We're just not there yet internet speed wise, everyone's spec is wildly different and everyone lives different differences from exchanges. One day this will be the way we play, but it's just a few years early right now.
Having said that, the more they keep trying, the more the infrastructure will improve. Eventually we'll be playing RDR2 on the London Underground on the iPhone 17!
Realistic Lighting, is more important than resolution, or framerate IMO. I wish the next generation would just stick with 1080, or even 1440 and go for amazing ray tracing, rather than worry about getting to 4k and the lighting being the same because all the CPU is being wasted on that.
Movies don't look better in higher resolutions and higher frame rates (anyone seen the Hobbit!?) it's all about the lighting. Can't wait until developers really find the sweet spot with the ray tracing hardware we now all have access to.
