Been playing The Crown Tundra most of the day. Completed two of the main quests. Having a good time so far. This is definitely the meatier of the two parts of the DLC. I doubt I’ll pick up anything else until I finish it off and grab some legendaries.
Excited to boot this up later! I enjoyed Isle of Armour and this one looks to be even better. I still have Platinum, Soul Silver and both Black 1 and 2 sitting here waiting too. After the dlc I’ll probably by itching to start one of those.
With The Crown Tundra coming next week and being between big RPGs I don’t want to get into anything too big this weekend. Last night I played some Doom and Persona 5 Dancing. Will probably also pay some Mario 35 at some point too.
A great set of quotes. Shows a snippet of the consideration of what rally goes into game development (or the development of any large scale software). There’s no such thing as a “lazy” developer.
Mostly Persona 5 Royal as I'm starting to near the end (well, probably still 20 to 30 hours to go!). I've also just got copies of Final Fantasy III and Dawn of Souls, both of which are now in my DS and ready to go!
Some 3D All Stars but probably mostly Persona 5. Just about to hit November.
3D All Stars is a nice collection, but 64 and Sunshine are a lot older feeling than I expected. Galaxy looks and runs great so that's probably where I'll spend most of my time. I don't think there's anything wrong with the other two, I think for me it's more that I have no nostalgia for 64 and Sunshine having missed them the first time around. In general I do think they've taken the right approach for fans of the originals. If I had played them 20 years ago I'd be wanting to play the exact same games I remembered.
I bought my 2DS XL last year and am still absolutely loving it. I use it nearly every day, more than my Switch! I kind of wish I got two now that they're out of production. May pick up a 3D model down the line on eBay.
Nearing the end of my first run though of Catherine now. I'm have an idea which ending I've gone for, but I don't know what that's really going to end up meaning. I've enjoyed the game but I may just YouTube the other endings as I imagine getting them in game requires playing through lots of it again.
Persona 5 Royal. Still a blast 50 hours in with no end in sight! I can see this becoming one of my all time favourites.
I’ll no doubt also be firing up Doom 64 in Switch And making my way though a few more levels. I wish they let you skip all the intro movies when the game is starting up! Great game overall though.
I plan to get this and SMTV on day one. Currently blasting through Persona 5 Royal and it's everything I ever hoped it would be. About 50 hours in so still quite a way to go!
Besides trying to keep cool, I will no doubt dig in to more Persona 5 Royal and quite possibly Atelier Ryza. Will also be continuing FE Awakening on 3DS. I've been looking at Shadow Dragon carts on ebay. Boxed copies are too expensive for me, and I don't mind just having the cart. Just trying to keep an eye out for fakes.
Played some Pokemon on local wifi last night with a friend. Was a lot of fun but getting a connection set up was a real faff. The main issue was it wasn't at all clear that you have to do it through the Y-Conn, and even then we couldn't get a connection going until the third attempt. Was great though. First time I've ever done that with a Pokemon game. I closed out one of the matches with a Dynamaxed Goomy which was a lot of fun.
Persona 5 and Fire Emblem Birthright will be my main games this weekend. Thinking about picking up Atelier Ryza as it’s on sale or possibly Slay the Spire. I see a lot of recommendations for STS.
I'm playing Trails of Cold Steel 3. First Trails game, and after reading up on the back story I'm now really into it. Still quite early on so a long way to go with this one.
Getting close to the end of FE Birthright now too but probably won't finish that until next weekend.
I feel like the releases so far this year top any of these, though will be interested to see how BD2 and Ys work out. Will be hard to beat Xenoblade and TMS though. Can’t wait for SMTV.
@SwitchVogel Cool, will still keep an eye on it then. I still have one game voucher left so perhaps I'll end up using it on this game. I can imagine the smaller stories might be a nice break from the larger RPGs I've been playing of late.
@SterlingEyes I’m very tempted to do the same. I have copies of Persona 5 and Bloodborne sat here waiting. Only thing that puts me off is I want a PS5 later in the year.
@MonkeyDLuffy19 Yeah, I was just kind of hoping the story summary they've included might be enough to get going. Not the same as experiencing things first hand, just wondering if it might save me 100 hours catching up!
@robr Yeah, it is. I preferred the original over Doom 2 as well, which is probably why I'm not quite so hot on Eternal. Saying that, both Doom 2 and Eternal are good. The first games in each case are just all time favourites for me.
@playthedangame Have you played the previous games in the Trails series? I’d love to dive but I don’t know whether I should really play the other games first.
I’ve been playing Xenoblade X. On chapter 4 at the moment. Also on my way to the elite four in Pokemon X.
I caved and bought it on PC as it’s half price in the steam summer sale. I’m not hating it but it does feel a bit of a slog compared to Doom 2016. As a fan since the original came out they really pulled it off with that game. This feels like more of the same, but with a load of stuff which makes little sense bolted on.
I'm kind of semi interested in this, but equally it's far better to code your own engine if you're able. Nothing beats the flexibility of being in control of everything. Also, nothing beats the amount of work that brings with it
@AlexSora89 I'm not sure about Yume Nikki, but Undertale was created with Game Maker. That's a fantastic tool and a great place for people to start, and probably continue, their game development journey.
Xenoblade X and Doom Eternal for me (half price in the steam summer sale!). Hoping to blast through Doom relatively quickly as I’m eager to see all the lore they’ve added.
Isle of Armour for me and probably more Persona 4. On to the battle tower now so I think I’m nearly done with the story content in the expansion. Then I will travel around the isle looking for the Pokemon I want. Might also sneak in some Pokemon X and Xenoblade DE too.
This looks absolutely great! Whilst Dead Cells has always looked interesting to me I've never quite hit the button on it. The art style might be the clincher here for me.
Xenoblade DE. Going through on casual mode and hitting areas way faster than I did in my first playthrough. Mainly just want to see the story again in hd after finishing it on my 3DS. Tempting me to finally start new game + in XC2.
I’ve also been considering picking up a Gameboy Advance SP (the model with the brighter screen). Interested in playing Golden Sun and a couple of other things. Is it worth it or should I just use my DS Lite instead? It would be nice to have the backwards compatibility of the SP though I might never make use of it.
Xenoblade of course. On the main game now having finished Future Connected. Tempted to play on casual for this play through so I can experience the story and updated environments without as much grinding. Also tempted by a new game plus run of Xenoblade 2.

Persona 5 Royal, Doom 64 and FE Awakening for me this weekend. Don’t know why I waited so long to get Doom 64!

I still love the 3DS. In fact, I only got my first one last summer. Already own these titles.

Trails of Cold Steel 3 for me. Been dipping back into Persona 5 too and also want to make some more progress in FE Birthright.

Re: Octopath Traveler Celebrates Its Second Anniversary With Some Adorable Artwork
Always wanted to try this game but have never gotten around to it. I’ve mainly been put off by the fact the stories are supposedly not too great.
Re: Talking Point: What Are You Playing This Weekend? (July 11th)

Re: Talking Point: What Are You Playing This Weekend? (July 11th)
Maybe not too much this weekend. Will finish up the Trails of Cold Steel 3 demo and continue Fire Emblem Birthright.
Kind of searching for the next big game to pull me in. Shame that Ys VIII doesn’t have a demo.
Re: Inti Creates Is Adding A Boss Rush Mode To Bloodstained: Curse Of The Moon 2
I really need to try out the first game. Both of these look great. It'll be interesting to see whether this is a longer experience than the first.

@JR150 I'd also love to see a TMS sequel!

Xenoblade of course. On the main game now having finished Future Connected. Tempted to play on casual for this play through so I can experience the story and updated environments without as much grinding. Also tempted by a new game plus run of Xenoblade 2.
