So just to verify, if I buy the switch 2 edition, I can play it on my original switch? did I understand that correctly? I feel so old asking a question like that 😂

It's hard not to see a lot of these switch 2 features as recycled wii u features... but they were cooked into the wii u. I think the wii u even had support coming down the pipe line for multiple gamepads right?

I still play the Wii U with my kids, specifically Nintendo land and Mario party. I also play Chrono Trigger on the Wii mode maybe once or twice a month (I'm pretty busy these days).

@Joeynator3000 Makes sense! Since Link's Awakening is technically a sequel to A Link To The Past. I wonder if this is Link's return to Hyrule after that adventure?

This was graphically the best presentation on the entire direct. It looked incredible!

Kind of interesting how it sort of has a Tears of the Kingdom vibe in a way. Kind of reminds me of how Game Boy games used to sort of pull things from their console counterparts but put their own spin on them.

Really wish there would've been some DLC, we got a lot of cool back story and character development on the last game through DLC (and in a way, Hyrule Warriors). This world was so huge and expanded, I was a little let down when I learned we weren't going to get to explore any more of it.

I wish there would've been more 3D remakes like they did for 3 and 4. Would have been so awesome to have 5 in 3D, officially localized.

The only thing that disappointed me about tears of the kingdom was the lack of DLC. I felt like they essentially tripled the size of the world but there was so much they could've explored or explained.

I gotta say... Mega Man Legacy Collection 2 was a big letdown compared to the first one. I don't know why they decided to skip over every intro.

@LastFootnote I think you're right. For some reason, as a kid in the 90's, it made both of those games even more fun.

It's weird to me that, of all the obvious easter eggs, they didn't mention the super mario brothers super show theme song? in a way this movie could almost be a reboot of the show, it pretty much follows the plotline...

Can they overhaul how they name games too?

You know what would be awesome? A Xenoblade Warriors game. There's so much you can pull from, especially in 1 and 3.

I would personally love to see the 3DS remake get ported over to the Switch.

I was a little bummed to find out that there wasn't going to be any DLC. I felt like there was still so much story left to explore that they introduced.

@Dragonite89 that's a good point.. would love to see more gamecube games remastered, although I have a feeling we won't see as many as we all want. Even if they remastered F-Zero X though...

Was really just too short in my opinion... otherwise I loved everything about it, but I think most seasoned gamers would get through it pretty quick like I did. I was hoping for some DLC that would add a new area to the map or something.

The movie essentially followed the premise of the super show. I don't really know what people were expecting? It's Mario! An Italian plumber from Brooklyn who gets sucked into another world with his brother, fights a giant fire breathing dragon turtle and his army of lesser turtles, saved a princess, and liberates a kingdom of Mushroom people.

@MarioBrickLayer I'm also wondering what other properties might come from this outside of Mario. I was expecting some kind of Zelda or Metroid teaser, but knowing Nintendo I'm sure they want to work really hard to get it right. Zelda seemingly restarts every few games or so, so that'll be interesting to see what or how they incorporate different aspects from the different games or timelines - but I'm guessing they would start either with the NES release or Ocarina of Time - but I don't know how they would cram all of that into one movie. Metroid as well, it will be interesting to see how they portray the origin of Samus on the big screen.

@Shredderlovespizza same. I liked it maybe more than my kids. Trying not to wear out my wife with Mario trivia.

I watched this whole series with my kids... it was a great show! the mobile game was fun but man I can't handle triple a titles on mobile, I feel like I'm wasting half my time downloading updates.

Looking at the mario toys here, it makes me wonder if they tried to go back to the original arcade look a bit too just like donkey kong. has anyone else thought that?

Man... the fact that this is a two page post with a table of contents really discourages me from picking this one up. That's after grabbing Arceus and really enjoying it, my first Pokemon purchase in a very long time..

We still play the Wii U in my house. And honestly, I still hunt around for games that I didn't buy. My kids love it. Nintendo Land is a really, really fun family game (and before my family was large, my wife and I played it with friends). I'm also itching to get back to Xenoblade Chronicles X now that I beat 3.

Imagine the Switch version ends up being the PSP version
