Mostly Zelda, but I absolutely love SK- Specter of Torment as well. The fact that I'm not abandoning Zelda for SoT has dealt with my worries about forgetting about it when I start Bug Fables.
I doubt this sort of game will thrive till pokemon starts entering the public domain. They don't get that it's not the collection people want, it's the characters, which they will never get the rights to.
Bahahaha! This might be the greatest advert/love letter to TotK I've ever seen. Also, when you said "Didn't I already beat the water temple?" It reminded me of how useless hydrants and such become after that quest. Maybe Sidon's power could increase and splashfruit, etc gain the ability to cleanse Malice pools? If that happened, maybe people would build water-splashing devices to do more than instakill the Mucktorock.
I had heard you can attach wheels to portable pots to give a vehicle a suspension system. The whole thing came apart. Then again, I think I was supposed to use small wheels, not big ones.
"Tutorials" should not be part of accessibility. Also, giving a list of "not present" would give a better sense of accessibility. We all know TotK is missing a bunch of features necessary for disabled gamers, (https://www.nintendolife.com/features/soapbox-zelda-tears-of-the-kingdom-straight-up-fails-in-just-one-respect-accessibility) so having it say "Gameplay 3, Assists 6," etc makes it look much better than it is. Putting a /10 or however many feature you count could make the system much better.
@Cashews He is probably just as involved with HC as he was with stardew (I'm guessing, I don't follow news on this game too closely), and I am really looking forward to it. Once 1.6 is out he'll probably go back to HC full time too. I wouldn't write it off yet.
I'd like to repeat that this gift is available to anyone who has completed a minimum of ONE shrine, and maybe even less. Someone could have just exited the ultrahand trial, only a quarter done with the tutorial, and you all want that person to be handed a flipping diamond after the devs spent so much time balancing the game? These little things are big enough.
@calbeau has it totally right.
This feature is definitely going to be used more in the future, this is just a dry run. They'll probably give out better weapons in the future, although keep in mind that this can be accessed right after starting, so they likely just don't want to debalance the game. With a Biggoron's Sword you could completely wreck Greatsky Island.
The hylian set? Really? The Archaic clothes, the new champion tunic, one of the classic tunics... lot of cooler-looking options for him to wear, so one of the most basic outfits is pretty disappointing, especially without the hood.
@Bret That does canonically make sense; since the last time she saw Link, he had the glider. Although not providing an alternative is quite a glaring oversight... unless you could get down in the balloon itself? I've never tried that.
@Maxz I did find one combat shrine, but it was basically a quicker Eventide Island. It was actually the most fun time I've had with video game combat, a perfect mix of strategy and action.
I have done most of the important stuff. 90% of quests, all beasts and shrines, and about 300 koroks, Completed Champion's Ballad but not the Trial of the Sword. I think I'll keep it that way. If I ever want to come back to this world, there'll still be stuff to do.
@Slowdive Hooooly heck I only just saw that connection. I wonder what the fused item was? Is it a machine that looks like a head, or is Link going to rip the head off a fire-breathing dragon and glue it to his shield?
@Williamfuchs420 IIRC there was an official Pokemon manga about that very concept. I never read it though and wouldn't be able to find it, but I recall some people used it in a theory when SuMo were first revealed.
Hmm. I really like the look of it, but I don't know... I feel weird paying more than $15 for a "Six-hour experience". I do like everything else shown here though... I'll see.
Not interested in any of this stuff. Don't play mobile games, don't collect cards, skipped S/V. But a stop motion series... I love (And make!) stop motion so I'm looking forward to that. I still need to watch Wendell & Wild, and the Pinocchio movie.
@RadioHedgeFund I don't think that was it at all. The weapons all appeared before in the first game. All that was revealed with the sweets was that they would return. And nothing was said about the sword transforming in the article about the sweets, either.
Aw this is sick! If they're putting all this effort & love into what's basically just an ad, then I have high hopes for this movie.
Also in the thumbnail I thought Luigi had angel wings.
Oof, I can see where this guys coming from but this is really an open-and-shut thing to fix. Don't knock the new design though, I think they both look fine. It's not like they mur-doored somebody. ... I'll see myself out.
Say what you want about Sw/Sh (I personally enjoyed it), but something about how the music, rumble, cinematics, and the fact that there's an epic Pokémon at stake makes me super tense when I was doing raids.
I actually want the shrines to make a return. Not the shrines themselves, but the design of them. Tons of small puzzles, all around the world, completed in 10-20 minutes, with a reward at the end. Proper dungeons would be nice, but I love the shrines. Make the new things more visually distinct and with better and more puzzles, and I'll be happy.
These all sound good, but I wish there were enough hand-drawn games to make a similar list. If more games looked like Hollow Knight, the cost-of-production for these games wouldn't rise much AFAICT and it'd also make them more appealing to those who aren't fond of pixel art.
@Mauzuri I recommend going to Akkala, stocking up on ancient parts and getting 20-30 ancient arrows from the scientist guy. After that you can just vaporize the guards in the hideout and continue the quest.
Thunderblight will be a pain though, I admit. Maybe bring a bunch of strength/extra health foods? God, I hope the healing system is redone in TotK. Worst case scenario you can just head to the castle and do it without completing all the beasts.
If you want a bunch of cool stuff in BotW or any game, I'd recommend these heavily. You can find them for Splatoon, animal crossing, probably smash too but I haven't seen that.
Pokemon Ultra Sun- Totem Marowak. I love everything else about that section of the game- Music, characters, even the boss's design is sick. But it was just way too hard. I ended up buying Moon just because there was a different boss in that version. I did beat it one day, and finish the game. It became one of my favourites. But that section was so annoying... Also, Shovel Knight. Why are the spikes all OHKOs? It would have been so easy to take the Hollow Knight route, where you take one hit of damage and then respawn. I wish I'd gotten the game on my computer now, since I could get a mod that does just that.
Also, I did play Hollow Knight up until the second ending. I died a lot, but I don't believe I ever got mad. The game always makes you understand why, you can easily understand what mistakes to learn from, and you don't feel cheated at all. You died a zillion times to the Radiance because it's a literal god, not because it's cheating.
I hope they redo the amiibo system in TotK. Getting those items in quests or for beating extra-tough bosses would've been a hundred times better. I did want some stuff though, so I got a pack of amiibo cards for the price of one official figure.
