The Pokémon Company has announced that the release of this summer's movie, Pokémon the Movie: Coco, will be postponed.
The film was due to be released in Japanese cinemas on 10th July, but the company has issued a statement to its official website today to inform fans of the delay. As you can probably guess, the postponement is due to ongoing complications presented by the coronavirus outbreak; The Pokémon Company apologises for the delay and notes that fans will be informed about future ticket sales when the time comes.
The film stars Ash and Pikachu - obviously - as well as a young boy called Coco. The plot has some Jungle Book vibes going on, with Coco being raised in the middle of a jungle by the mythical Pokémon Zarude.
Here's hoping fans can get to see the new film soon!

Well.. everything is getting delayed right now.
Wonder what this means for the Zarude event?
Not that it's really related to this, but I wonder whether the Sword and Shield DLC will end up getting delayed. The first set could arrive on time as perhaps it was nearer completion anyway, but who knows about the second set. I saw an advert for the DLC yesterday which does make me think the first set might be on time. If it is delayed then of course it's no big deal to wait longer in the grand scheme of things.
@mcdreamer Entirely possible. We still don't even have a release date for the first set. We only know it's supposed to be sometime next month.
meh, after SnM I haven't return to the anime. I guess this is it for me
@Bon_Kurei I'm very curious in how they pretend to do the event to start with. We know it's ticket sales in Japan, but is it still GameStop in the west? Getting Mythicals is such a pain in the ass for me, official events are super rare in Brazil, if they're not doing some official distribution online (like the 2016 Mythical year) I can pretty much guarantee I won't have the Pokémon, which sucks
