I loved this game, and what a year for games it is. On a different note, I'm glad I never have to meet the people who voted 1/10 on polls like these. I'm sure they don't have souls
Looks great. Love seeing weird stuff like this. Hollow Knight was great, but this looks interesting too Probably not the greatest metroidvania of all time, but not everything needs to be the greatest :L
This is a really interesting look. I agree with a lot of this, but I think we can all agree, there is a load of great stuff to play on the switch 2! 😆
I'm surprised guardians of azuma is number one. Might just be recency bias, as I would rate 3 and 4 above it comfortably. They are all very good games, but guardians of azuma just had so much tutorialisation and bordered on style over substance in areas. Honestly, after 20 hours, I feel completely done with it even with the story only 1/2 finished. Interesting to see what is popular though
It's interesting. I liked fast rmx, but nothing more than that. I love fast fusion. The track design is incredibly strong, the fusion mechanic is surprisingly deep and it runs flawlessly. Honestly, I'm not ashamed that I've put more hours into this than mk world. It just has a unique charm that other games lack
@Lord not defending game keycards but not buying them isn't going to stop the industry going down this path. if the sales are low, they will just stop physical releases altogether. i hate that this is what we have now, but this truly is all we've got
I bought Fantasy Life i last friday. In that time I have put 80 hours in... I have not had a game consume me like this since I was a wee cub. It just has this sort of hypnotic power over me
Might be controversial, but I'm against QOL and mass-creating features in Animal Crossing. Yes, it would make it easier, but it would also sort of dilute the fun of the game itself. Slowly working your way through the game is the point, and it's the way I have fun with it. If I could grind myself through the game in one go by mass crafting things, buying everything from shops or even through microtransactions, I wouldn't enjoy AC nearly as much. I understand the desire, but I think it works so well for this sort of slow-paced game.
have it on steam. great game. shame about the tech issues, but really fun game. 6 seems a little harsh considering the game is fun beside the tech issues, but i suppose that can really impact the fun you have. Either way, snap this up when on sale i think
As a long term fan of the series, i want to love this but everything i see this, i just can't seem to get hyped. It just seems to be losing what makes the series so fun to me. It will probably be great, but, i don't understand why this isn't hitting the same.
@Anti-Matter physical releases don't make sense for a lot of games because they're not gonna make the cost of printing. downloadable games make sense in the current environment
As someone who never played Banjo Kazooie (or any N64 game) as a child, going back and playing games like Mario 64, DK 64, Goemon (especially Goemon), and Conker are a real treat. But playing Banjo Kazooie just wasn't enjoyable in any way. I won't try and tell anybody they're wrong but it's interesting that Banjo is above Mario? Won't try and argue that there is big fun to be had here, however. :L
Playing on PC and I love it. It is an incredibly fun experience. But being a Sonic game, it will always be divisive. If you want an open game that has excellent platforming mechanics and movement controls and a great sense of flow, this is perfect. If you want a perfectly crafted polished masterpiece this is not your bag. :L
I like this quite a lot but... Am I the only one who thinks that the dialogue fonts are ugly as all hell? I'm sure the gameplay will be as good as ever but man...
@bluemage1989 It's flagged as a rumour and it is Nintendo related news. I get that you want to take the spotlight away from the people who claim to be in the know but that's just how news cycles work. If you don't write about it, you're just missing out on views/ the benefit yourself.
@Mauzuri Because DQ 11 was one of the best-selling entries in the series and built upon everything the series had done up to that point. I'm not saying you need to like it but a DQ spinoff game with characters from the very popular 11, is a no-brainer.
I can't post the word that describes this man because it goes against every inappropriate content warning there is. With the amount of stories regarding his treatment of his colleagues, I have no time for this man, despite actually enjoying Balan Wonderworld for what it is. A man who was once on top has become a joke. And that's just sad.
Whenever I hear a '''''leak''''''' like this, I begin hoping that they are wrong with all my being. Leaking and rumour-mongering will always happen but I yearn for a future where these people are ignored and we can all just wait patiently for actual news. But I am a dreamer.
Still haven't really seen anything about modes. If it is completely online-focused, as it is increasingly seeming like it is, I might pass. It just doesn't keep me as engaged as good single-player content. Hope I'm wrong.
@johnvboy Not sure it's about not making new games; more just preserving the old so that future generations can experience the roots of gaming. Like museums and galleries but for games.
I mean... Is it just me that is struggling to see anything new about this one in comparison to the old ones. I'm doubting there is much single player stuff to do and considering how disappointed I was with golf and aces, I can't justify picking this up regardless of how much I enjoyed the previous entries. Underwhelming to me but I'm sure other people will find something to enjoy, especially if you haven't played a GameCube or a Wii.
I was initially unimpressed but a closer look at these screenshots leave me much more optimistic. Sure, I know the framerate won't be amazing but it looks like a step up from Sword and Shield.
@Fairburne prior entries are fine but much better on other systems.
Splitscreen isn't coming to he switch version, according to their website anyway. Great series but just isn't viable on switch without adaptive triggers for throttle and braking
I'm not a massive fan of huge corporations (because of course) but I understand why buying a game studio can be both good and bad. Honestly, just for the potential positives that come with it, I would like to see a closer relationship between Sega and Nintendo but people willing a company to buy out another one is bizarre. Maybe instead of buying a company, an exclusivity contract could be struck or something. I dunno. It's a weird world now, man.
My problem with these reimaginings of Nintendo games in Unreal Engine is that they sort of become bland and soulless. I mean it looks pretty but I'd take a low resolution BOTW style game over the bland Skyrim-like Unreal engine any day.
I actually started replaying this game the other day and it holds up remarkably well. I remember setting a time on the Wuhu track in time trials and my brother was amazed that I was going so fast. Good memories.

Re: Soapbox: Pokémon Legends: Arceus Raises The Question - How Much Do Janky Graphics Matter?

Re: Japanese Magazine Nintendo Dream Might Be Teasing A New Game
Yeah, the Japanese writing actually says 'sorry if this doesn't happen' after the statement so this is far from a certainty.

You speak the truth. The game was a fun time waster. It would probably go down better on mobile but I'd love a return to this game.
