Salmon run is my favourite splatoon mode so I hope this takes it to the next level. I’m down for single player salmon run

mad anyone thinks they're going to get a decent story out of a franchise who's only story is bowser kidnaps princess, mario saves them. All I really go in for with these is a jaunt around a world I love, rendered beautifully, and it sounds like it definitely delivers in that respect.

Look the movie is no Toy Story, and no one is expecting to be…Most of these reviews have no prior love for the source material so don’t get it. Also Mario itself is a sugar rush that jumps from lava world to snow world within minutes so a film that does that too isn’t the strangest thing in the world. kids have short attention spans!

superb little indie, just does hat it says on the tin well. revolutionary? no, but tonnes of polish and doesn't outstay its welcome.

Nice blocks are expensive these days, like you keep saying in the article. Google Avdar blocks for example. The price of nice wooden kids blocks knows no bounds, so its not really shocking to me. Also no-one is making you buy them, its not like an essential purchase, so for a niche product for big nintendo fans with babies, feel like its fine. I don't feel like these are designed to sell hundreds of thousands of units.

its the first must buy game for the switch 2. Theyve knocked it out of the park. and i can see this franchise living on for decades now.

Never got the hype of black flag. Way too much boating around and I found it boring, still prefer II/III/Unity/Syndicate.

Geuinely mental they spend more on the advertising and merch vs making the bloody thing.

@Dev-N some people are never happy are they. I personally have a backlog of a bout 7 games currently on my switch 2, and am perfectly happy with the amount of games. With Pokopia and Mario tennis coming imminently too, there’s plenty of first party. I’d be happy to wait to the end of the year for a mainline Mario etc. I think the lineup so far has been great.

@pizzagroom if you have a switch 2 its a no brainier, it looks fantastic and runs like a dream.

If this turns out even remotely good, everyone has a right to be pissed at both Game Freak and Nintendo for allowing the bare minimum to be done on Pokémon over the past decade.

@SlimeRyu This. Not everyone cares even though there’s a vocal community about it. it get most of my games digital tbh. Not everyone cares even chat needs to be about GKCs.

What a colossal waste of money from microsoft to pay so much for something they have basically already killed immediately. shareholder culture is ruining the gaming industry. Where is the shareholder value in that?

yesterday i was playing the latest Assassins creed at 40,000 feet on a plane on a device that weighs just over 500g.

People who complain about the slow gameplay just don't get it; its the whole point. You're meant to feel slow and methodical in this world, its not a Japanese RPG or Assassins Creed where you sprint around everywhere, it wasn't ever meant to feel like that. Life in The west is meant to feel hard, slow and full of effort. Its a fantastic game and the slowness only makes you feel the narrative more.

Yep, been saying this for years- lighting is way more important than polygons, in the same way that a movie looks better than a serial tv show, even if they're shot on the same cameras.

I reckon someone will make an emulator that can fit in before long, looking forward to it.

i'm confused, is it the same game as PS5 or not? like is the physics and animations and feel of the gameplay idenitcal? ( i know the frame rate isn't, but if its Ps5 at 30fps then thats all i want!)

i'm hoping its good, but they way Nintendo just chucked it in the middle of the direct just makes me feel like they have no faith in it. lets hope it turns out ok.

@Warioware yeah im all for difficulty but tricks like this are just unfair and frustrating, and only hurt players who aren't using guides to get through the game, (ie: playing it properly) don't know what they were thinking.

i just want it running well in handheld. on TV i would always use PS or Xbox instead. but for a bit of fifa on the go, i hope they can pull it off, even 40fps would be fine on the VRR screen

i don't understand why EA doesn't support FC properly on switch, its half the bloody sales every week! so so lazy. Hope FC26 is a proper version.

I don't agree with it but I get people's frustration, nintendo are so opaque so people feel like this might be the only way to get to them. I don't understand why they STILL don't get online can have more than one mode. its 2025!

Well frankly with 4m sold this is a lovely problem for them to have I’m sure they’re very happy.

@MarsOne Looking at all time european sales though switch is at 38m in europe and playstation at 27m.. Yes, its closer, but still switch dominating over the past 8 years.

@Stwert yes i agree modern games struggle to run on it. 100%. But if i was running a game development business shouldn't I be targeting switch over anything else? The market is 3x or more as big if I can crack it. (Honestly, its no wonder cross platform games like fortnite and minecraft are so so successful and why something like Marathon can't get off the ground.)

@jamesthemagi 150m switches around the world would kinda tell a different story, but I know Japan is slightly different yes.

mad when you see it next to PS5. Still at 6.6m (inc digital) and switch is already 1/6 of that in a week.

Just look at Switch 1, basically at 35.6m. wow.

Why does the games industry only focus on Xbox and PS5? Switch is so far ahead its not even close.

@Soopaboi07 i was already pretty sure they would hold some surprises back, but this reassures me they definitely have!

I think a lot of us are waiting for a sale price to be honest as these are quite old games many of them. Also after shelling out north of £400 for the console and with its backwards compatibility, meaning redipping into old games, I reckon most people are holding off a bit until they purchase their next game, perhaps till next month when they've been paid again. (though admittedly this will likely be spent on Donkey Kong!)

Cannot wait until they add Mario Kart World. Its the mario soundtrack to end all soundtracks.
