Re: Review: Pokkén Tournament DX (Switch)

mateq

The game looked interesting and I skipped it on Wii U, so I tried the demo on Switch but was very disappointed. I love Pokemon and all fighter games, including Smash, Tekken, Mortal Kombat etc, but Pokken somehow lacked everything what good fighter has. Can't really tell what it is, but the game just seemed boring and not engaging at all...

Happy for everyone who enjoys it though Have fun!

Re: Ubisoft's Live Action Commercials For Mario + Rabbids Are Rather Weird

@maceng I doubt Nintendo would let Ubisoft run any commercial they want without prior approval if their beloved franchise is at stake. So yeah, I'm quite certain the ads had to go through Nintendo. As a matter of fact, Nintendo seems to be aiming all their Switch commercials toward teenagers more, rather than kids as in the past, maybe that's why we get ads like these?

Re: Ubisoft's Live Action Commercials For Mario + Rabbids Are Rather Weird

@Anti-Matter You realise those ads almost certainly had to be approved by Nintendo? Does that mean you have no respect for Nintendo, even though you wrote in your profile description that you love the company?
Those were made for laugh, I just don't understand how funny scenes like these can be insulting to anyone

Re: Ubisoft's Live Action Commercials For Mario + Rabbids Are Rather Weird

mateq

@Anti-Matter Calm down a bit. I don't accept anything related to violence in real life, but those ads have very little related to terrorism to be honest. It's all fantasy and entertainment, bizarre situations presented for laughs.
Following your logic does that mean we should stop airing all the action movies in the cinemas, because there's terror and criminal?! If you're saying the game is aimed for kids, should the movies like Lego Batman be 12+, because it contains violence and criminal organisations?!
People in majority need to chill down a bit and treat entertainment as entertainment without any connections to real terrorism, wars, whatevers

Those ads are great, I laughed at all of them. Very unusual, but that's always good! The robbery one was probably the best, although the war one, where the solder dies was hilarious as well. I think they capture the stupidity and silliness of the game and while I wasn't really interested in the game before, after watching the ads I'm actually considering the purchase

Re: PayPal Payment Option Arrives On Switch eShop

mateq

@BigBadJohn You can just buy the game directly from eshop using paypal without adding any funds to other accounts. I've just bought Sonic Mania from Russian eshop via paypal for only £9.66
I think it's a great addition and will make purchases much easier!

Re: Disgaea 5 Complete Passes 100,000 Sales on Nintendo Switch

mateq

@Wichtel You are probably right. I guess I'd be more into it if I didn't suddenly decide that I want a team of my own characters going through the main campaign... Maybe I'll come back to the game at some point, I quite enjoyed the massive amount of content, even though it left me too confused

Re: Disgaea 5 Complete Passes 100,000 Sales on Nintendo Switch

mateq

I bought a physical copy and spent over 30h on it... It was fun until there were WAY to many choices on how to proceed and I got confused, kept making new characters, experiencing different options and finally giving up as I didn't know what I want to do anymore in the game

Re: It's "A Bit Sad" That Switch Isn't More Powerful, Says THQ Nordic

mateq

@Shane76 Breath of the Wild, while very enjoyable, is FAR from being called a visually stunning game, thus requires less processing power as compared to the games with more 'adult' graphics.

On topic, ELEX looks really nice, sad it is being ruled out at the moment I wish Switch was more powerful, but I treat it more as an indie machine (+ 1st party games). Love those 2d games, which you can play for a short periods of time without getting too involved

Re: Nintendo's Share Value Reaches New Heights in Positive Reaction to E3

mateq

@ieatdragonz That's an incorrect view. This time, after the E3, NTDOY has reached its 52-week heights and that's quite an achievement for any stock that has been struggling for the past couple of years. So it's not really a "Reggie's sneeze" matter to be honest.

Although I agree, the main reason isn't really E3 (although that contributed) why the stock is on the rise. It's the direction where Mr. Kimishima is bringing the company. You can see a lot of licensing deal all over the place, mobile gaming, support for 3rd parties and extremely great marketing what turns into amazing sales. Investors are happy seeing that a lot of big franchises and system sellers (Pokemon, mostly) are coming to Switch.

Either way, it's a good time to be a Nintendo investor
