I finished Fire Emblem Three Houses last weekend. Great game. Now it's on to Xenoblade DE, specifically Future Connected. I suspect this will be my answer for many weeks!
Still ploughing through Pokemon X. Enjoying it, but already thinking about switching back to Fire Emblem Birthright and finishing that first.
Played the first 15 minutes over lunch and I have to say I'm very impressed with how it looks. I've got the Wii and 3DS versions, though only finished it on 3DS, and only a few weeks ago. I've gone digital this time as not only do I already have two physical copies. Can't wait to dive in properly tonight and start off Future Connected.
Just got to chapter 20 in Fire Emblem Three Houses (Black Eagles). Perhaps there’s a chance I’ll finish it before Xenoblade releases on Friday. Not sure if I’ll play the other routes or just read up on the differences. Overall I’ve really enjoyed the games. My first FE experience. Have all the 3DS games waiting to go next.
I finished Xenoblade 3D last weekend. Managed to beat the final boss on my second go. Looking forward to the DE now so I can do it all again.
Since then I've been pretty busy, but managed to get to just before the half way mark in Fire Emblem Three Houses. More of that if I get a chance this weekend, along with Pokemon X on 3DS.
Not that it's really related to this, but I wonder whether the Sword and Shield DLC will end up getting delayed. The first set could arrive on time as perhaps it was nearer completion anyway, but who knows about the second set. I saw an advert for the DLC yesterday which does make me think the first set might be on time. If it is delayed then of course it's no big deal to wait longer in the grand scheme of things.
I might finish Xenoblade 3D this weekend. Right near the end I think, just need a bit more grinding before I can defeat what I presume is one of the final bosses. Once I’m finished I’m considering starting Ocarina of time, one I’ve never played before.
Xenoblade 3D still for me. Hit a wall with a boss near the end of the game (I think). Will go back and do some other stuff before I make my third attempt.
On switch I’ve really got back into FE3H again so think I might actually end up finding my first play through in the coming weeks. A big thing has been working out how to skip through the monastery sections quickly as I find those a bit tedious.
As much as I'm enjoying it, this is going to be a huge upgrade from Xenoblade 3D! Think I'm getting close to the end now so will be done ready to restart in a month's time!
@charlieonholiday Yeah, I had similar feelings about XC2. Loved it! Got X waiting to go after I finish 3D, as well as Xenosaga 1&2 for the DS (which will be a bit of a work out for my Japanese!). Think I’ll probably jump into Future Connected before all of that once it’s out! Have you played X? Did you enjoy it?
Mostly Xenoblade 3D. I have all the party members now (I believe) and can’t wait to see where the story goes next.
Dropped off of AC New Leaf a bit. As much as I like it, the grind to get enough money to build even a single new bridge seems a bit insane. I feel like I must be missing something short how to make bells, outside of rare bugs, turnips etc.
Booted up FE3H again after a while. Still before the time skip, been very sporadic with this game. However, when I do play it, I really enjoy it. Especially as I just discovered you can save mid battle!
More Xenoblade on 3DS. Really tempted to preorder the definitive edition. Should have waited for that version before I started really but I’m totally hooked on the story now.
On Switch I’ve been starting out in Final Fantasy XII. Hasn’t quite grabbed me like 7, 9 and X did from a thematic viewpoint, but the battle system and gambits are cool.
Final Fantasy XII on Switch. Got into it this time after not being too convinced on my first try. The gambit system looks very promising.
Xenoblade and Animal Crossing on my 3DS. Struggling to make bells in AC. I’ve unlocked the tropical island and set up the wealthy town ordinance, but still wondering how to make the 100,000s bells needed to build my town.
Having finished Tokyo Mirage Sessions a couple of weeks ago, I'm diving into my backlog now. I've been playing Pokemon X, Animal Crossing New Leaf and am thinking about starting Final Fantasy XII. Will probably pick up the new Animal Crossing at some point, but loving the 3DS entry for now (my first AC experience)!
I'm getting very close to the end of Tokyo Mirage Sessions now so may even end up beating it! The aesthetic won't be for everyone, but I've really enjoyed it. One of my favourite games on Switch, up there with Xenoblade 2.
On the 3DS I'm still playing through Fire Emblem Birthright, and dipping in and out of AC: New Leaf.
Tokyo Mirage Sessions and Fire Emblem Birthright for me. Might also get in a bit more Persona 4 Golden - think I'll be playing this on and off for a very long time!
I'll be cracking on with more Tokyo Mirage Sessions (end of chapter 4), Fire Emblem Birthright and checking out Monster Hunter 4 Ultimate which has just arrived. I'm not sure whether I'll be able to get into it, as I struggled with World, but really want to give the series a second chance. Also one of the final 3DS games I want to add to my collection.
This is easily my most anticipated game of the year like it is for others here. I can't imagine what could be bigger for me (only Persona 5 could come close, but I doubt that's going to happen).
I've never finished the game, having only hit around 12 hours on the 3DS and Wii versions. Those play throughs are paused as this is going to the way to play it for the first time. I absolutely loved Xenoblade 2 and Torna, and have X waiting for the perfect time to be played.
On Switch, continuing Tokyo Mirage Sessions and more Pokemon Shield. I've got all of the gen 7 and 8 starters now after a day of searching for good trades on Pokemon Home.
More Fire Emblem Birthright on 3DS. Currently finishing up Chapter 9. I can't decide whether I want to play Echoes or Awakening next, or go for something completely different and pick up Monster Hunter 4 Ultimate.
I've finished Pokemon Omega Ruby so now deciding whether to start Soul Silver, Platinum, Black or X. I'm tempted to go for X, mainly because it's the newest and I'm kind of working by way through the games backwards.
On Switch I'm 10 hours in to Tokyo Mirage Sessions. It's an amazing game. Like @nhSnork I've already been hoping there might be a sequel at some point.
Hopefully finishing Pokemon Omega Ruby, as well as starting Tokyo Mirage Sessions! Also been enjoying Byleth in Smash which has made me go back and get a bit more of the way through Three Houses. I love the battles in 3H but I'm not really sure about the monastery exploration. I've been mostly skipping that now to focus on instruction and battling.
I will be continuing Pokemon Omega Ruby and probably more Tales of Vesperia on Switch. Tokyo Mirage Sessions looks really good and I'm very tempted to buy it, but can't decide whether to go physical or digital (and it's been quite good actually getting to games like ToV which have been on the backlog for a while).
I've nearly completed my Pokemon game collection now (complete as in a game per generation), so working through that. Currently on Omega Ruby.
On Switch I've kind of decided that Dragon Quest XI isn't for me, or at least not right now, so I've parked that for the time being. Very tempted by Tokyo Mirage Sessions. Combat and visual style look great but I'm not really sure I'll enjoy the story. If I don't pick it up then I'll start one of my backlog RPGs (FF VIII, XII, WoFF or Tales of Vesperia).
Pokemon Omega Ruby, training up my Slowpoke in Pokemon Shield and probably some Dragon Quest XI. Still really not sure how I feel about DQ. The story seems quite good, but I feel like the world and music are quite bland. Only about 6 hours in so far so will keep going for now.
Dragon Quest XI and Pokemon Omega Ruby for me this weekend. Possibly a bit of Golf Story too. Had my eye on that forever and with my gold coins I could get it for nothing during the sale. Played a few rounds so far which has been great fun, but yet to start the story mode.
This is disappointing but isn’t too surprising. I think what’s more surprising is that a collection was considered at all.
After playing XC2 I bought a Wii U to play XC1 and XCX. Not finished either yet and thinking I might just continue with XC1 when the DE comes out next year.
I have a PSTV but being in the UK I can’t buy Xenosaga, and have no way to play the Xenosaga games either. Would love the chance but I’m happy to have all of Xenoblade.
It'll be more Ultra Sun post game, Xenoblade 3D, and after Christmas Day, Dragon Quest XI and Pokemon Omega Ruby. Also tempted to pick up Collection of Mana or Witcher 3 in the sale.
Pokemon Shield and Ultra Sun for me. Near the end of both so might even finish them off this weekend. After that I have Pokemon X lined up and Persona 4 Golden.
I'm still working my way through Pokemon Shield - 5 badges in so far and still really enjoying it. Currently on Route 8. Besides that, more Ultra Sun. On what appears to be the final island now with my crazily strong Incineroar.
Been looking at the sales too. Very tempted by Dark Souls, which will be super cheap with the discount and my gold coins. Already have the game on PC, but I'm essentially out of PC gaming now.
Outside of Nintendo, I've now got Persona 4 Golden on a PS TV I picked up cheap, so may start that up too.
Pokemon Shield. I'm blown away so far by how good it is. Probably been my most anticipated release of the year and it hasn't disappointed yet. This is my third Pokemon game after Let's Go Eevee and Ultra Sun (which I'm still finishing up). I can't see myself playing anything else on Switch for quite some time (going back to Xenoblade 3D once I've finished Ultra Sun).
Besides Shield, I just got a PS TV in the post from cex (which I'm yet to open up). I'll be loading up Persona 4 Golden and Xenogears on there.
Near the end of Link's Awakening which I'm hoping to finish before Pokemon arrives next week. Still undecided on Sword or Shield, but liking more of what I've seen from Sword from the officially available information - I've avoided the leaks. Kind of tempted to go with Sobble now that I've heard all the comments on the final evolution...
Mostly more Link's Awakening and Ultra Sun for me.
On top of that, the mood took me last night and I downloaded Doom 2. That was probably the first game I ever got on release day. Slightly surprised how many of the levels I've forgotten (especially compared to the first game).
I finished Astral Chain last weekend, which I thoroughly enjoyed. Was nice to have a bit of action after playing three Final Fantasies back to back. Not sure what to get stuck into next. Deciding between FFXII, FFVIII, Tales of Vesperia or picking up DQXI (after enjoying the demo) but I'm not sure I'm ready to go all in on another long game. I would check out Link's Awakening but I've just started Link Between Worlds on the 2DS XL.
And regardless, there will be more Pokemon Ultra Sun on the 2DS XL.
I've been playing Astral Chain. Really enjoying the visual look and the story is starting to get quite interesting. Not so sure about the combat. As ever with Platinum games I can't really tell what's going on half the time and whether my inputs are really changing anything that's happening (even after going through the tutorials). I think it's just I'm not really used to this style of game - 2D fighting games are more my thing when it comes to combo based fighting. I will definitely finish the game however.
I've been buying up a few 3DS games as well so will look at Persona Q2 and then continue with Xenoblade and Pokemon Ultra Sun. I'm wondering how long it's going to be before the majority of 3DS games are out of print and hard to get hold of.
I finished FFX today after about 40 hours. My favourite so far after playing VII and IX earlier this year. Seems like they’re getting better the more I play. I picked up VIII on release day and now about an hour into that. I gave X-2 a quick look but I think I’ll end up leaving that until much later.
Was considering Astral Chain but I’d like to finish a few more games first really.
FFX on Switch. Given up trying to get to the end before FFVIII releases on Tuesday but that will no doubt be a day one pick up regardless.
I've been playing Ultra Sun on my new Pikachu special edition 2DS XL. It's my first full Pokemon game after starting with Let's Go Eevee.
In general I'm very happy with the 2DS XL, but it seems a shame that the speakers are so quiet (even with sound switched from the default of Surround to Stereo). Even stranger is the fact this seems to also be the case when plugged in to external speakers.
More FFX. About 8 hours in and I'm still undecided about this one. Until all the Switch releases, I'd never played a Final Fantasy. Started with 7 and then went right into 9. 7 was good as an entry into the series, but I definitely enjoyed 9 more in terms of story and characters. X has my favourite battle system so far, and I really like the characters, but something about it just isn't quite connecting with me. I think it might be the voice acting which is fine but feels quite disjoint (and I can't switch to Japanese as I normally would). Will keep going for now, but I'm tempted to jump into Three Houses instead.
Just finished up the story mode of Mario Maker 2. Really good fun! Going to dip into Splatoon 2, carry on with FFX and considering picking up the BotW DLC whilst it's on sale.
I finished Final Fantasy IX today. Great ending! Last few hours were amazing!! Might start X now but equally tempted to pick up Collection of Mana. Also, Mario Maker 2.
Playing through FF9 and getting to the end of disc 2. Hoping I can blast through the rest of the game over the next week or so. I picked up World of Final Fantasy in the sale so might also play through the start of that.
I’m so tempted by this but I already have so many older games to play through! Also have Secret of Mana on the SNES mini. Switch is the best place to play these long games though, so who knows whether I’ll be able to hold out!

Nice wallpapers. Enjoying the daily news on Xenoblade here! Always feels like a series that doesn't get much attention outside of the fanbase.

@charlieonholiday You’re in for a great time with XC2 and Torna! They’re the reason I got a Wii U so I could play X, and why I picked up XC 3D.
I often wonder about what XC3 could bring. Can’t wait to find out!

Re: Talking Point: What Are You Playing This Weekend? (September 14th)

FFX on Switch. Given up trying to get to the end before FFVIII releases on Tuesday but that will no doubt be a day one pick up regardless.

In general I'm very happy with the 2DS XL, but it seems a shame that the speakers are so quiet (even with sound switched from the default of Surround to Stereo). Even stranger is the fact this seems to also be the case when plugged in to external speakers.
Re: Talking Point: What Are You Playing This Weekend? (August 24th)
Continuing FFX and FE3H on Switch. I caved and picked up my first 2DS XL so starting off Ultra Sun and Xenoblade 3D.
Re: Talking Point: What Are You Playing This Weekend? (August 17th)
Fire Emblem, FFX and Splatoon 2 on Switch.
Really tempted to pick up a 2DS XL whilst they’re still cheap and easily available for all the Zelda games, Pokemon, Xenoblade 1 etc.

Mario Maker 2 Story Mode, some FFX and still trying to resist the Mana Collection!

Re: Review: Collection of Mana - Expensive, But Ultimately Worth Every Penny
I’m so tempted by this but I already have so many older games to play through! Also have Secret of Mana on the SNES mini. Switch is the best place to play these long games though, so who knows whether I’ll be able to hold out!
