Re: Nintendo Quality Of Life Patent Applications Appear Online

@k8sMum @TheRealThanos No, no no. Sleep sensors are not that stupid! You set the time you want to wake up at and the device wakes you up before that time (sometimes even an hour) whenever you're not in your deep sleep period anymore. As a result, even though you wake up earlier than planned, you're well rested and ready to work. Read more about sleep sensor, Nintendo isn't the first one to introduce them.
And think about it, Nintendo is a Japanese company and Japanese people don't value anything more than their work and being punctual is extremely important.

Re: Nintendo Quality Of Life Patent Applications Appear Online

@GamePerson19 From my understanding its basically a sleep sensor which measures your heartbeat, breathing, mood etc and based on those condition it wakes you up at the proper time so you feel nice and well rested in the very morning. You probably had moments when you slept only few hours but woke up feeling really good and also other moments when you sleep ~10h and wake up tired. Basically, with QoL sleep sensor you'd wake up rested everyday. So, if done nice and sold cheap device like this would be a commercial success for Nintendo

I don't understand all the hate here in the comments. It's not a first Nintendo project related to non-gaming industry, and while all the previous failed, I think this one might be successful, especially now when sleep sensors are getting more and more popular. Wii Fit and balance board were successful and I think QoL is an interesting project. I am very excited for it and I'm happy Nintendo is expanding their business to new sectors.

And to everyone scared they will stop making games - there's nothing to worry. Nintendo has plenty of money, and I'm quite sure funding for QoL most probably didn't even included a cent from funds set for gaming-related stuff.

Re: The Legend of Zelda: Symphony of the Goddesses Master Quest World Tour Gets Extended

mateq

Symphony of the Goddesses was such a disappointment when I was it in London in April! I mean, the music was amazing, I really loved it, but the crawd acted like a bunch of brainless pigs, clapping, shouting and screaming every 2mins - you can't even hear, let alone enjoy, the music. It is totally ok to applause, but do it after the song, not in the freaking middle of it... The guy next to me was eating McDonald's for the first 15mins of the concert, people were drinking beer and eating popcorn around everywhere. You don't see this kind of behaviour in theatre, opera, ballet or any other orchestra performance.
Based on London performance, I can say that most Zelda fans and EXTREMELY immature.

Re: Official Nintendo UK Store Bundles Fire Emblem amiibo with Code Name S.T.E.A.M.

mateq

@BarryDunne Not quite, they simply want to create demand... and they did. See how amiibo is popular and every shipment gets sold out instantly? They don't care if scalpers or collectors buy it - they make profit either way. If they increated shipment on each unit and made sure there's stock in every shop on every character making fans happy - chances are (quite big, mind you) amiibo would never get as popular as they are right now.

Re: Poll: Which 2015 Nintendo Blockbusters Should Have amiibo Support?

mateq

I like the figures, they look cool but I've never used them in a game. As long as it's something like Smash bros, non-imporant additional content, then i'n fine with it, but new mario party game... I don't want to spend another 40 pounds to play a complete, different from the main-mode, part of a game with all my friends... it's just silly. IF you could use your Mii's in the boardgame part in mario party 10 and you could tap amiibo to give them cute costume that'd be so much better

Re: Satoru Iwata Reiterates Plans for Quality of Life Platform, and Suggests Potential Moves Into Education

mateq

Why all the hate in comments? I myself am pretty excited about this quality of life project. If they manage to create great products which make your life easier, why not be excited? Plus I'm sure they have a separe strategic business unit for QoL which does not interfere with gaming-related R&D teams.

Plus QoL its a niche area where they might be big, knowing all Nintendo innovative ideas. especially in the world where people follow the 'go green' slogan. If they are successful that means more money for to make more games as well!

Re: Poll: Which Current Generation Nintendo Soundtracks Would You Buy?

mateq

As long as its orchestrated I'd get anything. Nothing better than some epicness in your life! The Legend of Zelda 25th Anniversary Special Orchestra CD is the best thing Nintendo released so far (yes, including games! )

Other than that Bravely Default has some amazing soundtrack. Watch Sound Horizon musicals if you're interested

Re: New Nintendo 3DS Prices Pop Up in Italy, and They're Not Bad

mateq

still pretty expensive compared to Japan. i ordered mine from Japan for 150 pounds with monster hunter 4g and a screen protector and a postage. why uk/europe is always so damn expensive?! :/ btw standard model feels so much better now. was using xl before but the new 3ds standard feels so better size wise. it feels more portable than xl. i'd, recommend that one

Re: Poll: Which is the Best Pokémon Game?

mateq

oh God, hard decision even if I only played 1st, 2nd and jumped straight to 6th generation... I think out of those 3 games I enjoyed Gold the most so gonna vote on that one. But Yellow and X are really really close.

Hell, all the games are the same, how can there be 'best' out of the same?!
