In July, a Ubisoft financial report revealed South Park: The Stick of Truth would be released exclusively on the Switch eShop this September. Apparently, it wasn't a joke, with Ubisoft and South Park Digital Studios now announcing the first turn-based RPG will arrive next week, on the 25th, for the suggested retail price of $29.99.
This epic quest stars all the characters from the television show including Stan, Kyle, Cartman, Kenny and even your very own custom-made character. Throughout your adventure, you’ll arm yourself with a range of weapons and take on a wide variety of enemies including underpants gnomes, hippies, and various other evil forces as you are transported to the perilous battlefields of the fourth-grade playground doubling as a hilarious but vulgar fantasy land.
Take a look at the original uncensored game trailer above and tell us if you'll be returning to South Park next week.

You must never fart on a man's balls.
I got this game for free with my purchase of But Whole on XBox1 but I never got around to playing it and people that I know that have played both claim Stick is better so I’ll pick this up next week cause I’m way more likely to play it on Switch.
Just started this on Xbox One. Not sure if I'll finish it. Not a fan of the show though the game had me laughing a few times already
Not interested but great for fans who want it.
Personally, I domt enjoy the TV show, but the Fractured But Whole Game was quite entertaining. I didnt finish it but I will someday. This game looks like a purchase down the road
This price is ludicrous....$19.99 at the absolute most, and really $9.99 is what it should be. I love when older games make it over to Switch as there is a nice audience who had not played them, but to offer a game that is regularly sold for next to nothing (and given as a pre order bonus most recently) for $30 is nuts. I will pass
The second one was awesome, definitely planning to get this one for sure. Not on September 25th though since I'm still broke but it's on my to buy list right between Dragon Ball FighterZ, Skullgirls, Tales of Vesperia HD, Onimusha HD, Dragon Quest XI, Pokemon Rainbow, Grandia I & II HD, Langrisser I & II HD, Dark Souls Remastered, Doom Eternal, Streets of Rage 4, Diablo III, Daemon X Machina, Fire Emblem: The Three Houses, and every Final Fantasy games Square Enix had announced for the Switch (except the Chocobo game, that one I could live without).
Why does it say exclusively to Switch since it came to other consoles before that?
Anyone who owns a Switch, is a fan of South Park, and skipped over this game would be crazy not to get this. It's like a playable episode of the show and it's great, I genuinely can't think of a single other licensed game that's not only as good as it is, but as faithful to the source material as it is.
I`ve gotta finish it on my PS3, otherwise I would buy it. Quite a game, specially if you`re a fan of the tv show...
physical?
I loved FBW, so this is definitely a day one for me
If you like raunchy humor, coupled with a game that is actually fun AND well written, then give this game a shot!
I have this on PC already, but I will probably double dip and pick this up at some point. @16bitdave I was wondering the same thing but it looks like it's an eshop only title...
No physical, no buy.
@mr12calvin exclusively on eshop, so no physical release.
@Dayton311 I agree that 30 is Too much for this game, good thing Ubi has regular sales so may pick this up when they discount it 50% (probably around black Friday).
Jeez, so it doesn't even deserve a physical release on Switch
If you've never played it and are a fan of the show, it really is a must (though maybe not day one at that price). I got it free with FBW ON ps4 and for me, it truly outshines the later game. Can tell the shows writers are gamers.
Physical release?
@MeatSauce stick is way better
The price is a little high. But I think I’ll pick it up
I could pick this up for three quid on my PS3, but if I was to get around to playing it, it would be on my Switch
Been waiting on getting this before I started on the second one 😀
Beat this on PS3 and PS4 (after it came included with Fractured But Whole) and for me it's easily the better game of the two. Well worth a look for fans of the series or it's sequel and just wait until you get to Canada 😉
Not a fan of the show but the fbw is a blast of a game (apart from the huge technical issues on launch). Will definitely get this on sale
Played the PS3 version to death, it was great, doubt I will get it again, as i mostly play my switch at work, and don't really think it is very appropriate.
Great game but way over priced. If free with fractured on ps4 and xbox one. £15 at the most.
The price is too high for a physical only release.
I wonder if they will release the Australia-specific censored edition here or possibly even skip us altogether.
@Dayton311
Well, just picture that in Canada, it'll be priced at $40 + tx. Game might be fun, and I'd really like to play it on Switch, but no way I'm going to spend $40 on this. At $20 I'd be buying it though. Especially for a game that regularly go on sale (both digitally and if you find it in bargain bins), or even being used as a freebie bonus. I mean... $40... ouch...
I don't see this selling as much without some price cuts, you can get it for less than 20 bucks through amazon on another platform, and don't even want to talk about steam where I've seen it for 10 dollars maybe cheaper before.
This is pretty shocking. With the old engine it had been mostly written off, so of course I already bought it on X1 for almost the same price on a sale (why are people saying it's overpriced?) sigh, but FBW was great on Switch and some have said the first game was actually the better game overall (more traditional RPG versus the quasi-SRPG of FBW) so I'm looking forward to it!
I already beat it on pc but I may double dip if Ubisoft have a good sale on it, and you know Ubisoft always have a sale.
I really hope there’s a physical release. Would love to play through the both games in order
Be warned everyone, the Nintendo Switch version is censored, at least compared to the Steam release. Not sure about other platforms..
