Monster Hunter Stories 2: Wings of Ruin has now received a confirmed Switch release date, as Capcom has today announced that the game will launch for the system on 9th July.

The news comes from today's Monster Hunter Digital Event, which is still being streamed live on YouTube and Twitch at the time of writing. The event debuted a brand new trailer for the game which you can relive in the video below.

Alongside the release date news, it was also confirmed that three of the game's characters – Ena, Razewing Ratha, and Tsukino – will be receiving amiibo figures. These will be released alongside the game and will offer in-game bonuses.


And that's not all, as a Deluxe Edition was also revealed. The deluxe edition will include Razewing layered armour sets and a Nergigante-inspired hairstyle for players, the Kuan Coat outfit for your Wyverian companion Ena, two new outfits for Navirou, and two sticker sets depicting the various companions players will encounter through their journey.

The showcase also confirmed that Monster Hunter Rise will soon be receiving a second free demo, with details of future free updates also being shared.
