I was holding off on buying until a review. 10/10 was all I need to see

I finished the game. It was average at best. If you are going to have a gimmicky combat system, reduce the number of encounters so the player doesn't feel forced into so many dull battles. I have never played the 'old paper mario games' but if it was like Bug Fables, this current Paper Mario doesn't touch it. Origami King is an incredibly disappointing experience for me.
Even the Mario & Luigi games are much better than TOK.

It feels odd to see Ring Fit Adventure included as a game in someone's backlog and not just a fitness tool.
I'll be finishing the Golden Deer Route of Fire Emblem Three Houses after coming to terms with the fact that they're never going to create an ultimate route so I'll just have to get used to killing my students...

Wish they could have ended on something new instead of 3-4 games coming out this week. Better than last time but still lacking that star-power I crave. Just hoping a full-fat Nintendo Direct may arrive before I have a nervous breakdown.

@Apportal I love it when somebody says something stupid. It makes me feel good about myself.

Almost finished Origami King. It is okay but can't really say I am enjoying it. I just got so far into it, it seems like a waste to just stop a stone's throw away from the final boss.

@JuiceMan_V I have a backlog of over 100 games and still complain about the drought. First world problems, son.

If these rumoured remasters are just the same games with an HD uprezzing, then I don't really get the hype. If one or all of them are from the ground remakes, then I get the hype. I love all the 3d games including Sunshine but I would need more justification to buy it, if it exists. And that is the big if.

For the price, it seems like good value. Doesn't look as polished as TemTem but I like that Pokemon is getting some actual competition.

I've never bought a metroid game. Would happily buy ports of the older ones on Switch but I can't. Metroid isn't exactly a franchise for everyone but I bet it would sell better on Switch than it had on other consoles. Shame and I hope Nintendo don't give up on it.

Have it on pc. It's great fun and really well designed. It doesn't feel like a knock-off while you are playing it. Probably double dip when it comes out on switch.

I enjoy TemTem a lot. I don't know what it is about recent Pokemon games I dislike; maybe expectations of the evolution of the genre is too high. However, these new copycat games seem to be doing a good job at what they are doing. I'm sure I'll end up buying this down the road.

Paper Mario is fine. Ghost of Tsushima is a masterpiece. Very different games though so odd to compare them

Imagine being the rival of Luigi. Nobody has ever gone; "Oh no, I am in trouble, someone quickly call Luigi!" I pity Waluigi; his self esteem must be rock bottom. No wonder all he says is "Waaah!"

It looks pretty nice, to be fair. It's definitely a wait and see how it runs overall, but they're doing a good job of promoting the game.

It met my very low expectations. This is an awkward poll to write as you have to try to toe the line between people expecting Zelda and people who had realistic expectations. An actual Direct in the near future is a dream but I might have to resort to watching older ones just for the sake of it.

Not my favourite Atelier game but just like Fried Chicken; even the bad ones are still pretty good.

@Citano I just watched the Japanese one and, if that was the one shown in the West, I would have been much more satisfied. Seems like there was just much more content in it.

Underwhelming but it was as advertised. Hoping for an actual direct soon. Because there is very little on the horizon for the rest of the year.

I had low expectations. Ubisoft managed to go below them; that takes some doing.

News on Gods and Monsters would be great. Always have low expectations with Ubisoft but you never know.

I wish that Sega would do something dreamcast related instead of releasing the same arcade games over and over again..

I have a feeling this will be one I buy and it will sit on my shelf for many, many months.

I was amazed that my copy came in the post on Friday. This sort of stuff doesn't usually happen to me so glad to get in early. Still would have been happier if 1& 2 came first.

The fake direct is very checklisty. I don't like it.

I'm not against mobile gaming but happy to see Nintendo focus on console gaming. It is a shame that Dragalia Lost has flopped though, as I think it is wildly enjoyable.

EA seems to be leaning big into cross-play; they mentioned it dozens of time during their event. I like the idea of more Switch games, of course, but if it's all just going to be legacy editions and old ports (at high prices), they might not make the money they crave and then end up blaming Switch owners for not buying their games. We'll see when Fifa 21 Legacy Edition comes out I guess.

Glad it's good. It's not for me but I hope the Sword and Shield fans get what they can out of this.

So, is the story mode just dance battles?

Looks like BOTW x Assasins Creed which is a mix I could definitely sign up for.

Considering how good 51 games is, I understand the compromise but Mario Party does seem a little unloved considering it is a 'Mario' game.

It probably deserved the buzz in Japan but as soon as the story went worldwide, disappointment was inevitable.

@BenAV The gamexplain review scared the heck out of me but after watching about 5 others, it seems like it was a bit over the top. Opinions and all that are fine but it seems like an outlier more than anything. Very relieved.

The real question is have they created new assets for the wild area(s) or are they the same recycled trees as before. Mildly excited for this though.

It isn't true but I like their energy.

Struggling with the hitting mechanics but all in all, a properly fun game. I actually like the cartoony aesthetic so I imagine it is a taste thing more than anything else.

@Anti-Matter It will never, never, never happen but I would kill for Ratchet and Clank on the Switch.

Lost interest after the April's Fools farce. Be great if it was something worth waiting for but, we'll see.

The game is solid. However, I wish they would release a game that followed the story more closely. An arena fighter would be perfect due to One Piece's diverse character roster. As my favourite anime, I really want an amazing game instead of just an okay one. Well, the reason they don't is because fools like me keep buying the okay ones.

It wasn't funny. It wasn't entertaining. You don't announce a joke in advance. That's just stupid.

@carlos82 I have actually found the online to be great and have little-to-no problem with it. Online multiplayer is not something I usually indulge in so I was pleasantly surprised.

I know what I'm spending my student loan on now. :L

I would have liked a big Nintendo announcement to tide us over but the smaller announcements and ports are definitely nice. Probably get most of them. The board game one looks surprisingly wonderful.
However, ending on the Pokemon DLC seemed like a mistake. It seemed like the Direct was building up to a big reveal and then it just fell flat. Still a pleasant surprise.

I could write a paragraph moaning but I'll buy them regardless. :L

@MsJubilee As much as I would love an open-world anime game to experience the story as immersively as possible, it just isn't cost-effective. It is easier for the companies to churn out the anime fighters (arguably, still good games with a large roster). One Piece World Seeker is an example of a different style anime game that bombed as well. We may need to wait a while for a different style of game or just appreciate what we have (One Piece Pirate Warriors 4 is something a little different but even still)...

Maybe some short reviews of indie titles. Not everything is going to be game of the year but reviews of bad/ average games are just important as reviews of great games.

Looks interesting but wait for a heavy sale I think. The idea of a funeral score genuinely draws me in and makes me want to play.
