Re: People Are Review-Bombing Pokémon: Let's Go Across Major Sites, Amazon Japan Blocks User Scores

ultraraichu

Kind of ironic that before the game comes out Friday, people were saying how "professional reviewers" and fans are shills and drones. Now certain people are forming a army (free I assume) reviewing the game they don't like and never played.

I like opinions from all sides and informative reviews to educate on the game (hopefully non bias) but actions like this give fans and gamers a bad stereotype. It's less about the game itself and more about the personal agendas/power to send out.

Re: Guide: How To Unlock Mew In Pokémon: Let's Go On Nintendo Switch

ultraraichu

Still beats how they did mystical Pokemons in the old days (aka 2000s). I remembered Celebi being exclusive only in Japan with a cable to connect to your phone in gold & silver and Jirachi being part of a pre-order Pokemon Colosseum bonus disc for Ruby and Sapphire. Although you could use the disc multiple times for different games so not exactly the same (also a gamecube and gba-gc cable). Also NY Pokemon Center.

I do wonder if each Mew is different or the same since mines have a sassy nature.

Re: Dragalia Lost Developer Outlines Its Plans For The App's Future

It’s nice that are listening to feedbacks and improving the game (especially bow and lance users). Even nicer they have generous compensations each time.

My only unlikely wish is that they don’t have wyrmprints in the same summoning pool as adventures and dragons, or the very least not have a 5* wyrmprint break your summoning chain.

Re: "Realistic Pokémon" Artist Landed Detective Pikachu Movie Job After Being Discovered On Google

ultraraichu

It caught me off guard at first (thought it was a joke/parody) but it's growing on me. It made me think a lot about Pokemon existing in real life with detail traits that we’re used to seeing on our animals like furs, scales, feathers, etc.

Now I'm wondering have ghost and bug type will look since real life versions tend to be creepy and scary. What I find cute/harmless in games and anime would be pure nightmare fuel in real life, like any real bug over 2 feet

Re: Review: Pokémon: Let's Go, Pikachu! and Let's Go, Eevee! - The Perfect Entry Point For Newcomers, A Nostalgia Trip For Veterans

ultraraichu

I’m kind of excited to play this; especially with my non-gamer friends that likes the series. Hope there is more to do post game then what have been announced.

This will also probably be the first game I can play with my 60 year old mom since duck hunt in the 90s. The only game I ever got her to play since is Pokemon Go, but her knowledge/interest is limited to catch, send to “candy man”, and spin the ball (Pokestops). I know she wouldn’t be into this as a traditional gamer and she wouldn’t progress to the “core” games, but at least it something.

Re: You Can Now Grab The Legendary Lugia And Ho-oh In Pokémon Sun & Moon

If it have to be a retail store, I'm glad it's Gamestop; at least they are specialized to know about stuff like this. Some can automatically tell and will give you 2 no problem.

I missed the event last month at Target because the 2 staffs working the station had zero idea about the event and got none after explaining and waiting 20+ minutes. The month before I had to explain it to the old security guard at Best Buy who "had" the code and will only give one (good thing I had my gf with me).

I do prefer Mystery Gift but I understand keeping a relationship with physical retail store in this digital online era.

Re: Nintendo Really Wants You To Use A Wired Connection For Smash Bros. Ultimate

ultraraichu

Still use my LAN adapter from the Wii era for the dock in my room and use wireless for the dock in the living room and obviously handheld. Good internet so no problems 90% of the time wireless.

I just see this as a PSA for the people who have questionable internet. Would be nice if he also recommended the internet speed as well but that might be taken the wrong way too.

Re: Pokémon: Let's Go Pikachu And Eevee Won't Include Pro Controller Support

ultraraichu

Somehow I knew that was the case. Since day one the game was shown off as a one handed, motion control, minimal button (confirm & cancel) type game. No place for a two-handed, 12 button controller here; not counting handheld mode for obvious reasons.

Although they could use the spare buttons as shortcuts and the shoulder and trigger buttons to have the 4 attacks assigned to each one, just an idea.

Re: The Mythical Pokémon Meltan's Evolution Is Finally Revealed

ultraraichu

I thought it would have a form change version like several other mystics, but this is just as good. Change up the norm like Manaphy being the first to have its own egg and breed.

The part that left the biggest impression on me is that this is the first Pokémon that is made up of two or more Pokémon that needs them gathered together (kind of) to evolve, if the candy part is the only way. Diglett, Magnemite, Beldum, and Slowpoke come to mind with the pseudo-ish evolving.

Re: Nintendo Download: 11th October (North America)

ultraraichu

I'll get The World Ends with You. Granted it would have been better if Square Enix priced it for $39.99, but like Sushi Striker I'll swallow my stubbornness and spit out the extra $10

Plus I kind of owe my money to Square in a way since the method I played the original on my DS is something I’m not proud to admit (Roms).

Re: Feature: 5 Times Sony Shamelessly Copied Nintendo

ultraraichu

Funny that I was watching this video last week that have the same 5 plus 5 more.

I can imagine Nintendo taking to optical media like swallowing bitter medicine, then ejecting it. From mini discs to more traditional disc format, then back to cartridges.

A glass half full approach would be Sony didn't copy, they were "inspired". You know to ease the other side

Re: Switch eShop Maintenance Scheduled For This Evening, Nintendo Online Service Ready To Go

ultraraichu

@GKO900 I think I see where the confusion is, the part where I mention that was as a little tongue in cheek for general standards, as in they will bring a turtle shell to a gunfight. In the sense that they will do some stuff that won't make sense to be different. Like when the other 2 compete with more powerful systems, they made Wii and Wii U. Kind of weird when the standards back then was next gen top graphics. That was my fault I should have left that part out or have a

It's true that friend code is still there, but it's not per game anymore and there are other ways to add a person as a friend besides that. Be it friends that you make/already have on your social media, Wii U, 3DS, Nintendo games on your smart device, or people that you just played with online. Hopefully they include NNID down the road.

It's not to say I'm defending Nintendo, more so giving it the benefit of the doubt, same I did with Sony with their network and to improve. With all the things that goes on online (and RL), I find it best to be a bit optimistic.

Re: Final Fantasy XV Pocket Edition HD - An Inferior Clone Of An Already Divisive Game

ultraraichu

I brought it even though I don't have time current to play since I didn't want to miss the sale (wouldn't pay $30 for it). Figured I can fit it in my commute after some backlogs.

It's funny because one of my reason in getting this was because of my ever shortening attention span. Lately I get so distracted by side quest and exploring, I don't beat the game and either move on to the next game or restart it because I forgot my progress.

Ex. Got Breath of the Wild since launch and I still haven't fight Calamity Ganon because of the completionist in me wants to do everything else before then.

Re: Switch eShop Maintenance Scheduled For This Evening, Nintendo Online Service Ready To Go

ultraraichu

@GKO900 I though when you mention barebones service, we were referring to the online service compared to Xbox and Playstation online service which is the "standards for online".

I only mention the Wii and friend code part on what is Nintendo view on when it comes to their own "standard" and how they change or improve on it. Even the switch learned from the Wii U and traded/improved on it in it's own way to get way more players. I do think the app for voice chat is weird and wrong.

I'm just remembering the same uproar PSN had when it was first release. I was also thinking it will improve.

Re: Switch eShop Maintenance Scheduled For This Evening, Nintendo Online Service Ready To Go

ultraraichu

@GKO900 Got to start somewhere and in Nintendo's case, they set their own standards which varies depending on how you view it (can't find a definitive rule for that online).
Remember this is the same company that have different Friend Codes for each individual game (ds and wii era) compared to in-game friending and names like now or the Wii overall compared to Xbox 360 and PS3.

I think it would be barebone if they only have online play. Without the cloud storage, free games, and special deals (tbd), there would be a lot more rage since the other 2 offer that in the package to sweeten the deal.

Re: Your Nintendo Switch Cloud Save Files Will Be Lost If Your Online Subscription Expires

ultraraichu

@Spudworthy @jkirchgessner07 Same thing I come to realize after thinking about it for a while. They left out certain info that would also be informative to cherry pick the one part that would knowingly get people in a frenzy, especially for the ones who don’t like the service in the first place. I had to research both Nintendo and Sony’s online service after reading this to get a better picture. Didn’t know that Sony used to limit cloud storage to 1gb or that Nintendo also have auto renewal.

Just seems like one of those articles to get people to comment over 200 (with success)

Re: Your Nintendo Switch Cloud Save Files Will Be Lost If Your Online Subscription Expires

ultraraichu

@Hams96 According to the faqs, yes.
When the time comes, it will take the necessary amount from your Nintendo eShop balance. If you don't have enough funds, then your saved payment method will be used to automatically add the remainder to your balance and purchase the membership.

You can opt out of auto renewal and it will renew based on your most recent subscription; i.e if you purchase a 12 month membership during a 3 month membership, the next automatic renewal will be for a 12 month membership.

Re: Your Nintendo Switch Cloud Save Files Will Be Lost If Your Online Subscription Expires

ultraraichu

At this point I’m not going to jump to any conclusion until the 2nd or 3rd part of next year. There have been so many new revelations about what the service can and can’t do before any 1st hand experience, I don’t even believe Nintendo fully.

Even though I feel this cloud save data should be used as a BACKUP (I'm 95% sure the system will only/mainly read your local save) and not as an alternative for local save, I wouldn’t be surprised if they decide to change it to give you a little grace period.

Edit: Now that I think about it, even if they give a grace period, people will have the same issue since they'll likely look at it as milking some extra free months and wait till last minute to renew.

Now that I Really think about this isn't really news, this is just the way subscription based services normally works. Can't believe I fall for the clickbait.
