Am I the only one who looks at that slowpoke and wants it? With the most recent games having just recently come out I haven't a clue what they could be announcing and that's kinda exciting.

If I had to guess, I’d say it’s probably going to be Gen 4 remakes or a Let’s Go-style Gen 2 game coming out this holiday season. Though I’d love to be surprised by something completely different and unexpected...

Maybe they will have a smash announcement for when arms character releasing and they going to release a new Pokémon fighter for fighter 7.

This is disappointing to me. Why not just announce everything here? We need news for other series. There's still a SSB character to reveal this month, and Animal Crossing New Horizons is due for an update video since everything that was covered in the last one has now come.

Times like this, I wish I was a pokemon fan...

I’m almost certain it’ll be Let’s Go Johto based on the plushies in the back being predominantly Johto, as if they are trying to make a point of it and tease us.

Since it has been decided in this board that we will not see MK9 on the Switch, perhaps we will get a Pokemon Racing game!

@PlzUnderstand I think next week’s presentation will have multiple announcements with a highlight on a big announcement. I think Pokémon Sleep could be either depending on how good they think it is, but the highlight will probably be Detective Pikachu 2.

I find this thread quite funny from the perspective of people moaning about a Pokémon Direct, it isn't Nintendo that has done this, it's The Pokémon Company. It never said anywhere that this was to be a direct.

Now I read about the Johto Go, I think it probably is that, I hope it isn't though.
I thought it was surely D & P remakes but on the Sword and Shield engine.
Although I would love it if they blew us all away and done the D & P remakes on a better engine, as if to say we know we were lazy with S&S on the visuals front primarily, so here.
Especially when seeing New Pokémon Snap, while they try to claim it isn't in game footage, they later say at the end for one shot that it is very early game footage. If they can do graphics that good for snap, they sure as hell can actually try to do something somewhat similar for a mainline Pokémon game. Heck do Pokémon BOTW!

While I'd be fine with a Diamond/Pearl/Platinum remake, part of me hopes this is the year where the main series gets a bit of a break. They already seem to be doing a great job with the DLC and spin-off offerings.

I really do enjoy the Pokemon series, but I do feel like more recent games (such as Sun/Moon) really would have benefited from a longer development cycle. Plus, oversaturation is starting to become an issue for me.

I'm guessing Let's Go Johto as all the Pokemon on the shelves in the background are either Gen 1 (Let's Go Pikachu/Eevee are Yellow remakes), Gen 8 (Pokemon Sword/Shield) or Gen 2.

Was hoping for a black and white remake tbh, the mechanics in the let's go games arent very appealing

Possibility 1: New pokemon game
Possibility 2: Something related to Poketoon (I don't know the gist yet, just saw it floating on this site)
Possibility 3: Even more Pokemon dlc. Maybe that's the most likely to happen.

I unironically want to train a Spiky-Eared Pichu. She's relatable to me, being a person who was also born with an unusual ear.

My wishlist is the outlier amongst outliers, obviously. I am quite fond of Johto, but the Let's Go demo for Kanto didn't wow me.

@The-Chosen-one You can see a copy of DX in the background by Ishihara's left shoulder, next to a Detective Pikachu figure. As far as potentially being a teaser goes, it is about as substantial as the evidence for Let's Go Johto, though I'd be surprised if Bandai Namco is working on 2 Pokemon spinoffs at the same time.

I know there are many hints about Let's Go Johto games or any other Johto-related project. But I would honestly be more excited for Diamond and Pearl games or simply, an ORAS-style remake.
A bigger surprise would indeed be if the entire Johto region was remade in a new Sword and Shield expansion, but the chances are lower compared to a new Let's Go game.

@Kalmaro just so u know that black Pika s pretty expensive u should look it up. It’s from a fragment design and pokemon collab. The retail price was 350usd and now it’s double if not triple that price, they have a mew plush as well

Nintendo is not big on listening to fans. It's probably not a D/P/P remake.

Seems like this new project will be the mobile Pokemon MOBA that Tencent/TiMi Studios (the developers of Call of Duty Mobile) is working on.

Given past trends, the game could be on Switch too.

While you pose a valid point, it is 'lazy' imo.
Especially when you consider they would have worked on this alongside US/M, it's the first new generation to ever appear on a 'home' console an when it turns out it wouldn't be surprising if they managed to get this on a 3DS, that's when you know what they done isn't good enough, thus lazy.

Don't get me wrong, I think the game is great, but I'm not blind to its pitfalls.

I'm leaning towards a Detective Pikachu announcement. A sequel to the game was announced for Switch, but there was also confirmation for a Detective Pikachu movie sequel. I can't think of anything else big enough to warrant pushing the announcement a week away. It would have to be something that would overshadow Sw/Sh DLC, and that's THE mainline game for them right now.

Granted, maybe it won't be that big since it's being announced so close to the ARMS character reveal, but I have a feeling it's not going to be a video game. Maybe it'll be something really weird, I don't know.
