so than my other mobile games.

Funny thing, I was watching GMA this morning and most of the time when they were talking about the new iPhone, they were showing off Pokemon GO, even talked about the gameplay and success for a bit.

Re: Splatoon 2 Designer Explains Why The Maps Rotate And Salmon Run Is Time-Limited

ultraraichu

I remember when playing PvZ: Garden Warfare 2 (PC) I would have a hard time finding players for certain Players vs AI modes. Unless they had a mission to check off, it would be troublesome to find 3 other players for a stage/difficulty. I guess that's why I'm not fussy on the time limit for salmon run, especially since they have it open for 24 hrs with a 6 hour break in between (more or less) with one theme at a time.

The full interview is worth the reading. It is insightful on the differences between the western and Eastern cultures. I had a friend who recently came back from a trip to Japan. There was a lot of things he told and show me with the culture and it seems very similar to Amaro's experience.

Re: Weirdness: Splatoon 2 Actually Has Built-In Voice Chat For LAN Play

ultraraichu

Yikes, if it sounds like that with LAN play, imagine if they have this set-up with online play. Talk about the lesser of two evils.

Read the IGN article, still can't make sense for Reggie's reason for voice chat tied to a mobile app. He says for convenience and "reinforce the capability to take your experience with you on the go". This makes no sense to me since in more cases people will be at home online for voice chat and having just a headset is more convenient than a headset and a phone hookup.

Re: Soapbox: The SNES Classic Edition Pre-Order Farce Proves Nintendo Hasn't Learned A Thing

ultraraichu

I'm not too surprised on it. It's a common thing that always happens with Nintendo products. This is why I have a Twitter account following multiple users that tweet on video games and amiibo sales and discounts. That is how I got most of my high demand Nintendo items since 2015 with the amiibo craze

Speaking of Twitter I got a tweet from Toys R Us saying that they're not doing pre-orders and and it's only in-store on 9/29 and GameStop will have for walk-ins launch day.

I'll hold my stock judgement till after the holiday season. That will be the real test and not preorders 4 months before Christmas.

Re: The Overcooked: Special Edition Performance Patch Is Nearing Release

ultraraichu

I haven't notice it much when I play. I guess it's because it haven't hinder my inputs and attention as much as I thought compared to other games. Perhaps when the patch comes out, I can spot the changes easier.

The only small issue I have is the run or none movement for the characters. It's playable but it does make grabbing/dropping ingredients and careful movements on certain stages tricky at times.

Re: Niantic Is Facing a Class-Action Lawsuit Over Pokémon GO Fest

ultraraichu

I'm thinking the comparison is less of a cancelled concert and more of a concert with a singer with a sprained ankle that performs laying down. The show went on but not with the experience expected.

From what I heard and partially seen from the live stream, they extended the range of the event (special Pokemon, stops and eggs) 2 extra mile, have the time extended to monday morning, give a Lugia, $100 in pokecoins, and a refund.

So far it looks like people, including him got more out of the "failure" than they would got out of the success, minus the stress of missing out on some rare Pokemon that others are catching during the chaos.

Re: Splatoon 2 Version 1.1.2 Is Now Live

ultraraichu

Took advantage of the meal ticket glitch before updating it this morning, only the exp one though since I'm only up to the 3rd hub world. Kind of messed up since I mainly woke up earlier to play Salmon Run before going to work. Only enough time to play 3 game but them's the breaks.

Re: Editorial: amiibo Has Stalled, Because Nintendo is Forgetting What Makes It Special

ultraraichu

A good idea for Nintendo is for them to make a new Animal Crossing game with the same traditional gameplay as the past ones for the Nintendo switch that uses the AC amiibos in a useful way. It may help clear up the overstock they have in so many NA stores. This way they can have room for newer amiibos. Makes it better if it could carry over data from the amiibo festival for the brave, poor souls.

In some cases it's the game that sells the figures.

Re: Guide: All The Splatoon 2 amiibo Unlocks

ultraraichu

@SnowFox I'm thinking the same thing too since I scanned the purple squid today and got only the helmet (level 18) but when I scanned in my Splatoon 1 boy and girl amiibo Friday and play awhile, I got the other two outfits (top and bottom) at once and something for the arcade.

Re: Guide: All The Splatoon 2 amiibo Unlocks

ultraraichu

I skipped past Carrie and Marie (said they're busy) and somewhat the new amiibo part of the article since I haven't scanned them myself yet (got them though), but it nice that a game have a read and write function and not read only.

If they have Pearl and Marina, I would so got that too
