I'm stupidly hopeful Silksong will make an appearance. The fact that at the last couple events, Geoff made sure to let people know Silksong would NOT be shown, and he hasn't done that for this event certainly seems like a sign.

I'm particularly bothered by the hateful comments about Geoff. Didn't your mothers teach you "If you don't have anything nice to say, don't say anything at all"?

How would you feel if you were Geoff and had all of this hate being loosely thrown around about you?

I love this game on Wii, except for the waggle controls. I REALLY want to play this version for the regular controls and added levels, but $60 for a port is crazy, especially when the game was originally $50(Wii)/$40(3DS) and then sold as a budget title for $20 NEW for years.

@Not_Soos I haven't played Cavern of Dreams, but I've been on the fence about whether I want to buy it or not. Looks interesting but I wasn't sure how I felt about the lack of combat. Not to mention my burnout on indie platformers has made me wary, much like you.

@Not_Soos As someone who is similarly burned out on the oversaturated genre, I would strongly recommend picking up Corn Kidz 64. I was pleasantly surprised by what a breath of fresh air it was. Great platforming and level design. Plus the levels are super densely packed with secrets. It can be a short game if you're not doing everything, but if you're a completionist, it's a surprisingly good size game for how cheap it is.

Will buy Echoes day one as it's one of my top 10 games of all time.

Corruption can be forgotten forever as far as I'm concerned. It has a few great moments but overall is the worst mainline games in the series, IMO.

Did you finish the game? I've heard some people say the final boss is a ridiculous spike in difficulty and soured the overall experience. Did you find that to be true?

This is my most nostalgic game ever. Got it when I was 11 and it was my favorite game for several years. I beat the game a couple hundred times and used to speed run it until I could get 102% in 1hr and 13min.

This was a terrific interview and a great game. Personally, I completed the first 2 layers of the game. The first layer is brilliant but not overwhelming. The 2nd layer is brilliant but a bit beyond what I find reasonable. The 3rd layer is impressive but definitely for people with no lives beyond gaming 😄

Turns out Pokemon Go was a globalist plot the whole time. 😏

One of the first Switch games announced will be one of the last released.

I love the original, and I don't like this version at all.

I remember this game releasing like it was yesterday. It can't be overstated how amazing it looked compared to other games at the time.

That said, DKC2 and DKC3 are much better games.

Easily my favorite Metroid game. Metroid is one of my all time favorite series, but this game is by far the pinnacle for my taste.

It makes me sad how many people rate Prime more highly than Echoes. I feel Prime is really good but so vanilla compared to Echoes. It's like how Ocarina was brilliant but completely outclassed by Majora's Mask.

@N00BiSH I haven't played it yet, but I've heard great things about Gimmick! and think I'll pick up the special edition release of it on Switch.

As long as there is hope for Silksong to be announced, I'll be watching. For me, this has become an annual tradition of disappointment, and I wouldn't miss it.

I also look forward to seeing Josef Farez hopefully announce his next project. That guy is wild, but It Takes Two made me a believer.

Then there is the fun of anticipating Geoff Keighley losing his cool when something doesn't go according to plan.

I am really happy Lego Horizon runs great on Switch but disappointed that the level design is fairly lackluster. Will probably wait for a sale.

Metroid Prime 2 is still one of my favorite games of all time and definitely my favorite game in the Metroid series. I know Prime gets the most praise, and I like it quite a bit, but Echoes blows it out of the water IMO.

@tonyp1987 Not sure what you're talking about. I bought the Arkham Collection on Steam only to find it's not supported on the Steam Deck.

EDIT: Just double checked and maybe it's only Asylum that's not supported. But that was the main one I really wanted to try.

That trailer contains only 5 seconds of gameplay. 😒 I need more than this to win my confidence in a game.

Both good but neither is great.
Japan is a little better.

My WiiU has Metroid Prime Trilogy and Pikmin 1+2 with superior pointer controls.
Plus, I actually OWN loads of SNES, N64, GBA, etc. games on there WITHOUT a monthly subscription.
Donkey Kong Country 2, Metroid Fusion, Majora's Mask... the list is a mile long.

Dumb question maybe... but are the Xenoblade games worth trying if I don't like playing games for the story?
I typically skip cutscenes, text dialog, etc.
However, I've always been curious to try either the first game or this one. The world design and exploration looks like it could be fun. Not sure about the combat?

Unfortunately, none of the crossovers so far hold any interest to me. But I'd love to see Hollow Knight, Axiom Verge, and Shovel Knight.

Am I the only person who despises the feel of twin-stick shooters? It feels... gross.

I love the Trials games (especially Fusion) but that series seems to be abandoned.

I love Trackmania but Ubisoft made it some dumb season pass model.

Mario Rabbids Kingdom Battle is one of the best Switch exclusives, but Sparks of Hope ruined the formula.

I am completely in disbelief that Ubisoft never ported Rayman Origins to Switch as that would be an easy hit. I personally like that game much better than Legends.

Never cared about Assassin's Creed, Just Dance, or any other Ubisoft games.

Of course, the Switch numbers are significantly inflated because:
1. Nintendo was able to re-release almost all of its WiiU titles and have them count as Switch titles.
2. Switch had the benefit of being the first handheld to allow console ports. This means that highly rated classics such as Dark Souls, Skyrim, Witcher 3, Metal Gear Solid, Cuphead, Ori, Red Dead Redemption, etc. all get counted as Switch titles even if they originated on PS2, X360, PS3, etc.

Don't get me wrong, I love the Switch. But these numbers are more affected by ports than most consoles.

Hot take but I genuinely think LttP is the most overrated game of all time. No exaggeration. Such a boring game, even though I generally love the Zelda series.

And yes, I played it when it was new. And yes, I've beaten it multiple times over the years just to give it another chance. It's just never been fun for me, compared to the other 2D Zeldas like Link's Awakening, Oracles, and Adventure of Link.

Not my typical genre, but this looks like a game I'd really enjoy.

@mlt Seriously, I just finished replaying Other M and that game is such a blast to play! It has flaws but the hate is way overblown. I am a huge Metroid fan and Other M is my 2nd or 3rd favorite ever. (#1 is MP2:Echoes).

I don't understand people voting for the Europe one. It's truly artistically embarrassing. The kind of thing a 7th grade would do in photoshop before learning anything about composition.

Do people actually think "more characters=more better"?

Looks really good. I didn't like Yooka Laylee and the Impossible Lair but I did love Kaze and the Wild Masks. Hopefully this plays more like the latter than the former.

I was scandalized when Starfox 64 released and Wolf said "What the HECK!?"

I'm very much not into fighters, but have been interested in this particular set of games for years. Mainly there's just something about the characters and art style that's much more appealing to me than other fighters.
I'll probably only play them a few hours and never touch them again, so I'll need to wait for a sale.

I'm a big fan of Wario Land, but I HATED the demo of this game. Different strokes for different folks, I guess.

This game was quite underwhelming to me. The art style was the best thing about it, but the game was a 7 at best, IMO. Probably more like a 6.

I grew up in the heyday of Rugrats but hated them with a passion. Yet this game looks strangely promising.
If I buy it, it will be in spite of the license, rather than because of it 😄

Not much for me personally, but some decent surprises. I think the presentation was let down by the fact that so many already announced games were shown off, which gave off strong "yeah, we know" vibes. Still some good stuff in there for those interested.

I am personally just excited for Pico Park 2!

Pico Park 2 was the only announcement that I'm really excited about. The original is a fantastic multiplayer game and one of the only ones on Switch to allow up to 8 players local.

Oh yeah, and that Wobble game looks like it could be fun with my kids as well.

I hate that Japanese cover so much. To my artistic sensibilities, the layout is a train wreck.

I ended up buying the game while it was on sale. I finished it this morning in about 4 hours (with the "Very Bad Ending").

I enjoyed it quite a bit! Really wish I could find more games like this. It has that 2D pixel art I love in games like Chrono Trigger, but without having turn-based combat and a ton of text, both of which I hate. The focus on exploration & puzzle solving is a lot more up my alley.

I love the idea of this game, but it was so un-enjoyable for me. I've restarted 4 or 5 times but always hit a point where I don't want to continue.

I know quite a few people consider it one of the greatest games ever made, and it makes me really wish the experience would click for me.

If it will be playable, that makes me think a Nintendo Direct might take place before then.
They haven't shown that much of the game, and having info be leaked by demo players before Nintendo has shown off much officially doesn't seem like their MO.
