Re: Pokémon GO Racked Up $950 Million In Revenue During 2016

ultraraichu

Good on them. Even if Nintendo gets a fraction of that, it is still a very large fraction. I wonder how much they also sold/made from the Go+.

I know this must have been good for third parties as well for their business, like the ones selling power banks, sponsors, and phone companies with data network, travel supplies, etc.

Re: Nintendo NY Store Confirms A 'Limited Quantity of Pre-Orders' for Nintendo Switch on 13th January

ultraraichu

Kinda reminds me of the Wii U launch event. They also had limited quantity of pre-orders and people feared the stock issues after the Wii was first released. Short version, it was well stocked.

Yet I'll be the dingus who will still try to pre-order the system and wait on a long line the night before the release to buy it (with said pre-order), like I did for the other 2 (Wii was morning of).

Re: Guide: Getting to Grips With SOS Battles in Pokémon Sun and Moon

ultraraichu

I pretty much like sos battles, even if I was troublesome in the beginning. I guess it's because I have the pokemons to control the flow of battle and the perks have become more useful to me now.

My favorite/handy Pokemon to use for sos battles is

Pangoro with HA-Scrappy (to hit ghost types)
Thief (item gathering)
False Swipe (obvious reason)
Entrainment (Hidden Ability search)
Hammer Arm (just because)

I also use a Static Electabuzz with Thunder Wave for the status change and Thief for a second item gatherer.

Re: Pokémon Sun And Moon's Second Global Mission Ends In Failure

ultraraichu

@DragonEleven Pretty much was thinking that too.
Would ace the PokePelago if they have (one of my favorite add-ons).

If it was the first mission, I would put in a lot more effort. During the event I completed most of the Alola Pokedex (now all) and caught the island scan Pokemon I wanted. My heart wasn't in it as much as it should.

Re: New Report Claims Pokémon GO Could "Measurably Affect US Life Expectancy"

ultraraichu

Nice of the creators to point out those factors in the findings. Nowadays Certain groups and individuals would leave details out to boost their findings/views.

Well from my personal experience it got me a lot more active in going outside, walking, and exploring than I ever did prior to its release, the stories I can tell. I'm still walking a longer route to go to work in this 29 degree weather (thank you Go Plus).

Re: You Can Now Pre-Register for Super Mario Run on Android

ultraraichu

I'm not going to pre-register, but I will keep my eyes open for when it's released. Not like they'll run out of digital copies or something.

I enjoy playing it on my old iPhone 5, but I'll enjoy it even more on my S7 edge since that's my main phone. It's also what hold me back from paying for the full version.

Re: My Nintendo Rewards Site Gets A Fetching Facelift

ultraraichu

Well it's more organized I can say that much. Hopefully they are planning to fill those categories up with more rewards next year.

On a slightly related note, I just realized 250 of my Mii/Plat coins have expired. Wish they can send a notification a day before that happens. I guess I just have to enter an reminder in the calendar for now.

Re: Pokémon GO's Nearby Tracking Feature Now Live In The UK

ultraraichu

It's live in NYC. Quite a surprise opening my phone and seeing that, thought it would take longer to roll out on the east side. Good on you Niantic.

I see they also brought the footprints back, even though it reads as 3 for all, especially the pokemon right next to you. Guess they are still working on that.

Re: eBay Feeds The Scalper Within You By Offering Guaranteed Profit On Your NES Classic Mini

ultraraichu

Although I dislike scalper for unfairly profiting off others misery (per say), I dislike some of the buyers, well only the ones that complain about buying it way over msrp.
Like lemonjellydude said no one is forced to buy it at that price. Even some of the auctions started at $0.99 with no reserve but ended at more than $190.

Ultimately it's us, mainly the ebay buyers that determine the price for those scalpers and if it gets sold. If a good amount of people are willing to pay $200 for a $60 system that is getting a restock, then others will sell it back at $200 and will keep on doing it.

Like with amiibo, have patience and don't give into impulse.

Re: Niantic Says Thanks With Pokémon GO Double XP And Stardust Event

ultraraichu

Noice, I'm going to take advantage of this when it's time. My goal is to become a stronger trainer in Go (currently lvl 30), that way when all the major updates comes out, I don't have to be the guy left behind whining.

After all it was thanks to the halloween event and the latest nest change, I was able to get 141 Pokemon in the Pokedex and several high cp pokemon for gyms. Silently happy in the noise of hate.

Re: Pokémon Sun and Moon Magearna Distribution and Movie Screening Details are Confirmed

ultraraichu

I dont't mind as much that Disney XD is getting the Pokémon series. If this was around the time they had Naruto Shippuden, I would be worried. But seeing how they did Doraemon and Yo-Kai Watch, I have more fate (not counting censors & edits for sensitive American audiences)

With that in mind, I have to remember to watch the 41 episodes of Pokémon XYZ I have recorded on my DVR.

Re: Nintendo Download: 17th November (North America)

ultraraichu

Swapdoodle and Pokemon Moon digitally for me. Maybe one of the themes if it's good.

Part of me wanted Pokemon Moon physically for the free goods and the midnight launch event at Nintendo NYC, but I'm fighting that urge thinking of the gameplay long run.

Re: Poll: Retro Delights and Stock Shortages - What Are Your Thoughts on the NES Mini Launch?

ultraraichu

I'm not really interested in it. I prefer to move forward and play New games then to be stuck in the past high on nostalgia, no offense.

I just think it's like amiibo in the beginning, where stocks for certain characters like Villager and WFT were plentiful and preorders for the next wave was still open, until Nintendo said how they will stop making some characters in the future. Thus begin the great demand and shortage.

Re: Limited Stock Brings Out the Inevitable NES Mini Scalpers

ultraraichu

I would figure after past stock events dealing with GameCube controller adapter, 3ds Majora's Mask edition, and especially Amiibos (and others items), that people would know what to expect.

Just like trolls, we shouldn't feed the scalpers. If you couldn't get it now, just be patient that either stores restock them or the scalper's price drop due to having no seller for the crazy price.

Re: Global Roll-Out of Pokémon GO's Nearby Feature Gets Closer as Niantic Plans a Long Run

ultraraichu

I read the full article, it's pretty nice and informative, especially when they have been "quiet" on the reactions for so long and vague.

In this age of social media, people always want you to be transparent know your every move, which is why Twitter and Facebook is so popular. Is the nice (and funny) to know they read and listen to everything going on.

The big test they should do with the sighting is to release it in NYC next. If you can make it there you can make it almost anywhere 😉

Re: Reminder: Set Your Alarm Clock To Snag A NES Classic Edition For The Holiday Season

ultraraichu

I'm not big on nostalgia and I doubt I want to replay some of the games I already own (cartridge and/or VC) so I'm good.

It is a nice collector item, I just hope scalpers don't ruin it for the people who wants it (for non-profit reason) without playing 3x the amount like with all the other "Limited" (timed or perm) Nintendo items.

Edit: But I maybe tempted to do an impulse buy if I happen to walk in a store and they have it.

Re: The New Miitomo Update is Now Live

ultraraichu

I haven't stop playing since launch since this is a way for me to have fun and keep in contact with close friends when we're busy with life. Also the miitomo coins is good motivation for me

I haven't had time to try the update fully yet, but it's welcoming to know that they are still updating this with new features rather than leaving it as is with small updates and moving on to other projects/sequels.

Re: Nintendo Share Value Joins Market in Recovery from Post-US Election Drop

ultraraichu

I'm not too surprised on the rebound. They overreacted and sell before reality and facts set in. It reminds me of what happen with Pokemon Go, but with a opposite twist on the buy/sell part.

Kind of like grown adults thinking the President have the power to change and control the whole country, before realizing (in some case knowing) the 3 branches of government to keep them in check.

Re: Nintendo Download: 10th November (North America)

ultraraichu

I'm on the fence about getting Dungeon Hearts DX. Got it for less than $1 during a humble bundle sale but because of mouse and touchpad controls, I couldn't really enjoy it. I want to play the Wii U version but I'm too cautious to buy without knowing more.

Also on the fence with Rhythm Heaven Fever, but that's just me fighting nostalgia, a messed up Wii Menu, and price (small effect).
