Update: Well, that was incredibly fast! In just 8.5 hours TY 2 HD has reached its Kickstarter goal.
"Thank you to everybody who has pledged so far! We are so humbled by your support in bringing TY2 to the Nintendo Switch, PS4 AND XB1. What an amazing launch to hit our funding target it just 8.5 hours!"
Australian developer Krome Studios has just launched its Kickstarter for TY The Tasmanian Tiger 2: Bush Rescue HD.
Last year saw the release of the original 3D platformer on Switch, so it's only fitting to see the second entry to follow on from this. At the time of writing, it's already well on its way to reaching its goal of $75,000 USD - with the goal to ship the game before 1st July 2021.
For just $20, you can get your name in the backer credits, an early invite to the pre-order store, and a TY2HD key code for the platform of your choice. Here's what you can expect from the Switch version:
"Support for Nintendo's Joy-Con™ controller for motion controls for throwing the rangs, gliding, precision boomeranging and driving!"
"Add dynamic shadows, water reflection, adaptive brightness, enhanced draw distances and enhanced textures and particle effects in handheld mode for all versions; with improved loading."
"For the PS4, XB1 and Switch in docked mode, we'll also be looking at adding color correction and bloom and anti-aliasing."
"Compatible with both the Nintendo Switch and Nintendo Switch Lite* (*requires extra controllers to be able to use the TY motion controls. i.e. throwing and gliding.)"
TY 2 was originally released on the GameCube, PlayStation 2 and original Xbox in 2004, and published by EA Games.
This sequel is an open-world adventure featuring more boomerangs, mechs and "more everything" - with the task to stop the evil machinations of the "diabolical Boss Cass". The focus will be on releasing the Switch version first.

Currently i'm planning to get Ty Tasmanian Tiger 3 Gamecube version from Tokopedia as i found it was very rare and cheap.
Hopefully the item is still available until i got my salary.
And they say GC/PS2 era platformers were formulaic and repetitive!
Tell me then, what other game lets you save ex President Bush?!
Ty the Tasmanian tiger 1 , 2 & 3 hd are all on pc
I'm happy for the people that want this, but I thought this game was a step back from the first one and won't be double dipping. It abandoned almost everything that made the first game good in favor of bland open worlds with boring and irritating missions and the game was largely forgettable.
I do find it odd they're doing kickstarters for each Ty game when the remasters are already on PC. Can they really not afford to do ports?
Well, that just shows there are people out there who want this game to be ported, doesn’t it?
Why dont they do a physical collection? I'm sure a lot of people would be interested, but they are just dragging out to squeeze out as much money as possible
Someone tell NitroRad
@Bunkerneath Best guess is they want all 3 on the system first. I'd go for a physical trilogy but I've still got the PS2 versions somewhere so either way I'm set.
Had these on PS2 and happily double dipped to have on Switch.
$20 (£14-15) is perfectly acceptable for the game to me. Nostalgia playing a huge part.
I do hope eventually Krome get an investor/publisher on board to make a Ty 4 (proper 3D sequel, not the 2D steam game) for current gen consoles.
