This does count if I buy a family subscription in a few months' time, right? It's not a day one exclusive?
As much as people hate on the online service, this and the NES games are worth the mere 20 dollars per year.
@Matthew010 There is no mention of it being a day one exclusive.
Though, I'm guessing it could easily be changed to a different promotion in the future for new subscribers.
@Liam_Doolan Ok, thanks. I was thinking I could buy the family membership nearer December as an early (or late) Christmas gift. Also, because that would cover Smash Ultimate.
Not really. Would have gotten the subscription anyway. This is just a nice little bonus!
Nope not at all.
This isn't a feature I want or care about.
Is this really much incentive? I mean, Splatoon basically becomes worthless if you don't pay for online to begin with. Technically, won't ALL free gear be "exclusive" to those paying for the online service moving forward?
I was already going to subscribe, but this is a nice little bonus.
@Not_Soos: Splatoon does have some really great single player. And you can play local multiplayer (by connecting multiple consoles). Both don't require the online subscription.
@JR150 Agreed. Switch Online may not appeal to me much, but $20/year subscription is worth it for me for those features you mentioned.
@Not_Soos I presume the deal will end sometimes soon and the gear will be to "early adopters".
Not sure though.
@JR150 I do not really care about exclusive in game clothes in this game or any other game.
However I still do not think the 20 dollars/euro is worth it. Why? They are crippling their own online service.
You pay 60 to 50 euro for a game that has online multiplayer like Smash or Tennis Aces and then you need to pay 20 euro more to play those same games you have been playing for a long time for free. Now all those other free to play games like fornite and paladins and the upcoming warframe will probably be a lot more played online (duh) then the games like splatoon and mario kart. Why would Nintendo do that? So it can still be “relevant” platform to play those games on? If so why do not do that the other way around? Also that voice chat: why can we just not make a party like on PSN or XBOX? Yes I know it is 20 dollars but does that mean we have to still get functions that do not even cost money like offline backups?
Is that wrong? No not even a bit. Nintendo is not wrong to charge for the services they give us. However the service itself is actually what is wrong with it. You can’t use the NES controllers outside of the 20-30ish games from Nintendo itself. You also must be online once in 7 days to play those games. And there are actually a lot more reasons why I do not think this is worth it.
Wanted to say more now but I am on my mobile phone right know and typing this long is very annoying. Also sorry for this long text I am not mad or anything, just wanted to say this
Sounds like you're getting something special until you realize you have to pay to play this anyway and most people will likely get the yearly regardless.
Was gonna get the subscription anyway so this is a neat bonus.
Given how much of a backstab the save data denial is to Splatoon 2 players, they felt they had to make amends for it somehow.
"Don't worry if you constantly risk to lose hundreds of hours' worth, we got you covered... in clothes!"
This is cool I guess. I’ve got my nephews and nieces covered with this family subscription and my japanease account.
I have three people in my house and one Xbox One. I can use my gold subscription with as many profiles as I have on the console. I don't have to pay for Xbox Live Gold again per profile. In the case of using another Xbox One with my gold subscription it's no problem (however it is restricted to my profile).
Nintendo on the other hand is requiring a online account per profile. This means for anyone other than single people you are forced to buy their family plan which is the same price as Xbox Live Gold or PSN. Now normally I wouldn't worry and say this is just how it is, but the value offering is extremely low.
In terms of a sub based NES classic service, I am all for that. But to piggyback it on top of a online service that is worse (yes worse) than what was on Wii U and force people to pay the same as the competitors who are offering full retail games, online voice chat, matchmaking and more.
Nintendo Online Service is NOT worth the money for the online features. This is going to create ill will amongst parents who are going to be blindsided by this and are going to have to choose which console gets online. And chances are it won't be Nintendo.
Why not have this as a monthly thing? Get gear or exclusive items in a different title each month when you're subscribed. It would take the Splatoon 2 or whatever team an afternoon or less to create new gear for a game.
Not much but the more you can make subscribers feel rewarded the better.
How can they be exclusive? U need to have a subscriptions to get the skins and u have to have a subacription to play online. This means everyone will have them! Lol thats not very exclusive in my book
I'm afraid nintendo will go bankrupt if they continue this generosity policy
@KoekiieWoekiie I was worried about smaller games like Mario Tennis Aces and ARMS becoming difficult to find opponents to play online once the service starts but then I thought, there's no reason why it should. For the most part the people you're playing with and against online are the very people who'll be subscribing to this service. The casual gamers or those who don't want or need an online subscription likely never played much online to begin with. Not everyone will will be buying it straight away of course so there may be noticeable effect to some games but after a few weeks or so it should return to normal.
Seems like a really bad gift... who in their right mind would wear white shirt in a paint war? Welcome to laundry hell!
I can imagine one of the future 'Special Offers for members' will be x1.5 Platinum Coins. So we can have 50% more coins to spend on nothing. x1.5 Gold Coins would be alright though, x2 would be great.
@Djgoa They're probably only available for a set period of time. Someone subscribing say next month will have missed their chance to get one of these exclusive white Tshirts and they'll be kicking themselves for not signing up sooner. Or they probably won't be but either way they won't have one of these white Tshirts
This will be a nice compensation to people whose Switch was damaged and have to restart Splatoon.
@SlyPlayr09 I will say this every time someone mentions the service and servers. Nintendo games do not use dedicated servers, they use peer to peer which is totally unsuitable, totally insecure and totally cheep.
Unfortunately this game will die when online is released...
On release the online will be so unpopular that Splatoon will be unplayable for at least 2 or 3 months as more games trickle in and more gamers worry about their save data and get over their frustration of Nintendo. Eventually everyone will sign up.
It'll take a few months though.
By which point this game will die.
Which is a shame because i would have gotten the game.
Exclusive item? To play this game you have to sign up, that means everyone will be wearing it.
Disgusting
I happy to pay £20 for a revolving cast of old school NES games. Cant wait to play Zelda again
@Nincompoop
Only those that choose the 12 month subscription. If you just buy 1 month, then you will be in your old scrubs
Don't play splatoon, so useless to me.
I choose all my gear for the abilities. I couldn't care less what it looks like.
I don't want to be a cynic (seriously^^) about all of this, but they are kinda asking for it. Also, this drip-feed of information here and there is not the way it is supposed to go right after a Direct that should have covered all these things in great detail - at least, that was my, I feel, resonable expectation.
Nintendo’s drip-feed of information is making me less and less interested in the online subscription. There’s zero excitement, just humdrum news - that’s not what gaming is about. Come on Nintendo! Get some enthusiasm! Make the service unmissable! But no, we get yawnable features delivered in a monotone (at least that’s how I read each announcement)
I hope this online exclusive content doesn't spread to other games.
Yeah, considering you actually NEED online to play Splatoon 2 to it's fullest, it's not a very exclusive set. And it's not what I'd going to push me to subscribe to the service.
@Yrreiht @Djgoa "Lol thats not very exclusive in my book"
While I usually jump on words like this as well - I hate anybody calling anything "free" that you have to pay for, I prefer "bonus" or "also" as in "But wait, there's more!" just don't call it free - but they're use of the term "Exclusive" does work here b/c it's "Exclusive" to people who sign up for the 1 year plan. While most people - I'd say 90% - will sign up for 1 year, you may also have people signing up for 1 month or 3 months just to try it out or play for awhile, and they wont' get it.
Exclusive to 1 year subscribers is accurate. So not everyone will have them, maybe only 90%. But it's still technically exclusive.
@Monkeythief "Was gonna get the subscription anyway so this is a neat bonus." <-- I'm glad somebody else sees it this way.
@Razer As much as I dislike the new online service, Splatoon 2 most certainly won’t die as a result of its implementation. Have you seen the massive levels of obsession for the game in Japan? There are millions of people that will be buying the service for Splatoon alone. It’s communities for less popular games like ARMS that are going to wither away and die later this month.
The service is not worth it. One it doesn't allow cloud saves for all games. Two you have to be online once a week to retain the NES games. Three you lose your cloud saves if you don't keep the service. This is so far behind the times. Other companies allow cloud saves for free. Until these issues are fixed I'm not buying it because it simply is not worth it in the current state
@thesilverbrick but with the current peer to peer connection module it really doesn't matter as most people won't actually be able to connect with Japan to play and vice versa.
For peer to peer to work from say North America or Europe to Japan, all parties must have strong internet connections. Their connections as well as ours don't allow us global coverage which is why servers are so popular, they allow real global communications.... Some people might have good internet connections and can pull it off but the vast majority wont be able too.
@thesilverbrick this is also a reason why Japanese players are super rare in games. Not that there arnt any... Its because our connections and theirs dont allow us too... Like i said some can pull it off though, thats why their rare but not unseen.
@JR150 this, MK8 DX, ARMs and Rocket League are what makes the service worth it to me.
We got more features on the original Wii, Original Nintendo 3DS and Wii U than we have on the Switch but now charging for the online for the Switch? Charging for online Switch is annoying when we had more features and free online on past Nintendo systems!
I guess today will be my last day playing Splatoon 2 multiplayer because I can't see myself paying for this Switch online service in the current state it is in. The whole "Gotta check in with 7 days on your Switch or you cannot play those NES games" sounds so much like the DRM thing XBOX 1 was trying to do back in 2013;
You lose your cloud saves if you dont renew the service; playing the same old NES games we had play on past Nintendo consoles for the umpteenth time. Yes, I understand these games got added an online component to them which is cool. However, that does not take away the fact that we are getting less and paying more for it.
There is NO FREAKING this is Nintendo of America or Europe! This has to be from that "old guard of Nintendo of Japan!" WHAT INTERESTING TIMES WE ARE LIVING IN!!!!!! I cant wait to see how things play out in the coming months with this Switch online stuff. It sucks that people are gonna get this thing while realizing it or not that we are paying MORE and getting LESS!!!! (Sigh) No Nintendo. I'm not getting your online service. Not like this...
An additional incentive to get the 12 month subscription. The only thing it had for it so far was it being almost the same/cheaper price as five 1 month sub, or almost three 3 month sub.
Reality is hitting me hard on this today: What will the MK8+ and Splatoon 2 lobbies look like tomorrow? ARMS? I am in disbelief that Big N did not pair this launch with a must have online game (cough, MK9 cough)
@Razer I won’t have to worry as most of my matches in Splatoon are with Japanese players.
@Mrtoad in all my time playing online games on Nintendo consoles i can actually count the amount of Japanese players I've played with on both hands... I wont even need all my fingers... (7 or 8 at most)
@JR150 Can't wait to pay for a service with less people playing online.
@bluedogrulez they kinda did but its not going to do much good... Smash is it... Unfortunately though Smash has had a history of bad online multiplayer gaming due to lack of dedicated servers and also seems to be much more popular on the local multiplayer scene.
😶...🤣🤣🤣😒
Yeah no. I’m fine with “shelving” my Splatoon 2. I’ve got lots of other games that don’t require me having to kiss Nintendo’s a$$ to play. When Nintendo is being more sensible, I’ll start playing it again. I’m perfectly content with my offline-capable games.
@BigKing lol you don't even own a Switch though 😂😂
@Razer But that's not until December. And despite it's popularity, I don't think Smash correlates super well to Nintendo's core fans like Mario Kart does. Oh well. trying to keep an open mind . . . .
@Razer Stay off the crack.
@SwitchplayerJohn It's not the same price. Family plan is $35. XBox Live Gold is $60 but can be found on sale for $50. Switch isn't quite as cheap as "$20" sounds, but it's still cheaper than XBLG to cover all the accounts on your system (only 8, but that's all you can have on one Switch anyway.) So it's still considerably cheaper for the group on Nintendo.
Where XBLG/PS+ wins heavily though is digital purchases. You can log into any X1/PS4 and play your library. Switch tells you you can only play it on your primary console. You can't even buy a second copy of a digital game for a second console, you're totally locked out of digital on any machine but your primary. XBLG/PS+ lets you play your library on two consoles simultaneously (you on someone elses' console logged in online, someone else on your console in their account.) That's not even a pipe dream for Switch.
So in paying to play online Switch is still the cheapest price no matter how many users. Unless you're buying idividual subs rather than family subs, in which case for 3 users it's the same price as XBLG (when not on sale.) But XBLG/PS+ offer features that will be useful for some players (a.k.a. digital buyers) Nintendo won't offer.
Personally I find that highly frustrating as I have two Switches, and can't just take my Splatoon and play on either one of them even though it's digital.
@bluedogrulez Well it was supposed to be paired with Splatoon last July.............
Then it was supposed to be paired with Mario Tennis in June.....
Now it's paired with Smash. I still don't know what took a year and a half of delays to put together a service that still doesn't seem different from adding a paywall to the existing online and adding a members only VC. Did they really spend 16 months getting cloud saves working?
The point is, what is the type of player Nintendo is aiming at with the switch, kids or grown ups. i saw a few interesting video's handling this topic. My kids play the heck out the ps4, why? Because all their classmates are on ps4, (none of their friends are on Switch). No app but that great dualshock controller in which they can plug in their headset and they are in parties chatting with eachother even while there not playing the same game. And when they like to show that to eachother they can share the screen. And it all works seamless. I think that is worth the money, plus the extra psn games. Now Nintendo, their service is cheaper. But i got my NES and SNES mini already up and running so i'm in no shortage of NES games. Besides, i have my original nes, snes and so on, still working. When i get the 12 month subscription, then why do i need to log in within 7 days?! I take my switch on the road a lot, sometimes without connecting to the internet for a week or so. Then, third party developpers stated they are happy with the switch salesnumbers. Which proves that a decent part of the community are no kids, at all. Then why does Nintendo still behaves like their buyers are little kids?! It beats me. This online service is a lousy excuse to take your money without giving any value in return, and to mask this they put in all this NES stuff, which is also cheap as hell. I'm a fan since the beginning, supported every system, even like my WiiU a lot, but now i'm drifting away from them. It is not all that bad. But i already got MK8 on my WiiU, and still play that game, yes, no problems finding a group to race with these days but now i have to pay to play the same game on Switch. It just not feels ok. Even the original Splatoon is still alive on WiiU. So i gues the WiiU will probably see some old players returning to that doomed console. This is a bizarre situation, totally. Looking forward to a lot of Switch games, but i will avoid online games and wait to see how this will develop in the near future.
@BigKing lol all you ever do is talk trash about Nintendo or Nintendo Fans on every topic... Just looked at all your comments. Not a single positive word about Nintendo not once... Ever.
If you expect me or anyone else to believe you actually own a Switch... Then its defo you that needs to stay off the crack 😂😂😂
@NEStalgia lol of course not... It took them this long because had this been released with the console... Do you actually believe Nintendo would have gotten 20m sales?
Isn't it obvious? They delayed this online service because they know it wont be popular... If it had been released with the console then Nintendo would be in a similar situation than the WiiU was before.
Now they have a sizeable instal base to work with.
@Razer You know, technically I think launching it with the console would have given the whole thing better optics with less backlash and confusion, and I think they missed the boat not launching it at launch, and it was some manner of extreme confusion and a badly botched outsource job that made this disaster take 1.5 years. It was supposed to be a Splatoon money extractor after all.
And yet...there's a part of me that thinks you may just be right....
@NEStalgia It's very hard to actually predict what might have happened had they released the Online with the Switch launch, i genuinely think there would have been some backlash from no proper voice chat, limited time for cloud storage and no dedicated servers though.
But would they have been so fool hardy to release a console without those features after the WiiU flop? I know Nintendo takes risks but they are not stupid. To release a new paid sub with no redeeming features with a new console would have certainly effected their overall sales of that console, especially as there were at the time a limited collection of games.
On the flip side we do know what did happen when they released it without paid online... It was a huge success.
That's my reasoning behind why they didn't do it at least, i could be wrong but i dunno, that defo seems like something Nintendo would do.
@KoekiieWoekiie Fair enough. But since there's not much we can do, may as well embrace some side of it.
@BigKing This is Nintendo. They can turn it around. If sure if they look at the like/dislikes on the Online trailer video, they'll know something is wrong. They aren't like a certain other company that doesn't care about its customers.
@Razer Yeah, that does make a lot of sense, and it could be true. But the endless delays still feels more like a disastrous outsource. At launch I agree, but.....I think ARMS and Splatoon and Kart were timed to make the most of the online and push people into it.....I don't think they enjoyed having to delay it through that launch window. The SECOND delay may well have been to just wait for Smash though.
@NEStalgia i think the length of the delay and repeated delays were more for Splatoon really...
Now this i could defo be wrong on, but i somehow think after Iwata died, many at the top pushed for change away from Online Multiplayer features...
Its very telling that many features such as messaging and voice chat have pritty much all disappeared after he died. Remember Miiverse? Wasn't that Iwata's baby? They killed it pritty much after they buried him.
I also think that Splatoon 2 maybe Nintendo's farewell to online gaming, its really the only game they have with an overwhelming focus on Online Multiplayer. I mean the mobile online app only supports that one game and has done for over a year.
Smash
Kart
Arms and others all have a huge focus on single player as well as online multiplayer.
So my point here is that Nintendo are getting ready to focus mainly on single player gaming... Like i said i could well be wrong but the lack of support from devs that focus on online Multiplayer gaming seem to not be present, EA, Activision and Rockstar, the former 2 are very strange as they have both supported Nintendo before....
And the same time increased support from single player devs such as Bethesda and Square are also very telling...
So to summarize i actually think the delay was to give Splatoon one last hooray... Before Nintendo focuses on the single player experience.
Also look at the other features we are getting with the online... Cloud saves, VC games and one half of a special offer for a physical product - none of this helps online gaming in any way shape or form... Yet its given with an online sub... That tells me their focus is moving away from online.
I won't be surprised if we never see a Splatoon 3... With Metroid replacing it as an evergreen game.
@NEStalgia i don't actually think Nintendo will drop online altogether but i can defo see this bare bones service getting no additional features such as voice chat or messaging or dedicated servers or friend lobbies...
It will remain as it is and going forward i see a lot less focus on online gaming from their games.
I could be wrong and i hope i am but it really seems thats how they want to go... They are still the only option for local multiplayer gaming...
They could throw a huge focus into online co-op instead of online multiplayer... I do see a healthy online co-op community of games being popular on the Switch too.
@Razer I don't know at the Switch launch they seemed to be embracing e-sports and every first party game was online oriented: MK8D, ARMS, Splatoon 2, Mario Tennis, Smash. Especially with Smash, online isn't going away any time soon. I was actually annoyed that Nintendo seemed to be moving into this all online multiplayer direction like EA, Ubi, and Microsoft.
I would actually be thrilled if they back away from online as you suggest. But especially with a monetized revenue stream I'm not sure I see that happening.
I don't doubt though that there was a push at the top, particularly from Miyamoto to get out of online. It's a tricky territory, owned by their competition which means competing head-on. And honestly, it's not were a mostly portable device is going to shine so there's a very real debate about whether Switch should have ever prioritized online the way it did. I'm not sure I associate Iwata with online though. Not to mention with their Japan focus, other than Splatoon, Japan doesn't really do online, so for Nintendo I can't see it being a priority.
Your speculation actually makes me giddy: A return to single player form for Nintendo. It would be a dream if it were true. I was not entirely pleased with the "online everything!" direction of Switch 15 months ago. Though, well EA's been absent a long time. Activision is bringing Diablo which is technically very online focused. (Solid single player and local coop but shines so much online.) I think that speaks more to Switch being ill suited as a mobile device for excessive online.
I do think Splatoon 3 will happen....on another console. It's still a huge IP for Nintendo overall. Can't let that languish.
But I do also agree: This service won't change much in terms of online features. It is what it is.
Yeah online coop would be great. Other than Splatoon I don't do online competitive at all these days, but I like coop. Diablo3/TitanQuest/Victor Vran are fun because of that. That's one thing that amazes me about Microsoft exclusives, so many of them are coop focused (Halo 1-5 + Reach + ODST, Gears of War 1-5+Judgement, are all very co-op drop in driven. Forza Horizon supports coop, Crackdown 3 (supposedly) will support Coop. Sea of Thieves (of course, Rare...) is all about cooperation + PvP. It's kind of very Nintendo aside from the heavy air of military themes )
But I think Nintendo's in a strange market. Online competitive play belongs to PC and XBox and Paystation. Single player story driven belongs to PS. MS is embracing coop and PC-like gaming. Nintendo is kind of an also-ran in online. But the small little gimmick games that made DS and even 3DS so successful have migrated mobile. So they really have to carve between the lines to find that niche or overlooked gameplay. They've too long gone for quirky family play but now that's getting competition from outside the console space, and its not Switches strongest feature. They've settled well with the retro niche and the RPG niche. After that S-E FF dump last week Switch is now pretty much the RPG machine. And who needs online on an RPG machine?
@NEStalgia i certainly do associate Iwata with online gaming, i dunno why but it always seemed like between him and Miyamoto there was a tug of war between increased online focus and decreased... All the online heavy features we use to have while he was alive have all but disappeared after he died.
Maybe the initial increased focus on online was the lingering effects of Iwata's influence on the company, as that effect wears off so does the companies desire to pursue the mans vision. That's at least my own perception of this.
I too sort of wish for an increased single player focus but i think a good balance is really needed for maximum access to the market they operate in.
For us its great that they would focus on single player but not everyone would feel like we do. Also i do like a bit of Doom online and a few rounds of Mario Kart here and there...
To be honest though this theory of mine is wild speculation... I have no real solid info that would indicate this to be true... All i can do is speculate 😬
Was ok with it until I found out it was $20 PER account. Smh.....Not really cheaper than XBOX after all.
@Razer Hmm, well, if that's true, then I actually agreed with Iwata's vision less than I thought I did
Funny thing though is the only games I really do play online are Nintendo's. I was a core Splatoon addict. I played tons of ARMS and Kart online. And that's about it. Waaay back in the day I played Quake 1 semi-competitively (before "eSports" was a word, lol) played Quake 2, Half-Life.....dropped out around Q3 and UT and never really looked back. Splatoon was the first thing that brought me online again in all those years. Doom is awesome single player but I never got into the multiplayer of it.
@MadamTiffany $35 to cover 8 accounts, but your must tie a credit card or PayPal to the account for that plan. But if you do it's still cheaper by far.
@Razer I'm S+ in Splatoon 2(it's too easy compared to 1), number #9 in my country in Puyo Puyo Tetris. Lumines is good. Own a few more Switch games, most are quite lame.
All I need more is Super Smash Bros. The rest of the games are weak. PS4 is way better at the moment.
@BigKing Well you seriously could have fooled me, with all your negativity around here. But i guess looking at the games you play, it looks to me as if you are into competitive gaming, which is fine but its really no surprise your not 100% invested in Nintendo, i just wonder when it was that Nintendo gave you the impression they would throw 100% support behind competitive gaming?
@BigKing now lets take for instance that you are not a fool (you don't seem like it either), you'd certainly have known that Nintendo's main focus isn't games that appeal to you... Some are but most won't be.
So if you factor that in, that you bought into the Switch knowing this, your negativity is even more baffling... Almost counter intuitive of what you already should know.
Has that fact dawned on you yet?
Or maybe you enjoy being negative just for the sake of it?
@Razer I'm not only about competitive gaming. I like the Nintendo titles too like Mario Odyssey. I played Zelda, Mario Kart and already on the Wii U.
The thing is that I need to buy almost every Nintendo console for only a few games. Other than that, they're just really lazy: from the underpowered hardware to the lacklustre online support to the horrible third party support. It has been the same since forever. Now they're also recycling all their old games. The Wii U had games like Tekken, Mass Effect and Call of Duty, free online and N64/DS/SNES VC. Now they come with 3 NES games a month and mobile ports.
I'm not just being negative. The Switch has way more potential than it's current state, but fanboys are parading every turd, so publishers don't even care. They just re-release some old PS3 titles and Humble Bundle games and get 9/10 reviews all over the place.
@rjejr oh, didn't get that it was only for the 1 year subscribers. My bad.
@BigKing i defo agree that there is some serious bias towards Nintendo here but lets be honest, it's a Nintendo fansite, hardly expected to be realistic. They over-rate everything Nintendo related.
Thing is you say the hardware is garbage and lazy, but can you point me towards a more powerful dedicated portable gaming device? (Don't point at high end tablets and phones, those thing cost upwards of £600 and are not dedicated to gaming).
Yes as a home console this would be very sub standard... I cannot imagine anyone would buy this over a PS4 if all they ever do is home console gaming.
But if you want portable or the ability to switch between home console and portable, its really perfect...
I guess there is about 4 or 5 games so far you enjoy? Maybe a couple more in the distance but its still only 19 months old, maybe with all the coming changes, there will be something for you to be less negative about?
This also might be subjective but Nintendo's first party games are easily some of the best games available, surely all this must count for something?
@Razer The Switch isn't that powerful. It's basically the Nvidia Shield hardware from 2015. The only reason it's the most powerful handheld hardware is because they're the only one. If Sony didn't pull out, we would've had a PS Vita 2 that was way more powerful. Hell the Vita supports voice chat, bluetooth headphones, has a browser and plays older PSX games instead of just NES games.
The thing with Nintendo is that they have been a generation behind for over a decade now. It's not only the graphics, but we even get old games from way back. You know the next Nintendo console will get PS4 graphics and PS4 ports. And all Nintendo fans will be celebrating it.
The first party games are the ONLY reason I buy Nintendo consoles. Other than that it has been pretty terrible for years and it seems like they've even gotten lazy with their first party games. No new Mario Kart(they didn't even bother to include more tracks), Smash Bros looks like Smash 4 Ultimate with a whole bunch of rehashed content.
A console version of Pokémon should be like what Monster Hunter World is compared to the 3DS games. A big open online world. Not that gimmicky stuff they are releasing in november.
Where are F-Zero, Mother/Earthbound, Wave Race, 1080, Star Fox, Rhythm Heaven, Wario Ware, Sin & Punishment, Advance Wars, Kid Icarus, Golden Sun, Pokemon Snap? How about a 3D Yoshi or Kirby game? Hell, tell Konami to make a new Mystical Ninja Starring Goemon. Recruit the Timesplitters team to make a FPS with split screen multiplayer like Goldeneye/Perfect Dark. Do something.
Nah let's make Luigi's Mansion 3. Who the hell wanted that?
Please stop saying Splatoon 2, or any other game for that matter, will “die” because of Fortnite.

Splatoon isn’t going anywhere. And in 6 months, Fortnite will be a relic.
