Mario Strikers: Battle League is out next week, and ahead of its release on the Switch, Nintendo has uploaded a new trailer.
This is another lengthy overview - going through character moves, stats and upgrade customisation. The catch is that it's all in Japanese. Nintendo may localise this 7-minute clip in the near future.
Nintendo has also issued a reminder (via social media), informing football fans to be ready for the "First Kick" demo, which will begin tomorrow (US time) for Nintendo Switch Online members:
"There will be six time slots to play Quick Battle online multiplayer with friends or anyone from 6/3-6/5, so be sure to head to the link below and mark your calendar for the slots you plan to play in!"
And here's the schedule for the UK:

Really can't wait for this. This Strikers Club seem pretty deep for a Nintendo sport game and should keep me playing for a long time. Looking forward to 8 player online matches the most though. With good team mates, it's going to get really competitive.
I’ll try to squeeze in time to try the online demo during the allotted times. That said, while I don’t speak Japanese, the gameplay looks great as always. I’m very excited for this to launch as the previous two entries were local-multiplayer favorites for me and my buddies growing up.
Will this have any sort of solo aspect, like a ‘campaign’? Really looking forward to online though as long as lag isn’t bad like Smash Bros (for me that’s unplayable)
This looks really fun, cant wait to play it, and I'm sure that this game will continue my life long tradition on Mario games of having Toad players/AI as my nemesis.
@ozwally Yes it will. The previous 2 games had a solo campaign so it's safe to assume this one does too.
@RubyCarbuncle Never assume anything is safe with Nintendo these days. Daisy was part of the OG Strikers roster and while I'm sure she'll drop as a free updates, she's nowhere to be seen for now.
@Yosher it's Daisy. Literally who gives a toss.
You diss Daisy, you're not worth anything but a place on my Ignore list. See ya.
@Hunter-D I do, but that's besides the point.
If you want another example: partners and unique characters were a staple of the Paper Mario franchise at one point too before they threw it out the window.
@RubyCarbuncle great to hear, be good to have solo and online to dig into
@Hunter-D I don't hate Daisy or anything but her voice is unbearable.
@Yosher that's fair & to each their own. Think I've reached a point where so long as the ovr exp is not hindered I don't give it a second thought.
@Arkay that and mind-numbingly dull for me personally
Still haven't really seen anything about modes. If it is completely online-focused, as it is increasingly seeming like it is, I might pass. It just doesn't keep me as engaged as good single-player content. Hope I'm wrong.
@gcunit wow xD
How will this game look if you take out mario? It feels like they overused this character on every genre possible.

@Yosher @RubyCarbuncle @ozwally if you go to the gear settings option in the demo, then press + for game guide, there's a button called "Cup battles".
It says 1 to 4 players battle there way through a tournament against cpu teams. Its double elimination. Cpu teams have unique characteristics each match. It explains the upper and lower brackets of the tournament structure etc.
Check it out. That will be the single player content. The button to access it shows two cups so im guessing there will be multiple to work through.
@Sidon_ZoraPrince 👍
@Sidon_ZoraPrince great thanks for the info, I’ll definitely check that out!
@Sidon_ZoraPrince I knew that was there but I didn't read all through it, and also I'm still waiting for the game to come out to see how extensive that mode really is. Which is why I didn't really mention it. Mario Tennis and Golf both had a whole story mode to themselves which I found incredibly boring, so, you know. Just wanting to see for myself if that holds any replay value!
