Re: Video: How To Watch YouTube And Browse The Web On Your Nintendo Switch

mateq

@Switch81tch Fair, but first of all, why would I watch stuff on my laptop, if my TV is bigger? Second, I partially agree, I could get a HDMI adaptor, but I can imagine myself looking for videos I want to watch in handheld mode using the touch screen and then just switch to TV mode. I'm not saying it's necessary, however it would certainly be a great feature.

And honestly, your reasons for NOT wanting a browser on Switch are rather weak as well

Re: Preview: Immersing Ourselves in the World of The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild

mateq

@Koudai1979 I've just rewatched majority of the trailers and the only places you can see are classics like Hyrule castle, Kalikori and Gerudo village. I suppose we can expect Zora's Domain and Goron City but that's what we also have in a small Hyrule of Ocarina of Time. For a big map like Breath of the Wild (apparently bigger than Skyrim) I'm expecting at least 1 huge castle (Hyrule castle), 10 big cities and around 30-40 small villages on top of dungeons and various ruins.
But so far from those gameplays I've watched the world looks really empty, or rather only populated by bokoglin outposts, hence my question.
I'm sure I'll still enjoy the game and can't wait till March 3rd to see for myself how the world really looks like, but it would be great to know beforehand

Re: Preview: Immersing Ourselves in the World of The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild

Are there any cities, villages or anything in the game? With such a huge world I should assume so, but so far from all the trailers/previews I haven't seen anything where you can hmm, dunno, stay in the tavern, talk with locals, get side-quests etc. (something like Skyrim). Based on everything I've watched and read so far, the whole Hyrule seem rather empty, with the exception for goblin posts everywhere, a couple of dungeons and a tons of open world puzzles.
So, my question: is Hyrule empty or not? Is there enough to explore which isn't just land or ruins? Are there villages you can fast travel to?
Thanks

Re: Video: New Japanese Zelda: Breath Of The Wild Commercial Contains A Massive Reveal

I was very afraid of clicking the link or watching the ad, but then I thought - whatever, there's is way they would put a big spoiler in a TV ad, right? Aaaand, I was right. I really don't see how this is a spoiler? It's just a dragon. Could be a boss, as there are always weird or crazy boss designs, could be a ridable companion, or friend. Hyrule was sure to see a dragon sooner or later so no surprises here

Re: Best Buy and GameStop Offering Switch Pro Controller Pre-Orders in the US

mateq

@danielman9 I really don't care about battery life to be honest, I don't mind having my controller plugged in when I play. I was talking about the overall design - PS4 controller is beautiful and elegant. Maybe Switch controller is cool with HD ramble and all the other bonus features, bur it looks a lot like xbox one controller - both are just ugly.

Re: GameSeek States It'll Keep Selling Nintendo Switch for £198.50 Up to Release

mateq

I ordered Bayonetta II with them and received the game 2 days before release without any problems. So my experience with GameSeek is rather good. But I love Amazon for its customer service and warranty. If something happens to the console Amazon would offer you refund no questions asked, I bet with GameSeek it's different, but hey £200 for Switch is an amazing price! If I manage to catch stock I'll definitely preorder

Re: Talking Point: Considering Nintendo's Portable Future

mateq

Same as many here, I think Nintendo should focus on hybrid devices. To be honest, I see Switch as more of a portable console with bonus that you can plug it into your TV and play on a big screen. I'm sure I'm not alone in this perception of Switch and honestly, I am surprised Nintendo keeps telling us it's the other way round. Especially since on most of the ads released so far, majority of screenplay goes to Switch as portable, not home console.

So, there we go. I think Nintendo should focus on Switch and mobile and drop any plans to make a new console. Upgrade to a Switch in a year or two - yes. New separate console - not so much.

Re: Review: Fire Emblem Heroes (Mobile)

mateq

@rjejr I've finished the whole story without spending a dime and now playing it again on hard mode. It's totally doable, so don't worry if you just want to play around

Although the story is rather lame....

Re: Review: Fire Emblem Heroes (Mobile)

mateq

I love the game. Of course it's not as good as the main series, but it's very enjoyable and you can get plenty of orb without paying a dime. I summoned all the characters from one summoning circle 3 times and still have over 50 orbs right now.
Also it seems the content will be added in the nearby future as the story line is not finished.
I mean, I can't judge as I've never played any other mobile phone game so I can't compare Fire Emblem to other ones, but I find Fire Emblem being a lot of fun

Re: Random: 1-2-Switch Already Has Its Own Clone On Steam

mateq

if a single person or 2 people group could make very similar game in a week, that's even more of a reason why 1-2 Switch should have been bundled with the console....
For other mini-games they probably reuse the code anyway, just change a couple of variables for different controller motion

Re: Fire Emblem Heroes Revealed for Mobile, Arrives on Android on 2nd February

mateq

I wasn't really looking forward to the mobile game, but after watching the direct my body is more than ready. The game looks super fun, nicely polished, the graphics are cute and the Heroes idea seems great. Will definitely give it a shot! If it's as good as all the other Fire Emblem games it will definitely be a huge hit on mobile devices.

Re: Rayman Creator Discusses Legends: Definitive Edition for Switch

mateq

@2CUTE4YOU I've only had one direct experience with Nintendo customer service, and that was enough to put me off probably for a very long time. Long story short: my Wii U gamepad stopped working all of the sudden (I always take care of all my electronics, put screen protectors and keep them in cases when not is use). Under the 1 year warranty I have sent it to Nintendo for repair. They insisted that the damage to the gamepad was an accidental damage, not included in warranty, and wanted me to pay £80 (!!) for repair. I swear it just stopped working on it's own and I had it for around 7 months. Amazon (where I bought my Wii U) on the other hand accepted my return (without 2 Wii Remotes and a game which was bundled in my purchase) and provided me with a full refund. Nintendo has much to learn from Amazon.

In my opinion, under the family-friendly image of Nintendo, it is just a horrible money-grabbing company, not caring about their customers and Switch with all it's expensiveness proves it again (not the console, I think it's priced allright - but the accessories and hell overpriced)

Either way, I will keep buying Nintendo stuff as I still love their game, although my love for the company is not there anymore.

Re: Rayman Creator Discusses Legends: Definitive Edition for Switch

I'm actually looking forward to that game! I bought Rayman Legends for Wii U, but the day before it arrived, my Wii U broke down and I had to return it (got angry at Nintendo for not respecting the warranty on the console - their customer service is truly horrible. Luckily Amazon offered me a full refund and I got PS4 instead)

Will definitely be playing this on Switch at some point.
