You know the game is free, right? It is an okay game but to call it a scam because of OPTIONAL microtransactions seems to be a bit of a stretch. It's nice to see mobile games being consistently updated. I'm primarily a console gamer but there is nothing wrong with the concept of mobile gaming.
Don't care how similar it is. It looks like a fun game. The story and combat looks sufficiently different enough for me to justify purchasing it (providing there are no dreadful bugs of course).
@Wexter I completed the Golden Deer route (and started down the path of all the others) and was left unsatisfied. There are so many parts of the story that undermine the overall message. One complete storyline would have tied the threads together better in a game that is pretty much flawless in every other area (the gameplay is superb). I was just holding out for a single route as it feels like every route (played in isolation) is missing something. DLC probably won't help this but it is always nice to dream. I am glad you like the game but I really don't think it is finished 'story-wise'. The fact you have to play through 4 storylines to get the 'complete picture' just doesn't click with me like it does with others. I am just hoping the next instalment goes back to the one route method (although I doubt it).
If this gives us a proper, complete ending, I am in. If not, I might give it a miss. Hopefully, they use the story to tie up the loose ends and improve on what they had. Not a fan of three houses but the dlc deserves a shot.
I played the demo. Very impressed with the art style and the quality of life changes that they have made. I would have preferred a remake of the sequel or a new game but I will take another quality game on the Switch with pleasure.
If the games are good, price doesn't matter. If its shovelware, then maybe the games making it on the system (Santa Tracker/ Bingo) need to be filtered a bit.
Irritated. I understand the decision. I get it that the game sold well and there is opportunity there. I didn't enjoy Sword and Shield but gave the benefit of the doubt because they are getting used to new hardware. But to put content that longtime fans are used to getting for free (all pokemon/ national dex debacle) and locking areas behind a paywall seems like a stupid move that is going to divide the fanbase even further. Yes, it's still Pokemon. Yes, people will still pay for it. You could even make a case that this will make the next game better due to the extra work they are putting in. But, how many times can you give them the benefit of the doubt. For a game with trees that look dreadful and pretty average graphics across the board, paid DLC is tough to take
If it's patched and the performance issues are fixed; I will definitely buy it. However, no real excuse with performance issues considering Witcher 3 runs beautifully on the system.
Well. I'll watch it. My guess maybe a spinoff series (Mystery Dungeon at a guess) might get a mention. MAYBE DLC for sword and shield, but damn, I hope not.
Instead of a remaster, I think it really needs a reimagining. Sonic Adventure was great for its time but I think, to bring it up to 2020 game standards, they might have to do something a little different to avoid disappointing fans (again). Reworking the Knuckles sections comes to mind.
Super Mario 3D World is arguably the greatest Mario game ever so it would be a shame if it didn't get a second chance. Xenoblade X would be nice too. Amused to see Amiibo Festival on the list.
@Expa0 I am glad I am not the only one really disappointed with the game. The bit that gets me is the story; it is just convoluted and bad. I understand that they are trying to broaden the audience (and it has obviously worked) but it just feels like a massive sell-out.
I actually really like the game. It is different from a lot of the other stuff I play and they changed so much from the original beta/demo. Always respect developers that take the feedback and make a much better game because of it. The updates are nice too.
Had a feeling the Wild Area would be the main success. I imagine the next mainline game will have a full focus on a whole game wild area. The game still seems like a lot of fun; regardless of the controversy.
I watched a let's play online of the first couple of hours of the game and it looks like a step up from the 3ds games. It is a good game. Maybe, one day in 10 years time, they might be able to create a multi-region game with all of the pokemon in it, but for now, why not just enjoy this new game for what it is going to be; another solid Pokemon experience with better graphics than ever
Because of the way they announced this originally (trolling people into believing Persona 5 was coming to Switch with Persona 5 S), I wanted this game to look really bad. Unfortunately, it looks really good fun. And, I know I will buy it. Damn.
I am really enjoying this top three and glad to see FE not right at the top as I had feared. Amazing that Phoenix Wright still appears on a list like this (in the top 10!) despite being pretty much the same game it was on the gameboy advance. Quality lasts.
This is a great game. To be fair, it is currently the only mobile game I am playing. It is generous with free content and although probably not as wide-ranging as FE Mobile, the fact that it is a new IP shows that Nintendo is putting a lot into this mobile world (despite the Microtransaction Kart debacle)
I want 11 of these. This is ridiculous. What happened to the good old days (i.e. the start of the year) when there was nothing coming out and my bank account looked healthy...
Unless they come out with a new route that actually has an 'ultimate route', I doubt I will be picking up the game again. The split routes just don't work for me despite the obvious quality the gameplay provides.
So basically, this game is just as great as it was on the ps3/ xbox and when they add the online multiplayer in a patch later on; it is pretty much a must-have for racing-loving switch owners. This was one of my favourite games back on the PS3 so definitely saving up for this one. Great review.
This review is really well written. It had me laughing the whole time. I like anime a lot but the idea of shooting bullets at a women in order to turn them on doesn't appeal much. Even then, bad reviews aren't going to stop the game reaching the niche. Those that are interested have already made their minds up before reading a (well-justified) 3/10. I don't think the guy was saying 'all boobs are bad'; just that this is done so distastefully.
Persona 5 is merely a pipedream now but it would be nice to see Super Mario 3D World come over. Wouldn't be surprised to see a Mario Golf game coming. Heck, I just like watching the directs.
This review read like a higher score. It is wonderful on the PS4 and the developers seem to really care about improving it (I think there has been 5-6 patches since the release). Happy to see the reasonable Switch price as well.
Not a bad score but I must admit, I was hoping the game would have a bit more story depth considering how good it actually looks. Might pick it up eventually but certainly not tomorrow (like I was planning).
It makes me smile. As someone who speaks a little Japanese, I can appreciate the absurdity of the lyrics. But, nice. Fits the tone of the game. Fun and upbeat.
I really wanted to like Mario Maker but after a couple of hours creating a below par course, being trolled 10 times and completing 5-6 of the Nintendo made levels, I decided that the game is not for me. I'll leave it to the young and creative.

Re: Review: AO Tennis 2 - A Decent Tennis Sim Ruined By Woeful Performance On Switch
A shame but sort of expected. I really wanted this to be good but performance issues are pretty much a deal-breaker for me. :/

I hope AO tennis 2 gets a review. I won't buy without once considering BigBen's track record is a bit iffy.

Re: The Original Pokémon Mystery Dungeon Games Are Being Remade For Switch
The only good news in that 20 minutes as far as I am concerned. Feeling a little smug about predicting this to be fair.
Re: Poll: What To Expect From The Pokémon Direct - Post Your Pokémon Predictions
Spinoff title; Mystery Dungeon announced either for switch or maybe mobile. Prediction. Better than adding anything to Sword and Shield
Re: Feature: Game Of The Decade Staff Picks - Fire Emblem: Awakening
My favourite game of all time; let alone the decade. Blows Three Houses out of the water.

Re: Feature: Prepare To Meet The Light! Where Is Kid Icarus: Uprising On Switch?
Seriously one of the best 3DS games available. I would love more games in the series but I have a feeling it could be a few years away.

Ashen appeals but must admit, just waiting for the Christmas Sale.
Re: Level-5's Snack World Is Finally Making Its Way To The West
Played the Japanese version and watched some of the anime. The game is good fun and the art style is really nice. Glad it's coming to the west.

Grid is my choice but it has been one hell of a month for games. I probably won't get around to playing some of these until next September...
Re: Pokémon Sword And Shield Will Have 18 Gyms Spread Across 'Major' And 'Minor' Leagues
This is something I can get behind. It would make the 'grand adventure' feel that little bit grander; despite the missing pokemon.

Wasn't interested. Tech demo was dreadful. Played the new demo and had a blast. Will be getting ASAP.
Re: Review: AI: The Somnium Files - Another Gem From The Creator Of The Zero Escape Series
Didn't know this was coming out so soon. I might have to splurge on this; it looks wonderful.

I have dropped Fire Emblem Three Houses so probably give Smash another go, some Cytus Alpha and then a little bit of F1 2019 on the PS4.
